Mine cost £95 which I don't think was that bad for about 100 items

I couldn’t tell you our Blush weekly budget.

Last week however I did go to the farmers market and spent £342. (Numerous, meats, fresh seasonal fruit and veg, dairy)

Went to the fish quays also and spend £140 an array of fish.

Sainsbury’s shop was £155.

However that will last for months, I make everything from scratch, so will only now go shopping for tops ups wine

formerbabe · 13/05/2019 19:15

£50 delivery arrived yesterday...it won't last a week though so I reckon ill do a £30 top up shop in the week

Shootingstar1115 · 13/05/2019 19:15

About £90. Two adults and two children. Would like to spend less.

ArabellaDoreenFig · 13/05/2019 19:15

I’m fascinated by these threads - for example SnowWhitesRestingBitchFace £60 for a weeks food shopping for 2 adults a 12 and 5 yr old and a 1 yr old seems like a tiny amount - I would spend more than that on just me I think! What meals have you got planned ? And does that include all your fruit and veg etc ?

I grew up in a poor house and had to eat what was there or be hungry and I am pretty convinced that’s why I’m now laid back about the food budget in our house, I’m very lucky that I don’t have to scrimp and save just to feed us, and I do appreciate that.

@HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend

Can I be nosey? How do you store it all? Do you have a massive freezer?

InspectorClouseauMNdivision · 13/05/2019 19:25

We spend £90+ for 2. Actually it's mainly just meBlush.
I do eat crapload of fresh veg and fruit, honestly a lot as it's basically part of all of my meals. It's not even organic! (because that's a scam...) Add to it cheese, must be at least 5 kinds at any given time for variety into salads etc, meat from the butcher and wine and beer and it adds up ridiculously.
Price of butter has gone up again few pennies😑
Admittedly, we are picky and spoiled a bit when it comes to food and i get bored easily.

roundligament · 13/05/2019 19:25

How come we spend 250 on a week for 2 adults and one toddler
I'm wondering what bumps it up
We eat a lot of expensive fruit
Like melons, berries, sable grapes, tangerines and plums
We also eat deli meats from Natoora range @ ocado
Milk is organic
We used to have a lot more milk then this as my son drank 1lt of goat milk a day!!
I think it's possibly also the juice we buy?
I'm not currently buying booze as I'm pregnant and my husband doesn't drink.
Can't work it out

Amanduh · 13/05/2019 19:26

£40 for two adults and a toddler but that included medicines, household supplies, nappies and wipes.

Fizzyhedgehog · 13/05/2019 19:27

About £70 for 2 adults and a toddler. The small person takes a lunchbox to nursery, which tends to he the main thing. DH and I both have lunch provided at work, so it's breakfast, dinner and snacks for the week and includes lunch on wweekends.
It also included quite a bit of cider this week. Grin

Shock
EThreepwood · 13/05/2019 19:27

£39 for 2 adults and 2 kids. But we're vegetarians and I don't buy much ready meals (usually monthly)

Oblomov19 · 13/05/2019 19:28

I spend at least £100+ on 2 adults, 2 teens. I have literally no idea how you are all spending so little! Shock

puma84 · 13/05/2019 19:29

£135. Damn the those aisles of doom in Aldi Confused

Owlettele · 13/05/2019 19:30

£53 - family of 4

Zolaaaaa · 13/05/2019 19:30

£44 for 3 adults and a dog, should last us 8 days

WalkAwaySugarbear · 13/05/2019 19:31

Spent £51 today, mainly fresh fruit and veg. Some cleaning bits. The freezer and cupboards are already full.
This will do until next week.

glueandstick · 13/05/2019 19:31

£80 for two adults and one child. But it had a lot of store cupboard stuff and I’ve had to do another £20 on milk and missed bits. This’ll probably do us 2 weeks if not more but we’re vegetarian and trying to work through the drinks cabinet without buying more. We eat a lot of dried pulses which seems to keep bills pretty low.

heroineinahalfshell · 13/05/2019 19:33

£68 for 2 adults. Breakfast, lunches, dinners and a few storecupboard staples. That's about average, and I was pleased with it as it was a Sainsbury shop not Aldi.

HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend · 13/05/2019 19:35

@formerbabe

Yes, we have an American freezer that we have in our garage (well 2 as the other is to freeze ds2 duvet and pillows)

I prepare the produce into family quantities, and date them.

ChipsAreLife · 13/05/2019 19:36

I would say all in £130/£150 a week but we don't eat out much and that's all lunches, toiletries etc. We are two adults and two pre schoolers and two are gluten free which makes it's really expensive! Also still buy nappies

BrilliantYou · 13/05/2019 19:36

Around £70. One before was £125. Next one probably somewhere in between. 2 adults,2 kids both on packed lunch. We budget £400 per month. We cook mainly from scratch, eat out as a family once per week with the odd coffee shop in the week. I'd love to spend less on food as a whole really Confused

Poundlandkate · 13/05/2019 19:37

I spent £70 in Aldi this morning and £22 in Asda. The Asda shop was mainly pet stuff I can't get in Aldi. That is for 4 of us for a week.

BrilliantYou · 13/05/2019 19:37

Just remembered we've been for 2 small top ups of around £30 Blush

Thesearmsofmine · 13/05/2019 19:38

Where you shop and what means you choose to eat are what causes such huge variation. Plus the budget you have available, if I spent £250 a week on food shopping we wouldn’t be able to pay the rent!

Mominatrix · 13/05/2019 19:38

About 260 for 2 adults, 1 teenager, 1 child, and 1 dog.
