They're stretchy and comfortable, not because they're "sexy"?

Hi i know my post was in the rong place but I have tried following the instructions for starting new thread , but it does not work for me.

supermommyof4 · 28/05/2019 00:07

I wear them because there comfy. But they can be made to look sexy if you buy the right type and team them up with boots or heels. My partner does like them on me but i have always had a rounded bottom and shapely legs.

DameSquashalot · 28/05/2019 04:54

I find them much more comfy than thick tights. Sometimes I want my legs covered, but not my feet in that in between weather.

I would only wear them under a skirt or dress though. I'm not blessed with a nice enough figure

omione · 28/05/2019 06:07

Best everyday leggings at the moment are from Poundland, i live in them when i am at home, the pair i have on now are 2 years old and still in one piece. The even have cropped ones for the summer

Mumof1andacat · 28/05/2019 06:17

I don't wear them as they are unforgiving on any lumps and bumps I have.

threatmatrix · 28/05/2019 08:31

I don’t think leggings look good on anyone. I believe it’s a lazy way to dress and when you look around at people who wear them they mainly look awful

Skyejuly · 28/05/2019 08:52

I don't dress for anyone else. Dont care what anyone thinks. I just like to be comfy!

kateandme · 28/05/2019 08:53

comfrotable.worn with anything and anyday.
but when my mum wears hers with a lovely long jumper dress i think she looks rather pretty/sexy actually.
but sexy in that way no

kateandme · 28/05/2019 08:54

tu ones are the best

disneyspendingmoney · 28/05/2019 09:26

Had anyone mentioned men in leggings and jeggings at all? I find it quite odd this trend for middle-aged dude wearing cycle courier leggings and baggy shorts. And man jeggings/leggings I ought a pair once not comfortable and I wasn't prepared to go out in public -they just looked and felt wrong

Inertia · 28/05/2019 09:27

I don’t think leggings tights look good on anyone. I believe it’s a lazy ridiculous way to dress and when you look around at people who wear them they mainly look awful uncomfortable.

Leggings under dresses/ tunics- much more comfortable than tights, which were surely invented as some kind of punishment.

Gym leggings- great for the gym.

Leggings worn with short tops- not for me , but I guess it suits/ is comfortable for some people.

How is it a lazy way to dress? It's no lazier than throwing on jeans and a t shirt.

Now people who wear thin leggings as trousers and you can see the print on their knickers, I'll agree that's not a good look at all.
But given how versatile leggings are, I'm not sure how you can decide they are a lazy way to dress and look horrible

redspider1 · 28/05/2019 10:23

Sweeping statement alert inertia!

ToastyFingers · 28/05/2019 10:36

I only wear leggings around the house, or maybe on late night run to the corner shop and they are the comfiest things on earth.

DH thinks they're sexy (on me at least), he says they make my (ample) arse look good and are nice and soft to touch, unlike jeans.

Igotmylipstickon · 28/05/2019 11:25

I have leopard print leggings that my dh thinks are sexy. He also likes my black ones as they give my legs a good shape.

I loves me leggings.

Babyfacemortified · 28/05/2019 11:27

I wear them purely for comfort and feel anything but sexy in them but DP always comments on how he loves when I wear my 'sexy pants' Hmm

ralfeesmum · 28/05/2019 11:48

It's to (literally) accommodate the obesity epidemic. Women kid themselves that "if I can get into leggings then how can I be fat?"

ralfeesmum · 28/05/2019 11:50

And the late Karl Lagerfeld is credited with saying "you stopped making an effort so you gave in and bought sweatpants."

Ditto leggings/jeggings.

sonjadog · 28/05/2019 11:53

I don't think that is true. It would work with jeans as they aren't stretchy, but I think everyone knows that leggings are stretchy and if you can get into them, it is because they are stretching.

AsleepAllDay · 28/05/2019 12:02

They're warmer than tights and won't fall down. I usually wear mine with a dress or long top/jumper. Definitely makes me feel a bit slimmer but honestly... prefer them to trousers

idontlikebirthdaycake · 28/05/2019 12:03

I live in leggings, but that's because my other clothes would get ruined having two little girls under the age of five. They're the comfiest things in the world and I don't care who sees me in them.

Leggings aren't meant to be sexy, they're made for comfort. I was under the belief that leggings were loungewear

spikyplants · 28/05/2019 12:16

I hate the chafing/dropping gusset/aggravated chub rub thing with tights, so I live in leggings under dresses. And yes, I'm a bit Joe Browns Grin

TowerRingInferno · 28/05/2019 12:43

I hate the feel of them. I look and feel frumpy and very unsexy if wearing them (so don’t). Some tall thin women look ok in them, I think.

elderflowercordialwithice · 28/05/2019 13:14

Leggings worn in place of tights - fine
Leggings worn in place of trousers - nope
White leggings (unless under something quite long) - no no no (they show EVERY lump and bump)
Flesh coloured leggings - no under any circumstances.

I wear them for the gym but that's it.

KissUntilTheyDieOfRabies · 28/05/2019 14:50

I wear 3/4 length ones under teensy ridiculous Goth skirts which only the skinniest women (and men) wear without leggings (but they also tend to team them up with extremely fetishy undergarments too).

I don't find them sexy. But I do think that on my plump thighs they reduce the lack of unsexy.

I dislike anything close fitting but I manage with these a bit, because they don't go past my knees (because I end up pulling them up practically under my armpits!)
