They're stretchy and comfortable, not because they're "sexy"?

Leggings are my least sexy outfit! I started wearing them PP and they are far too comfy and scruffy to be sexy. Plus I wear them with oversized T-shirts and jumpers or shirts so nah not for me!

onegiftedgal · 28/05/2019 15:44

If you don't think a dress looks good on you without leggings, then either don't wear it or wear tights.
Leggings are just a beacon to highlight how you feel self conscious regarding your body.
Get out of the doldrums and find clothes that look good.
They can be used as clothing for exercise.

AsleepAllDay · 28/05/2019 23:34

@onegiftedgal that's rude. Lately I've been wearing leggings to account for the change of the weather or instead of shaving!

You are being judgemental when people are simply posting their preferences and opinions. It's easy to mouth off behind a screen, would you say this to a woman's face?

Jon65 · 29/05/2019 01:33

Leggings in fairness look pretty shit on most people, but they should wear what they like, and they do . . ..

KooMoo · 29/05/2019 05:13

Am I the only MNer that doesn’t even own a pair of leggings 🤷‍♀️

Never see them for sale but never really thought to look for them either.

Am I missing out?

Mominatrix · 29/05/2019 07:21

KooMoo, not even a pair for exercise? What do you workout in?

LarryGreysonsDoor · 29/05/2019 07:28

Not everyone exercises or works out.

TheOrigFV45 · 29/05/2019 08:01

I wear running tights/leggings a lot, because I run a lot!
I wear them for comfort.

I never wear leggings for normal wear as I think I look like I'm just about to go for a run!!

I used to wear them first time round in the early/mid 80s - baggy knees and all what with Lycra not being invented yet!

Vulpine · 29/05/2019 08:04

I wear them a fair bit too but I also do a fair bit of exercise and I have great arse and legs so nothing to hide!

NCforthis2019 · 29/05/2019 08:09

How do you know most women OP? I use leggings when it’s cold. 🤷🏻‍♀️

User8888888 · 29/05/2019 08:25

Do the leggings under dress haters object to footless tights too? Unless it’s 25 degrees plus, I’m not wearing a dress without tights or leggings but I also like wearing sandals which make leggings v practical.

I don’t know wear people live that don’t see people with dresses and leggings as I see it in most parts of London, where I live in the south east, where my parents live in the south west etc.

Sproink · 29/05/2019 09:10

I must admit that I don't see it very often or, at least, I don't notice it.

teacakes44 · 29/05/2019 17:28

Very practical & comfy - great with wellies when dog walking but think they should come with a health warning. Put your jeans back on to remind you your waist is expanding- leggings just grow with you. Some people don’t mind but I do so leggings, lovely & comfy as they are do not feature too regularly for me!

Numbersaremything · 29/05/2019 19:27

This morning I put on a dress as the sun was shining. By 10am it was accessorised with thick bright tights, boots and a chunky cardigan. My leggings stayed at home, but I'm only just starting to warm up. I thought of allm9f you.

cccameron · 30/05/2019 16:04

That's a resounding yes. Especially if you are planning on wearing them with sandals. The horror!! Grin

AvocadoYUK · 30/05/2019 16:41

Christ I've never heard any woman describe leggings as sexy! Always "comfy and practical" x
