They're stretchy and comfortable, not because they're "sexy"?

I'm puzzled by the dresses over leggings hate from some of you. It's no different from dresses over thick tights.

I mentioned pages back that it's a very common look for female cyclists in Copenhagen and Amsterdam. They look very pretty and feminine.

There was a weird phase of wearing dresses over jeans a few years ago. That was pretty awful.

I’m always wearing White Stuff dresses over leggings. With either ballet flats or sandals. Perhaps it’s not the most fashionable outfit but I think I look nice.

Absolutely! With leggings, it’s even better in the warmer weather as you can wear sandals with them.

When it is a bit colder I wear them under a dress to keep my legs warm.

In fact leggings are my go to sexy outfit. Especially sports leggings. With a short top

If anyone goes to Royal Ballet cinema screenings you will know they often have backstage, rehearsal sections to fill in the interval. Lots of the dancers wear wrap around skirts/ short dresses over leggings.

Leggings under dresses was very fashionable in about 2004/2005

Right now, leggings have 3 uses:
PJs,
your lightest slimming world outfit. (You all know)
Or comfort under a baggy jumper or jumper dress in winter as long as your indoors.

Maybe... as a substitute for tights if your going out and want warmth and have no thick tights BUT they need to be concealed as tights with boots. No ankles on show.

Leggings are to clothing what crocs are to shoes.

I think my dislike for leggings under dresses comes from some flashbacks of my staple uni outfit - t-shirt, denim mini skirt, leggings (possibly even 3/4 length if warmer) and ballet pumps. It was all the rage then but not so good looking back on it.

I doubt I look sexy, but I do feel very comfy as I sit here in my leggings!

Oh dear @Axcap I’m rather older than the average uni student and sat here in leggings, denim skirt, and a top! It’s a fairly go to outfit for me as it’s simple, comfy, and (I thought!) fairly flattering. I also wear them under longer tops / shorter dresses.

Very single day dress and leggings. I don’t care if others think it’s not “fashionable” I look good and no one has ever made a comment I’m “2008”
Just be thankful the leggings are there as you DONT want to see my bare legs and I look even worse in jeans / trousers 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think its because if worn with a short top, they can be see through and always cling to every curve so they show that area and any underwear worn very clearly.
Ultimately, some people are sexy no matter in what

I have definitely seen people wear them in a sexy way ie its see through, thong is hoiked up and showing, crop top, lots of cleavage.. I dont know if they intended to look sexy or not but it looks 'sexy'.

sorry to be crude but if someone has a hot body or someone is such a lech everything will seem sexy

if a guy said to me he finds leggings hot i would be seriously turned off him.

I'm another Lucy locket leggings wearer and my dp likes the way I look in them! It's great, dp thinks I look sexy and I am comfortable. Also if the IBS decides to flare up I can still breathe.

I'm a size six and a bit of a gym bunny. I have been told that I have a very nice bum, and not just by my OH . However, I only wear leggings for the gym or keep fit related activities.

Bare legs or tights under skirts or dresses.

Leggings are from a different decade for me. I wear them for the gym but that's it. I don't know anyone who wears them now.

It's great, dp thinks I look sexy and I am comfortable.

Tall I think you'll be disappointed to learn that the majority of men would find leggings sexy if worn by someone with a good body.

Can't think why you'd be "seriously turned off" by the thought of a man who finds clingy clothing attractive...that's a pretty basic turn on!

Hate wearing jeans all the time they are not comfortable and don’t really wear “trousers” so leggings or jeggings are great alternatives. They are comfortable and go with everything. I have a really thick black pair with a big waist band from Zara that look lovely with heels and a nice top, I have nice Nike ones that are great for going for a walk or doing yoga and I have a couple of pairs for under long tops or shirts. Leggings are great!

Nothing sexy about leggings. They're more like sausage casings.

I love leggings because they're comfy and stretchy.

I love leggings, because they're cheap, and comfy, and flattering (with the right top/tunic), and easy to wear. But I dress for myself, and sexy doesn't really come into it. Which is lucky. And even if I did look sexy, the only person whose opinion matters to me would take them straight off anyway.

I love mine. I like i can wear long jumpers or dresses with them without worrying how far they creep up. As for sexy does it not depend on the type and how they are worn? I mean the skin tight ones with the right fabric are a bit like Sandy from Grease. Mine are worn pretty much in the way you would wear tights but mainly for comfort. Yoga, lazy days or just to grab and go.

I sort of agree if you're talking about wearing leggings as trousers e.g. with a short top, rather than as tights or with a long top.
