TM has agreed to start the process of leaving office in June. I have mixed feelings and am very worried about the future of this country. AIBU to think this is going to make the situation worse and possibly lead to no deal Brexit?

I hope she resigns soon. I couldn't care less about a GE. Corbyn/McDonnell will not be elected by this country. Neither will Farage.

I am pretty confident that the more I ignore politics and the media, and the more I concentrate on my own influences the happier I will be.

whatwouldbigfatfannydo · 17/05/2019 19:44

The people who look back on this 100 years from now will wonder incredulously how we got ourselves into this mess. It'll be akin to history students analysing national system failures that allowed Hitler into power...

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 17/05/2019 19:46

onalongsabbatical

It's like we're going to end up with Peppa fucking Pig in number 10 and everybody's going to be nodding sagely while the rest of the world falls about laughing. She makes Trump look like Wittgenstein wrapped up in Socrates

Ha ha ha!GrinGrinGrin

I showed this to DS and we both lay about on the sofa laughing. At least there's some wit to lighten the impeding doom!

nuxe1984 · 17/05/2019 19:51

I wouldn't take bets on this. Every decision that woman has made she's rescinded on. Can't trust her to tell the truth.

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 17/05/2019 19:59

What they really need to do is STOP using universal credit (replacing all tax credits and jsa) as a tool to save save save money due to 'austerity' and actually make it work for the people it is supposed to help - like working single mothers

Yeah I know it's utter shite. I personally don't know how these people sleep at night.

I live in great hardship because claiming would actually leave me worse off. But the Tories are not known for setting aside ideologically driven policy for fairness or even practicality. Most attempt to emulate Thatcher.

However, it makes sense that someone with familiarity of the system get into office in the 2% chance it might be 'amended' so I think Amber Rudd is the best part of a bad pudding.

Plus I personally would like another female PM. I think TM has had a lot of bollox from men in her cabinet. MT was driven out and now TM.

Chris Evans sas a smug sanctimonious twat, especially during his last few months on the breakfast show. There were endless moans about him on here. I don't love Zoe Ball but I can listen to her rather than having to switch over when he was droning on about his cars or his kids or his famous mates. I can't imagine he's had the humility to change the show now he's at Virgin. Especially since he's taken his back slapper Vassos with him.

noodlenosefraggle · 17/05/2019 21:20

Oh bugger I've posted on the wrong thread! I've never done that before how embarrassing Blush

The British people and the Tory MPS called for TM to stand down.

Let's look forward to Boris taking us out of the EU, then quitting once the job is done....then a GE then.

Perleeeaase... Don't inflict Citizen Jeremy (Turncoat) Corbyn on us! Hopefully he will be turfed out long before the next GE

How can so many, supposedly educated people, make such a mess?

elbowlicker · 17/05/2019 23:00

After rent & household bills I have £70 per week to feed, buy clothes, shoes, birthdays, school trips, Christmas, prescription charges, new washing machine, (the list could go on forever) for 3 young boys (1aged 8, plus surprise twins aged 7). Dad had PTSD being a fireman & fucked off never to be traceable for maintenance. Life is totally fucked under this regime. I have a first class degree & now work freelance as childcare massively outweighs wages, in huge debt and can't see how to keep my head out of the oven. How does anyone do this? I am so desperately destroyed with trying to make ends meet and so gutted I can't have any days out or holidays with my children & can barely feed them. What do I do ??

llizzie · 18/05/2019 01:09

Is it a man thing? Is life being made difficult for her in the hope that no other woman will want to be PM so that men take the lead from now on? It is not her fault. How can it be? Anyone would think she was the only one making decisions. She can only act within the law and the Civil Servants give advice and she really has little choice legally to do what she likes. She has advisers. They should be sacked as well if she goes. The MPs we have now are a wet lot who really are not qualified for the job, and that is the fault of the voters. Those young people who stand for election have no idea that they actually have to think and learn, and that it is not an easy job with good pay prospects, and the worse ones are men, men who have had their bums wiped by women all their lives. Worse though, they too are told what to do by civil servants.

She should stay, if only for the sake of womanhood.

justarandomtricycle · 18/05/2019 01:38

"Ding dong the witch is dead" cried the puppets of misogyny, "as a feminist I hate her" they nodded sagely, while gray-haired left wing men looked on with approval at their idiot minions rounding on the uppity female.

The same things will be said about the next female PM, and the one after that, and so on.

BunsyGirl · 18/05/2019 02:11

**elbowlicker

I strongly believe that we need universal subsidised childcare. However, I also strongly believe that we need to do something about the numbers of parents “fucking off” and not taking responsibility for their kids. Why should the ones that don’t “fuck off” have to pay for feckless parents.

floraloctopus · 18/05/2019 03:10

She should stay, if only for the sake of womanhood.

Of course she shouldn't, that's the most ridiculous reason for her staying that I've ever heard - woman stays in job despite having proved that she can't fulfil the job description because of womanhood. She is going to struggle to hang on to her job but there are many reasons why should stay but being female is not one of them.

Sobeyondthehills · 18/05/2019 03:49

I am disabled, I get ESA, PIP, HB, CTC and CB.

Due to this government and previous governments I am not not surviving and nowhere near living.

But there is no way out for most people to vote for anyone other than the two major parties which is going to screw us. I got a letter in the post, telling me that I should now be getting an extra £1.29 a week on my ESA

My council tax has gone up by £48, electric and gas gone up by about £18, my water by £3 and my TV licence by £2 a month.

Yet every single time one of these fuckwits gets in and everyone pats themselves on the back thinking they have done the right thing, while the disabled and vulnerable are fighting to survive and no one seems to give a fuck

This is the worst decade + politicians ... the lack of leadership within all parties ... it’s a political wasteland ....
Boris is a comedian and we will leap over the USA ...if he get the conservative vote... as the country being run by an embarrassment of a leader ...one that switches his mind due to self interest...

The world is getting more right wing by the second ....individual freedom is being eroded ( remember women lose first in this kind of world) and god forbid that Farage gets any say in our country ....
EU needs to change but not be crushed ... Trump has 2 masters ... Israel and Russia ... we have to not align ourselves with anything he does...

Iggly · 18/05/2019 06:26

You think children should starve @user1497997754 ?

Lweji · 18/05/2019 06:37

In fact, do you think anyone should starve?

Nobody is more stupid than people who think they can control every aspect of their lives and will never need financial help.

mellongoose · 18/05/2019 06:47

Boris is definitely going for it. So is Esther Mcvey. Many others are currently courting MPs to see what kind of support they will get before officially announcing anything. I know of one name in particular who is gaining traction with the back benches. I'll wager most of you have not heard of him. FWIW none of the MPs I know are supporting Boris on a first or second preference.

user1497997754 · 18/05/2019 06:48

People generally can control how many children they have.....and would take into account whether they can afford them......although some people expect the tax payer to foot the bill.

Iggly · 18/05/2019 06:51

So do you think children should starve then @user1497997754 ?

Children do not decide to be born. It’s out of their hands.

Lweji · 18/05/2019 06:53

Sometimes they can.
Other times they can lose their jobs, become ill, lose their partners, or really don't have the mental or emotional capacity to make birth control decisions.

But I bet most can use stops instead of ... to finish their sentences.

user1497997754 · 18/05/2019 06:54

......doesn't cost the tax payer money......

Lweji · 18/05/2019 06:57

I bet it does indirectly. Wink
There are various ways of being stupid and of wasting taxpayers money. Grin
