To think throwing milkshakes over people is disgusting?

So apparently it’s okay to chuck milkshakes over people we disagree with?

Now, I do not like Tommy Robinson, Carl Sargon, or Farage. However, I think that chucking cold food at them, or threatening to, is pathetic. If you disagree with them, then debate them. Take down their argument intelligently. Chucking a cheap milkshake makes you look like a toddler.

The police escorted a huge group of masked men to protest against TR. they are called the ‘Muslim Defence League’.
I can’t imagine that they would lead a masked EDL protest anywhere.
I’m sure there’ll be people on here leaping to the defence of this double standard though 🤷‍♀️

Southwestten · 24/05/2019 11:17

So if there’s cctv evidence of the pensioner ‘willingly allowing’ someone to pour milkshake over him presumably this evidence will come to light sooner or later?

RiversDisguise · 24/05/2019 11:19

Is it not obvious? Pensioners are likely to be physically frail and unable or unwilling to defend themselves. Which is why the 19 year old from New Jersey attacked the 81 year old in the Trump MAGA hat. And that Democrat rep filmed himself abusing the old woman who was protesting outside an abortion clinic. Attacking the elderly is easy as the chance of retaliation is reduced. And self-described 'progressive' people label everyone else fascists to justify all such attacks.

That is why they are cunts.

Throwing milkshakes at anyone is wrong. But the sight of that old man really fucking upsets me. He's not likely to swing back, is he. Cowardly little cunts.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 24/05/2019 11:20

this evidence will come to light sooner or later

I assume it will be proved one way or the other

On an earlier twitter link someone said that it was a sad world when they hoped someone had splashed him...because the alternative was worse

BertrandRussell · 24/05/2019 11:20

“The aggressor was shocked when JP turned round and smacked him on the beak for his efforts“
I much prefer Ed Miliband’s stylish response.

Coquillage · 24/05/2019 11:21

Hopefully he'll be a bit more careful when opening his cherry yogurt today.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 24/05/2019 11:21

What did ed do?

BertrandRussell · 24/05/2019 11:21

“Throwing milkshakes at anyone is wrong. But the sight of that old man really fucking upsets me. He's not likely to swing back, is he. Cowardly little cunts.”

And if it turns out to be a “stunt” will you say “Oh, poor little old man- he didn’t really know what he was doing?”

“The perfect victim” mentality is alive and well here.

I thought we had a “we believe you” policy on Mumsnet?

You appear to resent the deference and respect that is traditionally accorded to the elderly.

I don't use belittling language like that as I know too fucking well what dementia is.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 24/05/2019 11:34

Thank you coq

Alsohuman · 24/05/2019 11:35

I know what dementia is too. I’m not stupid enough to classify a whole generation as frail or vulnerable though. I’m a pensioner and l’m neither nor are any of my friends.

It was obviously a stunt.

RiversDisguise · 24/05/2019 11:45

Ok. You're a pensioner. I'm a very fit and strong 34 year old. No way would it be right for me, or my 40 year old rugby playing brothers, to assault you.

If this point is controversial to you merely because the victim in the given case was pro Brexit, you need your moral code resetting. You don't go for people who are physically weaker than you are, ffs.

Coquillage · 24/05/2019 11:46

The yoghurt is the true victim. I wonder if it was a posh one or a multipack one. Hmmm.

Lifecraft · 24/05/2019 11:47

Always a rational argument to call your opponent thick.

Irrational arguments are perfectly legal. Physical assault is not.

Alsohuman · 24/05/2019 11:48

It wouldn’t be right for you or your brothers to assault me however old I was. However, if I encouraged you to ....

RiversDisguise · 24/05/2019 11:55

No shit, of course it would be assault. But it would certainly attract more opprobrium from the public and very likely a harsher sentence if my brothers attacked an elderly person rather than each other.

RiversDisguise · 24/05/2019 11:58

Re: encouragent- consent can be given to assault, but it's not a straightforward issue.

woman19 · 24/05/2019 13:30

The yoghurt is the true victim
I disagree with yoghurt but will defend the right of any brexist to smear it down their shirts.

IWannaSeeHowItEnds · 24/05/2019 13:32

What do you mean by encouragement? Having opinions you find abhorrent? Not too far from saying a woman encouraged a man to rape her because of how she was dressed, is it?

BertrandRussell · 24/05/2019 13:36

“I thought we had a “we believe you” policy on Mumsnet?”

We do. And I did. Until evidence emerged that it didn’t happen the way it was reported.

BertrandRussell · 24/05/2019 13:40

“You appear to resent the deference and respect that is traditionally accorded to the elderly.

I don't use belittling language like that as I know too fucking well what dementia is.”

Nobody should assault anyone in any way. However, I give deference and respect to those that deserve it. The evidence suggests that this man doesn’t.

Nice use of dementia as a “gotcha” though.

woman19 · 24/05/2019 13:41

Coquillage
Looking at that thread analysing the 'event', I think it has the makings of a thriller; who should direct it; Oliver Stone or Tarantino?

Some have suggested Onken yoghurt in key role. I am not convinced.

Coquillage · 24/05/2019 13:50

I think

Director: Scorsese
Yoghurt splattered man: Michael Caine
Yoghurt: I think Müller would give a nice European flavour but I suspect Lancashire Farm might be more in keeping
