And if so, how will you vote?
I want to vote tactically against the Brexit Party so I am thinking LibDems. But knowing mn and it’s very politically engaged (not to mention intelligent) posters, I thought I would put this out there Wink

I haven't received a card

I don't think you actually need one

teyem · 20/05/2019 14:23

Yes. I'm voting lib-dem. Like others, I'd have voted for Change UK but they seem to have lost all momentum.

irregularegular · 20/05/2019 14:24

though remain voter says to vote Change. Hmmmm

PlumCakeChica · 20/05/2019 14:29

Lib Dem

SheSnapsThenSheFarts · 20/05/2019 14:30

Already voted Green by postal vote

HiJuice · 20/05/2019 14:30

Still go even if you have no card - it sometimes takes them weeks to send out but you might be on the list if you registered within the last few days

grumiosmum · 20/05/2019 14:34

Voting Green.

Thecabbageassasin · 20/05/2019 14:34

Told to vote green by remain site.

So little info out there, had plenty of leaflets from sodding UKIP though.

Not even had a voting card round here.

teyem · 20/05/2019 14:37

Yeah, DH got a leaflet from ukip. They clearly don't know he's the foreigner in our house Grin Otherwise, we've had nothing.

AuntieUrsula · 20/05/2019 14:37

I found this UCL blog helpful:

ucl-brexit.blog

Basically, it seems to depend on which region you're in. In large regions (like SE) with many MEPS it doesn't matter so much whether you go Lib Dem/Green/other

LizzieSiddal · 20/05/2019 14:38

I wanted to vote Change UK, but am going to go with Lib Dems, as they did well in the local elections.

Twooter · 20/05/2019 14:39

If he very wary voting SNP unless you want Scottish independence. It might only be the European elections but a strong swing to the SNP will be interpreted as pro-Indy rather than anti-brexit

TheFormidableMrsC · 20/05/2019 14:42

I will be voting Green (athough I wouldn't normally) but for tactical voting in my area. I have also received a load of sodding Ukip leaflets! What an utter shitshow this all is. I would have voted Labour (and that is a massive swing for me) but have lost all confidence currently. I am hoping that they will buck their ideas up by the time a GE comes around.

81Byerley · 20/05/2019 14:45

I'm a member of the Labour Party. I'm voting Lib Dem.

MrPan · 20/05/2019 14:47

Was Labour member, now voting for Greens as the website advises.

Tavannach · 20/05/2019 14:47

How do I know whether Green or Lib Dem is the best tactical remain vote?

It depends where you live.

Remain voter is the site you want.
It has crunched the numbers and come up with recommendations for undecided Remain voters, dependant on region. (Not Remain United, which is not so nuanced)

www.remainvoter.com/

Labour is not a Remain supporting party. Jeremy Corbyn has been more than clear about that so now is not the time to let misguided party loyalty cloud your voting intention. Voting for a Remain supporting party at this election doesn't mean you can never vote Labour again.

This link explains how Remain Voter arrive at its conclusion.

Pinkmonkeybird · 20/05/2019 14:48

I've already done my postal vote - Green Party

teyem · 20/05/2019 14:49

Grin Byerley Really? I can't believe how much of a mess Labour is in.

ShesABelter · 20/05/2019 14:49

I will be voting snp..I want independance now.

Derbee · 20/05/2019 14:50

Voted LibDems. But feel frustrated that the remain votes will be shared between parties like Change etc

JumpingFrogs · 20/05/2019 14:51

remainvoter.com does a break down for each region, based on which remain party they think has the most realistic chance of gaining a seat that would otherwise go to a Brexit supporting party. The advice is different for each region so it's well worth looking.

Ihaventgottimeforthis · 20/05/2019 14:51

I'm going to go Green again I think. Molly SC has done a good job as an MEP.

Tavannach · 20/05/2019 14:52

Sorry, you'll have to follow the Smart Voting link on the Remain Voter page for the explanation of how tactical voting works under the d'Hondt system. Will take you to Our Approach page.
Not coming up as a link.

bestbefore · 20/05/2019 14:52

I genuinely am lost about what's the point of voting in this election (aside from out of principle that we should vote) - aren't we leaving the EU at some point and at that point all these euro MPs will be out on their ears - probably by Christmas latest? What's the point???

fedup21 · 20/05/2019 14:52

I am really confused.

This is a massively pro Brexit area with Labour as a clear second. The Lib Dems though were nowhere to be seen at the recent local elections. Does that mean they are statistically not likely to do well?
