I never watched saved by the bell so it's not that

DailyMaui · 01/06/2019 13:35

I'm sure it's an album os singles cover - someone mentioned cartoon people alongside this pattern I thought "YES" but I can't find what I'm looking for.

I've never seen Saved by the Bell and this is something that I instantly recognised as having back in the 80's...

redwoodmazza · 01/06/2019 13:53

I'm pleased to say it means nothing to me!!! LOL.

BusterGonad · 01/06/2019 14:08

I also thought saved by the bell and I wasn't even a huge fan of it.

BusterGonad · 01/06/2019 14:09

I had that Fun Fax!

TheBabyAteMyBrain · 01/06/2019 14:09

It think it's more 90s than 80s

BusterGonad · 01/06/2019 14:14

I just asked google for saved by the bell, looked on images, this is one of my search results.

It's weird that if it's just a generic pattern from the 80s/90s that no one has found anything with it on. You'd think an image search might find all sorts of things with it.

ClapTrapVonTrapp · 01/06/2019 14:16

Top Of The Pops opening/closing titles.

ClapTrapVonTrapp · 01/06/2019 14:16

Or Going Live?

Eliza9919 · 01/06/2019 14:32

@DailyMaui Was it Hey Doug?

supersop60 · 01/06/2019 14:53

I'm also thinking stationery - ring binders etc, as a pp suggested.

ChristmasFluff · 01/06/2019 15:36

I never saw Saved by the Bell, but it's so familiar - I'm thinking an album or single. But I've just spent a few fruitless minutes looking through my records and nothing. So safe to say it isn't Duran Duran or Spandau Ballet :-D. I'm sure that era though.

It looks v Smash Hits magazine

ChristmasFluff · 01/06/2019 15:37

Any Cutlure Club fans? I'm getting that kind of vibe off it.

HeyThoughIWalk · 01/06/2019 15:37

I don't reckon it can be a album - someone would have identified it by now. I'm thinking stationery.

bpirockin · 01/06/2019 16:44

Aaaarrrgh, I hoped someone would have solved this by now. I ever had a skateboard so it isn't that. I've been looking at album covers, leotards, swimming costumes and still no joy. It is not Duran Duran's Rio album either. Somebody please ......

Twotome · 01/06/2019 16:54

So odd that we all know it but not sure where from! Every time someone suggests something I think ‘that’s it!’ Only to find it is not Grin

Is it on the cover of Soft Cell, Tainted Love?

Iooselipssinkships · 01/06/2019 17:01

Zzaap programme from CITV in the 90s. Watched an episode with the kids last week.
Ohhh I love the handy men and Daisy Dares You

Eliza9919 · 01/06/2019 17:38

Was it off Timmy Mallet's show?

augustusglupe · 01/06/2019 17:51

I’ve a few culture club albums, Duran too, but no...Haircut 100, talking heads, kid creole, nick kershaw, Howard Jones, modern romance, lynx, junior... Christ I’m googling every lightweight 80s pop groups I can think of!!
The first thing DH said this morning was ‘has anyone said what it is yet’ Grin
It’s driving us mad!!

MyOtherProfile · 01/06/2019 17:59

Look at this!

TheBabyAteMyBrain · 01/06/2019 19:03

It's going to be something annoyingly boring like the inside cover of a set of school books or a shellsuit!

I'm calling Mandela Effect... Of sorts.

CrispbuttyNo1 · 01/06/2019 22:43

It's definitely an album or single cover from the 80s. It's driving me mad.

PackingSoap · 02/06/2019 00:05

someone mentioned cartoon people alongside this pattern I thought "YES" but I can't find what I'm looking for.

That was me. I found the cartoon character I was thinking of: Fido Dido.

I think the pattern is a memphis rip-off that was possibly used in a big way in the late 80s for products for kids and teens in the UK. The pattern, particularly the colour palette, isn't actually memphis design quality; it's too muggy. This is possibly why we can't find it on Google.

I'm going with a WHSmith set of stationery and pencil tins from the late 80s. This sort of thing would be why we all know it because it was ubiquitous at the time if you were young.
