Mine cost £95 which I don't think was that bad for about 100 items

MissMalice - it isn’t really that interesting or extravagant. I have a teenage athlete son who eats for 3 and needs good quality protein. Also does not help that the only thing I drink is Champagne.

anothermansmother · 13/05/2019 20:25

£32.13 will feed 3 of us for the week including lunches. I did have lots in the freezer so it was mainly fruit and veg

Saavhi · 13/05/2019 20:27

£130 - 4 adults and an expensive/picky dog

bibbitybobbityyhat · 13/05/2019 20:30

We don't have the discipline or inclination to do a weekly shop. We spend £25 to £35 per day approx for 2 adults and 2 fully grown teens (so equivalent of 4 adults).

derekthe1adyhamster · 13/05/2019 20:30

About £90 for a family of 4 adults

Dollywilde · 13/05/2019 20:31

£70.

1 x cat:
2 boxes of cat food sachets
Didn’t need dry food or litter which helped (but in bulk every two weeks)

2 x adults:
9 x dinners to get us to next Thursday when I get paid and will do a fortnightly shop (minus Saturday when we’re out)
Both of us have subsidised canteens at work so no lunches
We only eat breakfast (brunch really as tend to then skip lunch) on the weekends so bagels, bacon, egg, avo for the one weekend
Concession of £20 for our respective weaknesses of wine (me) and Diet Coke (him) Grin

Dollywilde · 13/05/2019 20:32

Litter and dry food should be ‘buy in bulk every two months

Dollywilde · 13/05/2019 20:35

Oh and no laundry bits but I did buy a bottle of washing up liquid and some loo roll Grin

MumUnderTheMoon · 13/05/2019 20:37

£40.59 for two of us but we had take away for dinner tonight. Dd gets free school dinners so the bill jumps when she's off school.

Whatafustercluck · 13/05/2019 20:37

£60 for 4 of us and 2 cats.

But that excludes what we pay for ds's school dinners 4x per week and we often eat out at weekends and use a different budget for that.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 13/05/2019 20:38

Last shop was £70 for four of us for 5 days. So £3.50 each a day.

Dinners this week

Steak, chips and the trimmings
Salmon, couscous, salad
Roast gammon, new pots, veg
Ham, lentil, tomato soup (I made gallons of this)
Shakshouka

Homemade muesli, porridge, toast or eggs for breakfast.
Soup, ham, eggs, salad and soup for lunch.

PattyCow · 13/05/2019 20:40

£175 and it won't last the week but we buy mostly organic high welfare etc.

featherflight · 13/05/2019 20:41

Always around £200 per week. How are people spending so little? Please tell!

Hepte · 13/05/2019 20:41

We average at about £50 per week for a family of 4 but both my kids still get school dinners, this will go up next year.
We tightened our belts when I left work and had to be extremely strict. Now that I'm working again we would rather spend the extra money elsewhere.

torthecatlady · 13/05/2019 20:41

We've just started meal planning and budgeting our weekly shop. This week came in at £34 (budget is £40, so £6 left for top up shop which will be used).

2 adults and a dss at the weekend.
Cats, toiletries and cleaning supplies not included. Shop mostly at Tesco as we can scan as we shop to keep track.

featherflight · 13/05/2019 20:42

Pattycow, that’s probably why ours is so high too. There’s 4 of us and we buy pretty much everything organic. It’s so expensive!

bobstersmum · 13/05/2019 20:42

107 for two adults three dc age 6 and under. It's usually 80 to 120 depending on where I shop.

Iwantacookie · 13/05/2019 20:45

£58 at Aldi and another £45 Tesco.
At a push this will last 5 of us (and two cats) 10-14 days.
I probably spend another £10-20 on top ups of milk veg bread etc.

bellsbuss · 13/05/2019 20:47

Family of 6

£40 butchers
£43 Lidl
£46 Sainsbury's
£14 Home bargains
£25 M & S

Shopping bill seems to have increased the last 6 months

MatchSetPoint · 13/05/2019 20:48

Main shop £17 and a few top up shops no more than £20 each

MatchSetPoint · 13/05/2019 20:49

£117 not £17*

Toffeecakes · 13/05/2019 20:50

£140 at Tesco, 2 adults and 2 dcs. I bought washing powder, whitening sheets etc this week which made it more expensive when I usually only need to buy them once a month.

I need to cut back a lot.

joystir59 · 13/05/2019 20:50

We spend approx £50 a week for two adults and a small dog

ZippyBungleandGeorge · 13/05/2019 20:51

@featherflight we do too but don't eat meat or fish every day and it sits around £130 a week, I do sometimes top io

Regreteitherway · 13/05/2019 20:52

£43 including £2 for delivery. Me and toddler.

I only shop 2 to 3 times a month so not technically a weekly.
