To ask how to sleep, with him across the road??

Across the road from us is a junkie. Thank God we don't have any dcs because he truly is terrifying. We have found needles across the road from us, we found what looks like a diy Molotov cocktail burned in our gutter and he has stolen our bin and many other neighbours bins and filled it with his kitchen. He smokes meth out on the footpath and he watches us, including the neighbours come and go.

We've spoken to our MP, the council and housing authority because it's government housing and he's going to be there at least another month. My DH and I have work all day tomorrow, terrified he'll break in if he notices the cars are gone and rob us and hurt our cats :(

We have dogs thank God, they have to stay outside while we are at work.

All we can do is lock our front doors and windows, roller shutters down

another one who was not prepared for this!

Yes, smoking meth is definitely a thing round my way - outer London.

OP what is the police response? I can imagine here they just wouldn't do anything.

Maybe put a sign up warning of CCTV.

ballisticcyclistic · 16/05/2019 14:40

Why are the dogs outside all day? Are they roaming wild or tied up? This isn’t on. Who is feeding them and di they have access to water. Are they in the back or front garden?

NunoGoncalves · 16/05/2019 14:45

As long as the dogs are warm secure (can't escape or be stolen) and have water, why does it matter that they're outside? Lots of dogs live outside houses for various reasons.

Dontfuckingsaycheese · 16/05/2019 14:47

Why are you concerned about him hurting your cats but not your dogs?

ballisticcyclistic · 16/05/2019 14:50

Yes but if the dogs are outside, he’s far more likely to poison on the dogs than the cats.

OP, why do you think he will come after your animals though?

ballisticcyclistic · 16/05/2019 14:52

I guess if the dogs are in a secure back garden with some form of shelter, than that’s not too bad in this weather. I hope they’re not out in the winter though.

The OP made it sound like the dogs are out the front.

NunoGoncalves · 16/05/2019 14:54

Since we're picking apart pointless details from the OP, I have another question:

Is there any such thing as a non-DIY molotov cocktail? Like, one you buy in the shops or something?

Livedandlearned · 16/05/2019 15:07

I want to know how he put his kitchen in your bin too.

Complainingagain · 16/05/2019 15:10

"And you want to sleep with him?" 😂😂😂😂😂😂

ApplePieIsAmazing · 16/05/2019 21:20

Thanks for the comma MNHQ, however I was kind of enjoying the comments about luring him to my bed haha!

As for putting his kitchen in my bin, he believes that we, including other neighbours have been putting our rubbish in his house. He's also made a makeshift wall out of magnifying glasses, by glueing about 15 magnifying glasses together. These are pointed at our house. I should have added that in the main post, I was mlre rattled by the Molotov cocktail, if that's actually what it was. (That happened today)

We have called police in the past, however sometimes they just get there and it's too late to catch him in the act, he simply goes inside. Can't afford cctv right now either

Am I an idiot? Why has he done that?

Thanks, inspecteur

If you have wheelie bins you can get gravity locks that will open when the bin lorry told them but that your neighbour won’t be able to open.

category12 · 16/05/2019 21:52

Don't your dogs bark all day long if they're stuck outside while you're out?

GabsAlot · 16/05/2019 21:53

Hes obviously off his head when hes doing these things-can you get cctv out to watch the front of your house?

They cant really do anything unless you have proof

Lovemusic33 · 16/05/2019 22:02

I want to see a photo of the magnifying glass wall, sounds interesting. He obviously had a lot of mental health issues probably caused by his addiction. I’m not sure if I would worry about him breaking in to your house, it would be too obvious, I doubt he would steel from his doorstep.

Why do people get touchy about dogs being outside? Many breeds are fine living outside and a lot of people here (in the countryside) keep their dogs outside, as long as they have shelter and access to water I don’t see the issue?

steff13 · 16/05/2019 22:02

Why is he putting his kitchen into neighbouring bins?

I think the real question is how?

I'd call the police every time he was outside doing drugs. I'm also not a fan of leaving the dogs outside when no one's home. Sorry.

steff13 · 16/05/2019 22:04

Ok, I've missed something with the kitchen in the bin. A kitchen is a room; you can't put it in a bin?

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 16/05/2019 22:08

Am also missing point and concerned about dogs outside while meth head roams around!!

category12 · 16/05/2019 22:08

Why do people get touchy about dogs being outside?

I find dogs bark shitloads when they're outside and it pisses me off.

funnylittlefloozie · 16/05/2019 22:10

Im assuming the OP means kitchen waste, not actually his worktops and cabinets (though you never know with meth-heads...!).

I'd be more worried about a magnifying glass wall. Could it set his house on fire? Or even worse, yours?

simplekindoflife · 16/05/2019 22:13

This thread has made me giggle! Grin

Sorry OP!

Is this the first time you've both been out of the house?

ASauvignonADay · 16/05/2019 22:13

Just make sure your house is secure and the dogs inside. How would he break in?

I actually think it's really sad. He clearly has mental health issues and needs some support. I probably would keep calling the police.

SadOtter · 16/05/2019 22:15

What is the magnifying glass wall for? When you succeed in seducing him can you ask please?
