To put up and shut up with the transphobia on here?

I am fully supportive of the LGBTQ community and don't feel it is my position to question or undermine those who believe they were born in the wrong body.

And yet i see literally hundreds of intolerant posts on here and say nothing. Probably because I'm worried about being shouted down.

This is part of the problem isn't it? I should speak up.

Does anybody else feel like this or is it just me?

I'm agreeing with what others have said which other people tend to do as well on here?
Maybe it sounds inflammatory, sorry if it does but what I said is true.
It does take a certain amount of strength sometimes.

ReapersHowler · 08/06/2019 20:40

ReapersHowler so someones feelings are only valid if they have been screamed and shouted at or attacked?

Or perhaps when they're medically recognized by people who have spent their lives studying the human brain. Seems MNHQ agree that the post was transphobic.

I think kiwifarms and reddit are just pleased mumsnet are taking the fall

Kiwifarms exists just to bully people. At least one person has committed suicide as a result of the bullying and harassment tactics used on there. Great comparison.

DuploTower · 08/06/2019 20:41

Yet limekiwi - you are free to say it.

Intolerance would be if you were banned or abused.

Jarnsaxa · 08/06/2019 20:42

If transwomen are women can a woman be a transwoman?

LimeKiwi · 08/06/2019 20:42

Challenging opinions is not a personal onslaught pack it in

No, challenging opinions isn't, you're right.
It's more than just challenging opinions though.
You won't see it if you don't post with a different opinion to the majority.
I never used to see it either. I do now.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 08/06/2019 20:42

I was using reddit and kiwifarms as examples of transphobic websites

Your post just further proves my point

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 08/06/2019 20:43

Sorry that was for reapers

LimeKiwi · 08/06/2019 20:45

If transwomen are women can a woman be a transwoman?

Um... no, because what are they transitioning from?
They were a woman already so they wouldn't be a transwoman Confused

Jarnsaxa · 08/06/2019 20:45

If transwomen were actual women, they'd understand exactly why women don't want men in their toilets

Jarnsaxa · 08/06/2019 20:46

So you're saying a transwoman isn't a woman already limekiwi? 🙄

CodenameVillanelle · 08/06/2019 20:47

Knowing that women are adult human females is not biological essentialism. People who claim that do not know what biological essentialism means.

Jarnsaxa · 08/06/2019 20:49

If a woman wears trousers all day and does some DIY, then gets changed into a dress and goes out for cocktails. Is she transitioning limekiwi?

CodenameVillanelle · 08/06/2019 20:50

*Um... no, because what are they transitioning from?i
They were a woman already so they wouldn't be a transwoman confused

So...transwomen aren't women until they transition. But if they don't want to make significant physical changes they can still transition. But that transition isn't a physical change. So what's the difference between a man and a transwomen who has not physically transitioned? And how do they then 'become women'?

ScrumpyBetty · 08/06/2019 20:50

Good one jarnsaxa

Jarnsaxa · 08/06/2019 20:50

What if she identifies as a transwoman?

Absolutepowercorrupts · 08/06/2019 20:52

For all those posting this " assigned gender at birth" ideology.
Sex is biological, gender is a social construct. Sex and gender are two different things.
Sex is observed at birth not assigned, yet another word being used incorrectly, in the 99.99% of observations at birth the decision is correct . In the 0.01% it is not. Those people are intersex and are do not want to be dragged into this toxic transgender debate. I follow MRKH on twitter, an intersex person and MRKH has made it clear that they are not happy with their bodily autonomy being appropriated by the trans ideology.

Bluestitch · 08/06/2019 20:54

Um... no, because what are they transitioning from?
They were a woman already so they wouldn't be a transwoman

But didn't you say earlier in the thread that transwomen have always been female? Still waiting for the answer on how they are female btw.

LimeKiwi · 08/06/2019 20:54

Jarnsaxa

No, I clearly didn't say that at all, did I.

ReapersHowler · 08/06/2019 20:55

Your post just further proves my point

My apologies I thought you were defending it Blush It's a bloody horrible website and doesn't even try to moderate it's users by banning hate speech in anyway.

SmileEachDay · 08/06/2019 20:55

Oh FFS.

It’s the biggest Emperor’s New Clothes stand off in history.

Everyone - and I mean everyone- knows that TW are not W. Nobody actually thinks anyone changed sex.

But some have followed the Emperor’s naked butt so far down an alley that they can’t turn round without losing all sense of being “kind” or whatever shit they’ve sold this to themselves on.

Just no. It’s got to stop. It isn’t helping anyone.

LimeKiwi · 08/06/2019 20:56

So transwomen aren't women until they transition.
Where did I say that? Talk about twisting words.
I said biological women are already bodily women, so how are they transitioning?

Jarnsaxa · 08/06/2019 20:57

But you said a woman can't be a transwoman because she's not transitioning. But a transwoman is a woman even if she doesn't transition.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 08/06/2019 20:58

reapers

Fuck no!!!

I went on it once...i needed a shower

CodenameVillanelle · 08/06/2019 20:58

You said women can't be transwomen because they are already women. The only conclusion that follows from this is that transwomen aren't women until they transition. Otherwise they would ALSO be women already.

LimeKiwi · 08/06/2019 20:59

But didn't you say earlier in the thread that transwomen have always been female
I said it's not just down to what's between your legs, there's something "more".
If I could define it more I would.
