My family think I must have shares in Sudocrem because i recommend it for almost any ailment 😁😁

Latest proof: friction burn from dog lead walking accident (don’t ask)... medics recommended keep clean, loose dressing, leave it to heal naturally.. 1 week later, no better.

3 days of Sudocrem - virtually fixed, almost expect new foot to grow shortly !

who will join me in the Ode to Sudocrem - or even recommend new potions with magical powers that I can add to my list?

@HappyRoots I'll pick up a tub. One thing I do know is it's a bitch to clean off mirrors, carpets and anything else a 2 year old can find to smear it on. Speaking from experience 😂

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 18/05/2019 10:27

The one time l used it, l got cellulitis!

onalongsabbatical · 18/05/2019 10:28

Dodie66 I was thinking the same thing. I've just now in response to this thread gone to Amazon and bought a pot for it. (Live in the country, no shops, don't drive, partner away for the weekend - Amazon quickest way. I know.) So I will experiment when it comes and find out. Fingers crossed eh?

DobbyLovesSocks · 18/05/2019 10:28

I used sudocrem on DS when he had nappy rash (that and Metanium). I had no idea i could use it for other things. Spots? face mask? Mind. Blown!!

Do you just put a thin layer on and leave on? does it get absorbed?
Please help initiate a newbie :)

BettyFilous · 18/05/2019 10:30

Is it any good/safe on mild eczema on thin skin (eyelid)?

UmpetyLumpety · 18/05/2019 10:38

I work at a donkey charity. In summer, some of them get quite badly fly-bitten on their legs. We slather Sudocrem on them, works a treat! We put it on using disposable gloves though otherwise you can't wash the stuff off your hands and with all the donkey hair stuck to it, you look like a gorilla! Grin

I love sudocrem and have done for about 28 years !! It's amazing 😀

EdWinchester · 18/05/2019 10:46

It is marvellous stuff.

I am now pondering about my rosacea.

drspouse · 18/05/2019 10:51

I can't stand the smell, and with my DCs there's still too much risk of a repetition of the Great Sudocrem Incident of 2016, but we like Weleda nappy cream for sore spots.

Yabbers · 18/05/2019 10:54

Going to break the spell here, but I find most of the time it doesn’t really fix anything.

EdWinchester · 18/05/2019 10:55

My son once rubbed most of a pot into the carpet. It didn't have any magic powers then, let me tell you.

bbcessex · 18/05/2019 10:55

@Dodie & Onalong

That’s definitely been one of the many uses in our house, esp when DD was small and used to get sore at night.

As it’s a nappy cream it’s designed for bits & bobs.

You can now get it in tiny 15g size which is great for handbags and travelling.

You can also keep a big pot in the bathroom cabinet and decant to the smaller one for days out( hmmm not obsessed with the magic grey pot much).

If you only use a very small amount it works as an excellent primer. As long as your foundation isn't silicone based otherwise it causes piling.

dementedpixie · 18/05/2019 10:59

Used to get a tiny one in the bounty pack. I have a 60g one

springydaff · 18/05/2019 11:01

Obviously you're the problem Yabbers Grin

dementedpixie · 18/05/2019 11:01

You get tubes of it too

spiderlight · 18/05/2019 11:01

My dad held Sudocrem in such esteem that when he had pneumococcal meningitis and was unconscious on a ventilator in ITU for ten days at the age of 84, his second utterance (after 'I'm all right, stop fussing') was 'Could you bring some Sudocrem? That'll sort it out' :)

PollyPelargonium52 · 18/05/2019 11:01

Yes I use it for wounds, insect bites, burnmarks, sunburn you name it!

bbcessex · 18/05/2019 11:02

Dobby

Yes, just a thin amount works fine and eventually absorbs.

A pot lasts for ever (might be actual fact).

Sudocrem for donkeys ?? AMAZING. It is truly the nectar of the world.

For the PP who’s dad is using it for chemo wounds - 🌸❤️🌸 to you and your dad x

I remember it was the only thing that actually treated ds's nappy rash. Nothing else touched it even the more holistic/expensive options.

Anoisagusaris · 18/05/2019 11:04

Fabulous stuff.

Invented in Dublin in the 1930s and still manufactured there.

NaomifromMilkshake · 18/05/2019 11:04

My younger sister spent her gap year in Aus via the US, her long term relationship broke down as soon as they hit Aus, she came close to running out of money, I could go on and on......

This was in the days where it was one phone call a week...

I rang her and said, tell me what I can do to fix it, and help you...

She replied, I can sort all of this.......

But they have no Sudo in this bloody country... Send some now please....
