To ask how to sleep, with him across the road??

Across the road from us is a junkie. Thank God we don't have any dcs because he truly is terrifying. We have found needles across the road from us, we found what looks like a diy Molotov cocktail burned in our gutter and he has stolen our bin and many other neighbours bins and filled it with his kitchen. He smokes meth out on the footpath and he watches us, including the neighbours come and go.

We've spoken to our MP, the council and housing authority because it's government housing and he's going to be there at least another month. My DH and I have work all day tomorrow, terrified he'll break in if he notices the cars are gone and rob us and hurt our cats :(

We have dogs thank God, they have to stay outside while we are at work.

All we can do is lock our front doors and windows, roller shutters down

‘How can I sleep, with HIM across the road??’
Try starting again x

DontCallMeShitley · 16/05/2019 13:56

Leave one of the cars outside the house.
Extra locks on doors and windows.
Fit alarms and cameras.
Dogs won't help unless they are trained to attack, would more likely be stolen, especially if there is access to the garden.
Get a house sitter until he is gone.
I understand the worry, it is real to you. You need to feel safe. However, he may not be interested in your house, has anyone else been broken into? If not, it is not such a concern.

Bluebell878275 · 16/05/2019 13:57

I imagine 'sleeping with someone across a road' would be very uncomfortable! Why would you want to even attempt it??! The tarmac burns......

SmellsLikeAdultSpirit · 16/05/2019 13:58

I only came here for the seduction tips

DarlingNikita · 16/05/2019 14:00

I'd be terrified he would steal or poison my dogs, but also terrified that if they were indoors he would set the house on fire

That's some pretty active imagination work going on there.

CustardySergeant · 16/05/2019 14:01

Nah. You're being such a silly Bluebell878275. The Op definitely said "how can I sleep in my own bed, with him across the road" so she's asking how best to lure him across the road into her boudoir.

Wink
HappyHammy · 16/05/2019 14:02

I would call the police and the h.a. You all have a right to live in peace. Can the dogs be kept inside, I wouldn't want any pets outside, you can install either a fake or real cctv camera but I doubt he would take much notice of it.

DpWm · 16/05/2019 14:03

Why is he putting his kitchen in the bin? Confused

1forAll74 · 16/05/2019 14:03

I am not sure what you can do about this druggie guy, except hope that someone like a community type social worker can get him into a safer place, I mean safer for everyone. He could possibly end up dying in the streets.

It's very unpleasant that you,and others, have to witness this kind of behaviour,

mightskys · 16/05/2019 14:05

Why do you keep your dogs outside all day?

What does this have to do with her post? Grin

MrsCatKins · 16/05/2019 14:07

I'm so disappointed in this post now it's not what I thought it was going to be!

Funnyface1 · 16/05/2019 14:10

I so thought you were after seduction tips.

As it is, make sure your home is secure. Alarm, good locks, CCTV. Maybe even fake CCTV as a deterrent?

Never been so fucking disappointed.

and yes - why are your dogs left out all day?

CitadelsofScience · 16/05/2019 14:13

Bahahaha and yesterday there was a post complaining about snidey comments about people's spelling and grammar, it's rude to correct them apparently.

We due to the missing comma half of us have come on here expecting to read about how to get your neighbour in to bed, and we're very disappointed.

Grammar correcting is essential so we aren't misled about threads Grin

CitadelsofScience · 16/05/2019 14:14

Oh and look at the pile of shite I've just written, I'll let myself out...

Beaubird83 · 16/05/2019 14:14

Police, every single time there’s an incident. Tell them you’re genuinely worried about the safety of yourself and your neighbours based on his behaviour and actions.

Yabbers · 16/05/2019 14:19

If ever there was an example of why commas are important, this is it. 😂

I hope the MP wasn’t asked how OP could sleep with the guy across the road.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 16/05/2019 14:19

Call, the cops, be a squeaky wheel.

Also came here to find a totally different thread to the one I was expecting.

Yabbers · 16/05/2019 14:21

@Citadels
😂😂

, , , have a few just in case you have run out.

TatianaLarina · 16/05/2019 14:21

This is not what I was hoping for at all. Sad

Marvelendgame · 16/05/2019 14:23

Op what do you mean he's putting his kitchen in your bin?

How have you been managing up until now when you been at work?

PinkOboe · 16/05/2019 14:24

Are you in the UK? I didn't know meth was a thing here

TurtleCavalryIsSeriousShit · 16/05/2019 14:27

Oh lordy... this has had me chuckling. Poor Op. Grin

greenlloon · 16/05/2019 14:27

[Message from MNHQ: We've added a comma to the title so it makes a bit more sense]
nope i think it make more sense if the title is how can i get to sleep when junkie lives across the road
