Just that really. I want to make an informed decision but really don't know who should get my vote. Am thinking Lib Dems - good balance of wanting a People's Vote and prioritising climate change. Help!

AbsoluteGonk · 23/05/2019 11:02

I meant, I hated the coalition too but have just voted LibDem.

ElenadeClermont · 23/05/2019 11:06

Same here.

bellinisurge · 23/05/2019 11:07

@Yabbers , please vote. I don't care who you vote for (well, I do a bitGrin) but you must vote. This is not First Past The Post. This is different. Chances are your choice will get at least one MEP. If it's the Brexit Party, so be it.

BertrandRussell · 23/05/2019 11:09

Yep- voting is actually even more important in these elections. If that is possible.

Unfinishedkitchen · 23/05/2019 11:29

I overheard a guy in the lift at work say that his wife’s not voting because she can’t stand CorbynHmm If this complete misunderstanding of what the EU elections are about is widespread, Nigel (no manifesto - just wants to continue getting EU wage) Farage will walk it. Bangs head on table.

Bluebluered · 23/05/2019 12:04

Ok, I’ll vote Lib Dem. I don’t agree with them or like them, but if it’s for the greater good, then I’ll do it.

Bin85 · 23/05/2019 12:57

What I don't understand is how to choose which candidate to vote for
There are lots of Lib Dem's where I am
Wouldn't it be better for everyone to get behind the same candidate ?

Patchworksack · 23/05/2019 12:58

Lib Dem, tactical vote.

Bin85 · 23/05/2019 13:02

So there are 10 Brexit candidates, 10 Lib Dem's etc
Is it best to just vote for the one at the top of the list of the party you want ?
Sorry should have researched this more

Alaimo · 23/05/2019 13:04

@Bin85 Do you mean which party or which candidate within the LibDems?

If the latter, you don't vote for a candidate, you vote for a party. The party will have decided who their top candidate is (the first name on the ballot), who the second, third and so, and the votes will be distributed accordingly.

Bin85 · 23/05/2019 13:04

Thank you very much Patchworksack

Alaimo · 23/05/2019 13:05

@Bin85. The ballot looks like this: <a class="break-all" href="https://images-i.jpimedia.uk/imagefetch/inews.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/ukdsi_9780111101223_en_001-1.gif" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">images-i.jpimedia.uk/imagefetch/inews.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/ukdsi_9780111101223_en_001-1.gif

As you can see, you vote for a party, not an individual.

Bin85 · 23/05/2019 13:05

And Alaimo that's a lot clearer

Onemorefortheroad · 23/05/2019 13:07

In Scotland and voting SNP.

tiredvommachine · 23/05/2019 13:12

Green, for the first time ever.

Needadoughnut · 23/05/2019 13:13

In the SW and voting LibDem, granted I don't like Boris' sister BUT I didn't like how the Greens campaigned nor how they're in denial about nuclear energy being the best solution fossil fuels (in terms of producing electricity).

TwitterQueen1 · 23/05/2019 13:18

I voted Lib Dem. There is so much that's wrong with the EU and with our own domestic policies - the removal of the social care network for eg and I do think drastic change is called for. We need an end to austerity, we need a focus on helping and empowering people - whether they are immigrants or not.

kikisparks · 23/05/2019 13:31

DH and I swithered over green but voting SNP (by proxy).

lickthewrapper · 23/05/2019 13:32

Green. Lib Dems helped the Tories into power and enabled austerity, directly contributing to this Brexit shambles.

DioneTheDiabolist · 23/05/2019 13:33

Independent. I cant remember his name and have no idea what he stands for, but he's got some posters done and put them up on lampposts.

Then, I'll vote Alliance (a good bet this election), Greens, SDLP, any other Independants on the ballot paper, Sinn Fein, Ulster Unionist.Smile

I'm in NI and we vote like fuck.Grin

Paddington68 · 23/05/2019 13:33

Lib Dem.
Usually Labour but I don't understand if we/they are remain or leave.

tickingthebox · 23/05/2019 14:08

so look at the tactical voting websites - one says vote changeuk the other lib dem - which is it?

GimmieTheCoffeeAndNooneDies · 23/05/2019 14:22

Lib Dem, was also considering Green or Change, but not convinced Change has enough support.

Would usually be Labour, but their Brexit stance sucks big balls. Plus their leaflets are going on about 'bobbies on the beat'. What the fuck that is to do with the EU?

Topseyt · 23/05/2019 14:31

Do those who are apparently unaware that there is a vote today never listen to or watch any news bulletins? It has been on all for several weeks now.
