More detailed account here. www.walesonline.co.uk/news/drunk-mum-seen-throwing-baby-16396089 She was breastfeeding him. She had a huge amount of alcohol in her system and she fed him and then fell asleep on top of him in a caravan being rented by a complete stranger that she'd gone back to to drink and presumably have sex. I've got no words for this.

Plus it happened in 2017. That article states her depression is a result of killing her baby. Which kinda puts paid to the bizarre reaching ‘maybe she was already depressed with PND and taking antidepressants and it reached with the alcohol and and and...’ posts.

This sorry excuse for a human being has already been a free individual for two years since she murdered her son. She will now serve approx thirteen months behind bars (half of her two year four month sentence) and that’s it. No more punishment. Her little son who would have been two now is dead forever, she’ll spend less time in jail than time since he’s been dead. Just horrifying all round. Such a shame the medical evidence as inconclusive, I’m amazed they can’t convict for manslaughter, abuse and neglect. She’s not safe to be around children.

Ivy44 · 08/06/2019 20:10

I’m judging. What kind of animal takes a 4 year old somewhere that noisy, throws him in the air. The poor little boy must have been terrified. Then gets so blind drunk that she is incapable of tending to him and passes out on top of him. Horrific, but she is to blame.

MrsMiggins37 · 08/06/2019 20:20

How have we got to this point where a woman can kill her child through a mixture of abuse (tossing him around) and neglect (getting so pissed she laid on him and wasnt able to be roused until well after he’d been taken to hospital) and people will desperately scrabble for reasons to absolve her of guilt (depression, meds mixing with booze [here’s an idea: don’t drink then], where was the baby’s father etc). I’m kinda incredulous at the lengths some posters will go to and glad to see they’ve been swiftly given short shrift by the many sound minded sensible posters on this thread. It’s disturbing in the extreme what some of you will try and excuse and justify.

Absolutely agree. The “women and particularly mothers are sainted individuals who can do no wrong” narrative on here is ridiculous at times.

bobstersmum · 08/06/2019 20:21

I wouldn't be surprised if the throwing of the baby killed him or caused fatal consequences, a baby so tiny should only be handled carefully, who on earth would throw a baby? Poor little mite.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 08/06/2019 20:23

No kind of animal, Ivy.
Animals don't act that. They care for and protect their babies. Please with the greatest respect do not insult animals.

SummerHouse · 08/06/2019 20:26

Any brain injury would be evidenced in post mortem. I think the cause of death was recorded as SIDS but it could not be proven that her actions caused it.

BuildBuildings · 08/06/2019 20:36

How did she get in a nightclub with a baby?

Ivy44 · 08/06/2019 20:44

@aww
Sorry for insulting animals. If I could edit my post I would change the word animal to monster.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 08/06/2019 21:03

SIDS doesn’t normally involve bleeding though? Does it?

SummerHouse · 08/06/2019 21:11

Yes froth or blood from the nose is often found.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 08/06/2019 21:15

Ah sorry, didn’t know that. Thanks summer.

PixieDust26 · 08/06/2019 21:18

What scumbags her and her sister are!
Poor little boy 😭
It also alarms me that people saw them 'repeatedly throwing and catching her son' at 4 weeks old, poor boy didn't stand a chance 😭

800msprint · 08/06/2019 21:22

Fucking hell yes I'm judging! Urgh. Poor poor baby.

Al2O3 · 08/06/2019 21:25

The Judge has failed here.

2 years and four months??

Now let me guess what caused the baby’s death. Being taken to a nightclub, thrown around and subject to physical and mental shock and being slept on by a drunken adult or - let me see now - SIDS at the same time. A million to one chance the latter compared to the former surely.

MrsMiggins37 · 08/06/2019 21:36

*The Judge has failed here.

2 years and four months??*

The judge didn’t frame the charges. He has to follow sentencing guidelines. He can’t just make it up

m4rdybum · 08/06/2019 21:37

I have no words. Only tears for that poor little baby.

Al2O3 · 08/06/2019 21:47

I have read many sentencing guidelines. This seems on the very low side.

CitadelsofScience · 08/06/2019 22:14

A1203 she plead guilty I believe and because the pm results were inconclusive, there's only a small framework a judge can sentence in. I spoke to dd who's a law student and she has said that sometimes the most heinous crimes, under the right circumstances, can be very low in time for sentences.

rammakeen · 08/06/2019 22:31

I sleep in bed with my son who is 7 months but if I so much as take an antihistamine I put him in his travel cot for the night. This is so, so sad. Poor baby.

NoYo · 08/06/2019 22:37

She ought to be sterilized. I don't believe with all the counselling, rehabilitation and training in the world she could ever amount to anything more than scum as a parent. But shes just the sort who would go on to have another. And another. And another.

Agree entirely.

LagunaBubbles · 08/06/2019 22:51

Put your torches and pitchforks away and try to have some compassion. Nothing anyone says can make her feel any worse than she probably already does. She has lost her child, she made AWFUL decisions, yes, but she is MORE than paying the price. I hate these threads.

She doesn't deserve compassion. And you don't have a clue what she is or isn't feeling. Love how some people are falling over themselves to defend this awful woman and act all superior "oh these threads are terrible", I'm so much better than everyone else.

MashedSpud · 08/06/2019 22:57

You don’t throw a four week old baby into the air or throw them to your sister.
You don’t take a baby or child clubbing.
You don’t get drunk around a baby you’re caring for.
You don’t pick up random men to take back where the baby is staying.

She’s vile. I hope she never has another baby and if so I hope ss take it off her.

Butchyrestingface · 08/06/2019 23:07

This is a series of events and a whole load of shite circumstances around that woman and that baby that led to the death. The mother has been failed, by her family, by the state, by her circumstance

How do you arrive at that conclusion, @Atalune? Do you know her personally? Confused

I thought this thread was gonna be about the bloke just convicted of giving a baby a spin dry. Sounds like he and this woman would be well suited. 🙄

MarthasGinYard · 08/06/2019 23:18

'I thought this thread was gonna be about the bloke just convicted of giving a baby a spin dry. Sounds like he and this woman would be well suited. 🙄'

I guess that poor bloke has been 'failed by the state' too
