Furry Wedding Invitation

DP and I have been invited to a Furry wedding. For those of you that don't know, furries like to dress as anthropomorphized animal characters; I think the bride is an ocelot or something. According to the invite, dressing in costume is 'preferred' (not sure if the pun was intended). AIBU to be reluctant to spend a day surrounded by a group of fur-suited wedding guests? Particularly as neither DP or I have any interest in dressing up ourselves.

I'm not quite sure what catering for such people actually means in practice.

Providing littler trays in public lavatories apparently, if bigbadbadger's post is anything to go by.

I was thinking. Real furry critters don’t actually get married.

How does ‘kink’ fit in with the LGB (alphabet soup)? Who judges what is ‘kinky’ enough?

Who would want to ask that question ‘I see that you have ticked ‘k’ - may I just ask...?’

Update: DP and I are definitely attending. DP says I should be going as a pygmy marmoset. Such cheek.

Make sure your outfit is sponge clean. Lots of animals may attempt to hump you....

Does it need to be a furry critter? I’d probably go as Big Bird. I think I’d pull...

Ds14 goes to school with a furry.

She wears cat ears and has a tail. 🐱

I’m agog at her but not allowed to stare as ds won’t let me.

🙄 oh god I strained my eyes again. And kids get sent home for wearing the wrong socks.

I cosplay and have met a lot of furries at different Cons and I STILL thought this post was going to be about an invitation made of fake fur.

A furry fandom wedding would be my biggest nightmare. Not only are the cosplay furries into this crazy fetish but seriously do you really want to rent a costume that a furry has dry humped in? Eww.

I’m not sure this is an event ds would want to go to.....he’s terrified of dressed up people when he can’t see their faces......

Ds used to have a real issue with people dressed up ‘in character’. I think he thought they were lying!
