They're stretchy and comfortable, not because they're "sexy"?

OP posts:
S1naidSucks · 26/05/2019 19:23

Send that person my way, OP. I’m currently wearing leggings because I’ve put on two stone in the last year and I’m too fat for my jeans. Like fuck will he find me sexy. I look a big black bag of spuds. 🤣

Camomila · 26/05/2019 19:23

gym leggings can look quite sexy I suppose.

I don't really like leggings, I find tights comfier with dresses.

Thatsnotmyotter · 26/05/2019 19:23

Tbf my arse looks quite decent in a pair of leggings.

tor8181 · 26/05/2019 19:26

ive never wore a pair of leggings ever as they are always to short for me(35 leg)

i do love jeggings though

mindproject · 26/05/2019 19:26

I don't want to look sexy. If I did, I might attract a man and I really don't want to do that.

BenWillbondsPants · 26/05/2019 19:28

I very rarely see anyone in a dress/tunic and leggings, I can't remember the last time. It's all jeggings, dresses, lots of cigarette pants round here.

NatureWillDeleteTheEvidence · 26/05/2019 19:28

I wear leggings for comfort, mobility and lack of anything loose to get trapped in machinery etc. at work. More durable than tights, too.

ambereeree · 26/05/2019 19:28

Leggings and a dress is mum uniform! Flattering and practical.

MitziK · 26/05/2019 19:28

I wear gym leggings for housework because I'm too fucking tired to go to the gym rather than risk ruining a perfectly good pair of jeans and they're easy to move around in.

DP thinks they're sexy. But then again, he also thinks that I look sexy when wearing a knackered t-shirt and a pair of greying big knickers, so he knows nothing.

LilithTheKitty · 26/05/2019 19:28

I do wear them instead of tights with dresses, but only for work because I can't wear tights or have bare legs. (Work in a lab - tights melted into your skin if a spillage occurs is not a good look.) Otherwise they're for the gym and for housework because they're so comfy!

ShesABelter · 26/05/2019 19:29

Hate leggings.

Breathlessness · 26/05/2019 19:29

I have M&S heat gen ones for winter. Comfy, toasty, not sexy, especially when worn around the house with my collection of festive jumpers and sweatshirts.

grumpycatgrumpycat · 26/05/2019 19:30

My legs look like tree trunks in them. Definitely not alluring but flipping comfortable with a longer length top!

Purplejay · 26/05/2019 19:30

I wear then because they are comfy, they wash well, don’t need ironing and are fairly cheap. I buy Sainsbury’s luxury leggings and I love them. They are not see through, stay up and have a thicker waist band than some. I wear them almost every day, with a long top, tunic or dress (I even have some joe brown ones). Not trying to be sexy, just presentable and comfy. I am size 18. They are much more flattering than a skirt or trousers and short top.

Esspee · 26/05/2019 19:31

I'm another one who wouldn't be seen dead in them. If I was tall and slim and wanted to draw attention to myself then perhaps I would.
Frankly most women look awful in them.

bluewavysea · 26/05/2019 19:31

I love them, such good value for money too. I just bought a white pair on offer for £1 in Primark. Saving them for a nice summer's day to wear under a dress.

Esspee · 26/05/2019 19:33

Tell me, do you all wash them every day? I do wonder.

PeoniesarePink · 26/05/2019 19:35

I live in them! But I only buy thick ponte ones that are a size bigger than I need, and wear either a short dress or long tunic with them.

They look horrendous when you can see someone's backside in them Grin

kidsmakesomuchwashing · 26/05/2019 19:36

Love leggings. I'm tall and most dresses would be too short on me to wear without leggings.

ChristmasFluff · 26/05/2019 19:39

Goth.

My leggings have always been to be goth. Hence designed to repulse most men (because I do want to repulse most men) , which is probably the opposite of 'sexy'.

Game over?

NewAccount270219 · 26/05/2019 19:39

I think some of the people who think they never see people wearing leggings and dresses sometimes think they're thick tights when they're actually leggings - in winter, with boots, you sometimes have to look quite closely to tell. That or you live somewhere super fashionable, because it isn't really a fashion look - but it's a really, really common one 'in real life'

BlackForestCake · 26/05/2019 19:41

"sexy harlot mantempting trousers of sin" would definitely sell better than "leggings" though. Primark are missing a trick.

NewAccount270219 · 26/05/2019 19:42

Where I live and where I work about a third of all the women on any given day are wearing something that looks more or less like this. Including, quite often, me.

To think most women wear leggings because...
Fraxion · 26/05/2019 19:42

I only ever wear them for lounging about the house (like now) or gym leggings for exercise. Can't imagine wearing them with a dress, would feel too bulky for me.

Trebla · 26/05/2019 19:43

Because I like wearing dresses as tunics and can't be arsed to shave my legs as regularly.
