To wish Nigel Farage would fuck off to the far side of fuck

He’s not a man of the people- he’s one of the elite. He’s a wealthy ex broker who wants to privatise the NHS. He has earnt a massive salary as an MEP but barely turned up. He’s a con artist who is actually pretty racist and unsavoury.

Am tired of seeing him on TV - he cares nothing for the poor of this country. I wish he would go away never to be seen again.

“Nice to see so much hate speech on MN”

Yes, almost as much as contained in/on Farage’s former UKIP party political broadcasts and posters.

Weirdpenguin · 14/05/2019 21:16

It isn't ageist to point out the age related voting pattern on Brexit, but it IS ageist to whip up resentment against all older people when 40% voted remain. It concerns me that on seeing my 65+ face large numbers of people would think I would agree with this odious, loud mouthed individual.

NoYo · 14/05/2019 21:25

Gosh, some people on here are rather rattled by Nigel Farage.
Surely Remain supporting parties will gain the most seats on the 23rd?

Langrish · 14/05/2019 21:29

Everyone should be rattled by Nigel NoYo. Haven’t you worked out yet just how potentially incredibly dangerous that man is?

Weirdpenguin · 14/05/2019 21:31

I think it's possible that the remain vote will split between different remain parties, especially in Wales and Scotland. The OP just asked if we would like NF to fuck off, and it seems most of us would. Why the BBC give him so much airtime God knows.

TeacupDrama · 14/05/2019 21:47

is there not some rule that BBC coverage has to reflect representation of the party in brussels at the moment, at present brexit party and UKIp have 17 members, labour have 19 and the conservatives 18 the greens have 3 SNP 2 Liberal democrats 1; so they have to be given roughly equal air time the Brexit/ UKIP parties did very well at last European elections so they will get much more air time than liberal democrats, it depends for this election on MEPS not the fact that they are no MP's for the brexit party

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 14/05/2019 22:23

Gosh, some people on here are rather rattled by Nigel Farage

Oh for goodness sake

Im not rattled by him...i just dont like him

I dont like the waitress at my local cafe...im not rattled by her

PathOfLeastResitance · 14/05/2019 22:42

Yep. I’d pay his bus fare and he can take that man-child Boris with him.

Snakelight · 14/05/2019 22:51

I'm 'rattled' - I fully expect the Brexit Party to get the most seats (even if the vote share among the Remain parties is higher).

I just thought (until about 4 years ago) that we, as a country, were better and, frankly, less stupid than this. Our continued descent has me perma-rattled.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 14/05/2019 22:57

Every political TV show always has a Labour and Conservative representative on it. Given Nigel is whipping them in the EU polls I would expect to see him on twice as much than he is now. It seems the BBC is indeed very bias.

KennDodd · 14/05/2019 22:59

@LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD
@LysistrataLady

Poetic justice would be if NF was run out of the UK and had to seek asylum somewhere. Hopefully other countries would decide they were at breaking point and could take him in.

ddl1 · 14/05/2019 23:01

No; he's a repulsive person! And dangerous.

KennDodd · 14/05/2019 23:03

I'm rattled by NF I think the racism division and hatred he's whipped up is terrifying.

Buddytheelf85 · 14/05/2019 23:17

YANBU but I think Boris is an even bigger snake. At least I think Farage genuinely believes Brexit is a good idea.

Medievalist · 15/05/2019 07:34

But Boris isn't given as much air time as Farage. And he doesn't spew the same bile. Agree with pp that he's intent on whipping up racism, fear and anger. His rantings appeal to the worst elements of human nature. If Brexit leads to civil unrest he will have played a big part in it.

Langrish · 15/05/2019 20:25

Ditto. Though hearing today that the obscene car crash that was the Jeremy Kyle show was ITV’s flagship daytime programme, reeling in millions of viewers (voyeurs) daily, ought we to be so surprised?

Saw a bit of Years and Years last night. Didn’t think it was up to much, futuristic Coronation Street. I didn’t think it’s storyline was outlandish enough and fear the future is going to be a whole lot more horrific than that, probably starting with Farage’s rise to power.

Medievalist · 16/05/2019 00:01

Totally agree Langrish. When I was younger I used to look at WWI and WW2 and thank my lucky stars for living in more enlightened times when such things wouldn't happen.

And here we are on the verge of political and environmental Armageddon. Scares the shit out of me. The Hitler-esque style of Trump and Farage taps into people's insecurities and fears, and makes them feel it's okay to voice their bigotry and hatred. They just wind people up then sit back and watch (just like Jeremy Kyle).

Gone2far · 16/05/2019 07:46

I don't like Farage, and wouldn't vote for him, but his popularity is due to the ineffectiveness of the main political parties.
Parliament has not delivered Brexit. If mp's thought it would be too difficult, they shouldn't have voted for the Referendum to be held, or for Article 50. But they did. And now they have failed to deliver. Is it any surprise that the Brexit party is doing well?
Most of my friends are Labour, but most won't be voting for them because they don't know where Labour stands on this.
Fwiw I think the next general election will see Labour lose the North to some form of populist party.
I don't blame individuals, I blame politicians.

Dottierichardson · 16/05/2019 07:48

YADNBU OP I wish he would too and all his cronies with him...wouldn't mind if he took Boris Johnson and Rees-Mogg with him.

MorrisZapp · 16/05/2019 08:00

I agree gone2far. The current shit show is an inevitable and inescapable result of decisions made four years ago.

You can't hold a referendum with an undeliverable premise then forget about it.

The wrangling has only just begun, it will define my DSs political childhood, as the miners strike and Belfast troubles defined mine.

Huggybear16 · 16/05/2019 08:24

He's vile.

I really hope those who wouldn't usually vote in these elections, but who see the Brexit Party for what they really are, go out and vote this time.

There may not be an ideal candidate/party, but there are certainly better ones.

Medievalist · 16/05/2019 08:44

Most of my friends are Labour, but most won't be voting for them because they don't know where Labour stands on this

This is me.

TeacupDrama · 16/05/2019 08:53

today's polls show the brexit party is likely to get half or more of all UK seats

I understand this, and know people that feel the same. But wouldn't you still rather vote for a Labour candidate than a Brexit Party one? No good can come of the Brexit Party charging ahead as predicted.
