Just that really. I want to make an informed decision but really don't know who should get my vote. Am thinking Lib Dems - good balance of wanting a People's Vote and prioritising climate change. Help!

Green...obviously the only choice if we want a future for our kids.

OVienna · 23/05/2019 22:21

Lib Dem

OVienna · 23/05/2019 22:22

@Arlenia I feel exactly the same.Sad

Bouledeneige · 23/05/2019 23:12

I voted Lib Dem for their consistent position on remain. But I was glad my DD, who voted for the first time, voted Change UK. The app on tactical voting said Lib Dems would do well here in London so the best tactical vote for remain would be for Change UK.

I hope the Conservatives and Labour are obliterated.

1CantPickAName · 23/05/2019 23:21

LibDem I'm normally a labour voter but I fully support remain, I had to vote for a definitely remain party. I initially wanted to support Green but I've always been led to believe that a vote for a 'minor' party (ie: not one of the main 3), so it had to be LibDem.

I am shocked at the amount of MN's who used websites to help make their choice? I didn't get much information on the parties through the post, but, does it really take that much time to look at the websites of the different parties and make your own, informed, decision on how to vote?

HollaHolla · 23/05/2019 23:31

SNP - I’m in Scotland, obviously.
For the first time ever.
I’m remain, and think a Change UK vote would have been wasted in my area.
If the choice was independence, and staying in the EU, I’d take that over staying in the UK, and leaving the EU. sadly.

Whatafustercluck · 23/05/2019 23:40

There seemed to be lots of people coming and going as well, however I'm in a Leave constituency so that's probably not a good sign.

Well, if it's any reassurance, in the local elections my area went from Tory to LibDem because of the remain vote. Woman at the polling station for my area said turnout was markedly up on previous EU elections. I am trying hard to be wary of confirmation bias. Can't believe we won't find out till Sunday.

I voted Green with a spring in my step. I've only ever voted Labour before. Dh did the same, as did both by sisters.

Yabbers · 24/05/2019 00:07

Didn’t vote. Still can’t see why it would have made a difference.

HollaHolla · 24/05/2019 00:22

Afraid it’s the old adage.... don’t vote, can’t complain.....

Bartlet · 24/05/2019 00:25

Voted for Lib Dem but the whole thing was deeply depressing

AlexaShutUp · 24/05/2019 00:42

I went for Green in the end, though was still deliberating between Green and LibDems in the booth. I looked at the Remain United and Remain Voter websites as I wanted to vote tactically to maximise the impact of my vote. However, their advice was conflicting as one said to vote green in my area and the other said to go for LibDem.

In the end, I went with my gut and chose Green because, although Brexit was the key issue for me in this election, climate change is ultimately just as important and we need to take urgent action.

I used to vote Labour but cannot support their position on Brexit. It will be interesting to see how badly the two big parties are hit.

CountFosco · 24/05/2019 07:08

Are the people unaware that there is an election today the same people who went on about Britain not having a say in the working of the EU?

That could be an advantage for the remain vote. But I suspect I live in a remain bubble.

ethelfleda · 24/05/2019 07:26

When will we know the results?

Acis · 24/05/2019 07:31

Sunday

LaLaLanded · 24/05/2019 07:32

@ethelfleda we should know on Sunday, perhaps Monday.

I voted Green. Which DS gleefully announced to the entire polling station! Fine though - everyone around here will be voting Green I suspect, or Lib Dem. Like many on here I too was deliberating in the booth but in years to come I feel I will not personally regret that decision, so Green it is.

BertrandRussell · 24/05/2019 07:36

Out polling booth was much busier than it usually is - although that’s not saying much. And a significant majority of the people there when I was are Brexiters.

tardyheart · 24/05/2019 07:40

DP and I both voted Green, first time ever. My parents did too, first time they have changed who they voted for.

Speaking to the staff at the polling station they had a higher turn out than expected and more younger voters than expected. Which is pleasing.

We are in a Brexit heartland so don't expect much change, but at least we have had a say.

SushiGo · 24/05/2019 08:01

It was busy in our polling station too, but I went at a different time of day to usual so can't compare.

One of the people I saw was horrible racist neighbour which felt like a bad omen for the local result. But we'll see. I'm glad there's a few days for the result.

Tiscold · 26/05/2019 12:17

Results are tonight, predicting a landslide for brexit party unfortunately, with libdems next, possibly labour vs green for third

Bouledeneige · 26/05/2019 12:43

Tiscold - where are you seeing predictions or exit polls? I thought it was against electoral law for the media to speculate on results until after all the polls have closed? And some countries in the EU are still voting today.

Tiscold · 26/05/2019 13:23

No they're my predictions, what i think will happen
