I am sure I remember this being a patten on a vinyl seat somewhere, possibly McDonalds or Wimpy or another fast food place.

Wasn't it from Top of the Pops? When they did the Top 40 countdown, with a photo of the band and this pattern as the border around the photo? Or am I imagining it?!

I agree with this, except I don't think it's the album cover, I think it's the inner sleeve

I keep thinking bus seats as well.

You can tell by the picture itself it's something physically infront of the person taking the photo, the left side is wonky and there's something at the bottom.

I am WAY over invested in this.

Arghh this is so frustrating - looks so familiar! I was convinced saved by the bell too. I've been racking my brains (and YouTube!) - so far tried art attack, funhouse, fresh prince, rock's modern life, ren and stimpy... nothing!! I know this picture, the answer must be somewhere in my brain 😫😫

The picture is of the skateboard mastermind It's the pattern from skateboard we're trying to place.

The imagine is definitely taken from the skateboard you can see the little girl's finger at the top of the zoomed in picture and also the black bit of the wheel at the bottom. I think someone has taken something very similar to see how long they can get people to spend looking

This is still driving me mad. It looks SO familiar. I think its defo mid to late 80s. Possibly the WHSMITH stationery comment is correct.

This is doing my head in, anyone have the answer yet? It is nothing only UK based (like GSCE mentioned above) as I am in Ireland. Probably something on Nickelodeon!

I don't think it's an exclusively WHS pattern, as we don't have them here in NI, but I definitely still recognise it.

It's a design called Memphis Style by the Memphis Group. It was literally everywhere for quite a long while.

It suddenly came in to my head this morning that I had a pencil with this on it! I’m so relieved to figure out where I know it from. I think i had the pencil case too so goes with the stationary thing PPs have suggested. belfast I’m NI as well it would have been Woolworths for me we got stuff like that. Damntheman yes it was a popular pattern but we’re trying to find this one specially with these exact colours etc.
