Is Donald Trump ill? Otherwise what would explain such imbecility?

Has he missed some 💊 on his international flight? Who visits someone and promptly pisses on the doorstep? His comments about Sadiq Khan are beyond disgraceful. Disgusting creature.

No one said Khan was hard-left. I think you should re-read the post again.

What I said was that it is the preserve of the hard-left to try to shut down free speech, when posters were making out that anyone who disapproved of Khan's infantile actions were in some way trying to "shut him down".

As far as I'm concerned the guy can keep making a tit out of himself, it's no issue to me Wink

Two of you who hold the opinion that any criticism of Donald Trump is overshadowing the D-Day commemorations Isabella.

You and your granddad are entitled to your opinion but other people do not agree, so it's not fair of you and your granddad to dictate to other people how they express their hard-fought right to freedom of expression.

The one thing is not the same as the other.

But I guess you know that.

Lizzie48 · 03/06/2019 16:44

Fantasising about one of the younger royals getting pissed and telling him to fuck off during royal banquet.

Lol. Or Princess Ann. She can be very direct sometimes; when younger she once told a reporter to 'naff off'. Grin

IsabellaLinton · 03/06/2019 16:45

@Lweji

I do apologise. Only 80 million.

Dewdew · 03/06/2019 16:46

@IsItBetter

Fair point, I muddled yours and another poster's comments together.

limitedperiodonly · 03/06/2019 16:46

I understood what you said IsItBetter. I guess some hard-left people would rather Khan shut up. But he won't and I am glad of that

Vulpine · 03/06/2019 16:47

He s doubled the amount of protected bike routes in London which is a good thing.

IsabellaLinton · 03/06/2019 16:47

@limitedperiodonly

I was simply expressing an opinion which he shares. He was there at the time - he’s entitled to it.

Dewdew · 03/06/2019 16:48

I do think hosting a US President, who introduced a policy of child abduction, on a state visit shows how far we have fallen since the Brexit vote. We're firmly in 'beggars can't be choosers' territory now. Please give us a lovely trade deal Donald. Pathetic and desperate.

limitedperiodonly · 03/06/2019 16:56

Of course he is, IsabellaLinton. But it is one opinion and one with which you agree. But not everyone is obliged to follow suit. That's a dangerous concept, and I'd say is the opposite of the values of people who triumphed in WWII, isn't it?

Lweji · 03/06/2019 17:36

I do apologise. Only 80 million.

That's not what you should be apologising for.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 03/06/2019 17:42

Trump and Brexit are 2 cheeks from the same populist arse. Unsurprizing that Brexiteers would support Trump but classic cognitive dissonance when they attack the EU/Juncker et al for "interfering" in UK issues at the same time as brown nosing the POTUS. Take back control? You're about to hand over the NHS to America.

Gth1234 · 03/06/2019 17:43

Irrespective of the discussion between ourselves, and no doubt other chatrooms - what on earth are the BBC doing, apparently gloating and revelling in the protests. Have they formally abandoned all sense of neutrality now?

Helmetbymidnight · 03/06/2019 17:45

Im still really keen to find out why people who object to trump are probably anti-semites?

limitedperiodonly · 03/06/2019 18:04

Do you understand reporting Gth1234 or like Trump, are you unable to scroll down past the BBC and CNN to find Fox News on UK news channels?

It's not BBC gloating to say there will be protests against Trump tomorrow and that the leader of the opposition will be in attendance. It is a fact and is completely neutral.

They had Simon Schama on but they have had plenty of pro-Trump voices. I heard Sir Christopher Meyer an hour ago who trod a fantastic, witty and informed diplomatic tightrope. Trump supporters and detractors could each take something from what he said.

Alsohuman · 03/06/2019 18:21

Well the BBC reporting protest marches is a bit of a novelty. They didn’t report the Revoke march of over 1m people at all.

Lweji · 03/06/2019 18:29

Gth1234
Are you saying the BBC should shut down the news of the protests? That sounds very iron curtain and China and current Russia.

Anniegetyourgun · 03/06/2019 18:35

What have the Romans ever done for us?

Clearly not built enough aqueducts Hmm

limitedperiodonly · 03/06/2019 18:44

I agree Alsohuman. These are editorial decisions but I don't understand how Gth1234 thinks the BBC is 'revelling' in anything.

I've watched their coverage all day along with other TV news channels and would have to say that apart from the lengthy interview with Simon Schama, their reporting was anodyne and leaning to how wonderful the British are at doing pomp and ceremony and then doing vox pop chats with US tourists at Buckingham Palace to see the Changing of the Guard, rather than serious analysis.

Perhaps Gth1234 can come back with an alternative analysis.

Meanwhile, less than 15 minutes to go until Channel 4 News

Gogreen · 03/06/2019 18:48

As someone who is not favourable towards Trump at all I disagree! Our mayor has shown no manners, no professionalism and has clearly just thrown toys out his pram, so what if he doesn’t like trump, act like a adult, we all need to deal with people we don’t like in work, it’s tough.

thaegumathteth · 03/06/2019 18:59

I think it says a lot about trump that when I read the OP I initially thought he had literally pissed on someone’s doorstep.

limitedperiodonly · 03/06/2019 19:00

I'm not sure you have followed it Gogreen.

In case you're interested in getting it right, here is the timeline timeline

Come back when you've read it.

lljkk · 03/06/2019 19:29

Chump is a horrible man, was always going to try to make the D-Day events about him & his agenda. Other people only matter to Chump the extent that they can be used to enhance his egomania.

NeverEverAnythingEver · 03/06/2019 19:29

Who remembers the visit of the Paris mayor?

www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/may/10/sadiq-khan-anne-hidalgo-donald-trump-muslim-ban

"Standing alongside Khan at St Pancras railway station after arriving from Paris, Anne Hidalgo said on Tuesday that people of all religions, including Catholics and Muslims, did not agree with the US presidential candidate, adding: “Mr Trump is so stupid, my God, my God.” "

Grin Grin

Lweji · 03/06/2019 19:35

we all need to deal with people we don’t like in work, it’s tough.

It's not just work, though, is it? It's about basic humanity and respect for democracy, which Trump lacks.

Trump also insults people he has to work with, not least of all Senators and Congresspeople of the USA.
Not to mention the former President.

This is how Khan deals with him. He calls to the naked king.
