So I have just been watching a documentary about Becky watts murder and everything about it was so shocking.

OP posts:
Mississippilessly · 12/05/2019 18:17

Completely agree. It's all I can think about.

Dont read it!!!

Bubblegumgal · 12/05/2019 19:01

Just read the Furuta & Sylvia Likens ones in quick succession. I feel physically sick.

Unfortunately there are many more cases like this, as those that are told don’t act.
A childhood friend of mine was being repeatedly beaten & raped by her father. She made us promise not to tell anyone, as she would get in trouble, but myself & another friend attempted to call childline. They said they couldn’t do anything unless she called them. We explained she wouldn’t and they had to do something & they accused us of making it up & hung up. Her and her family moved abroad shortly after.
It haunts me & I refuse to donate money to them.

@TopBitchoftheWitches

Wow you have just reminded me of that! I was fairly young at the time and remember being so traumatised, I was so scared to leave my mum in case something like that happened to here!
Some real ill people in the world :(

TopBitchoftheWitches · 12/05/2019 19:11

@fromyoutheflowersgrow

Which story?
If the second one were you local too?

PumpkinPie2016 · 12/05/2019 19:54

The moors murders - I am too young to have remembered it at the time as I wasn't born until the 80s but I live in the area whet the bodies were buried and so knew about the case.

Junko Furuta - really wish I hadn't read that. The poor girl Sad there really are no words for that one.

James Bulger/Baby P/Victoria Climbie/Holly Wells +Jessica Chapman - how anyone can harm a child is absolutely beyond me.

clairemcnam · 12/05/2019 20:25

The ones that get me are serial killers where no one knew there was a killer until bodies were found. Like Dennis Neilson. The people he killed were so vulnerable and on the margins of our society, that most had not even been reported missing and nobody was looking for a killer.

Any baby or young child that has obviously been abused since birth. You cant help thinking that it is not just that they were murdered, but that they never had any love and care.

Also an article I read about what Nazi soldiers did to two newborn babies. They did not even live a full day.

BlackCatSleeping · 12/05/2019 20:36

There was a case of three women who had been kept captive for years in the US and repeatedly raped and beaten before managing to escape. The guys's name was Ariel Castro. One had had a baby. I remember that one of the women, Michelle Knight, had no one looking for her. She had been reported missing and then it was dropped after a few months. I felt so sad for her that no one cared.

I wonder what happened to Madeleine McCann. At lot of the policework has focussed on paedophiles and paedophile rings. It's such a horrible thought. I feel so sorry for her parents and siblings.

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 12/05/2019 20:39

Baby Brianna omg absolutely horrific i feel sick. A whole family involved In abusing her. I’m going to stop reading these cases Sad

TeddiesAreTakingOver · 12/05/2019 20:44

The Chris Watts case was really shocking. I watched all the interviews and videos that where released and it’s just unbelievable. He’s a terrible liar so I don’t know how he ever thought he’d get away with it, but it’s just so sad what happened to his kids and wife.

puma84 · 12/05/2019 20:48

Tegan skiba murder affected me a lot. I don't get why so many women put their trust in boyfriends. It happens a lot and yet women are still leaving their kids 😡

Jennifer ertman and Elizabeth penna murder was horrific. I have daughters their age and it had me sobbing 😭

puma84 · 12/05/2019 20:52

@Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse horrific isn't it? I sobbed like a baby when that came out. I'd just had my daughter and it gave me nightmares for months. You can't imagine what that poor baby went through and for them to put a cage around her grave so people couldn't attend her grave and leave flowers/teddies was just another act of hateful cruelty towards her. Makes you just want to rescue these poor little kiddies and show them some love 😭😭

BootsMagoots · 12/05/2019 20:53

Mitchell Quy.

GorkyMcPorky · 12/05/2019 20:58

April Jones's murder. It's not that far away and we drive through the town now and then. She is always in my mind when we do so.

Whenever I read about a child really suffering I can't help but imagine the fear they must have experienced and wish so much that we could turn back time for them. I know that sounds mawkish. After the Dunblane massacre I couldn't help imagining my own little brother, who was the same age, suffering that terror. Crimes against children are so utterly appalling.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 12/05/2019 21:03

Meryln Nutall. The lady who was lured back to a house and brutally raped and tortured on her way to work back in 1992.
She wrote book called. It could have been you. Those words make me go ice cold because it could have been anybody.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 12/05/2019 21:11

Rhys Jones.

The case of 3 year old Serenity Richardson in US. Who was being minded by her mums best friend (Erica and Erica's Girlfriend). Serenity wet herself as a result they beat her with belts and hangers which lead to her death.
Theres on YouTube of the murdering scum bags freaking out and hypoventalating after hearing they'll spend life in prison.

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 12/05/2019 21:14

@puma84 it’s absolutely heartbreaking . Poor Brianna died without ever knowing love and cruelly denied a proper burial.

Mammatino · 12/05/2019 21:45

The mother of baby Brianna was released after serving 13 years. That poor defenceless baby. They are not human beings and it is degrading to animals to label them as such. They are a sub species horrific.

lastqueenofscotland · 12/05/2019 21:52

Michelle capper and April Tydsley

Mississippilessly · 12/05/2019 21:54

I've just read about baby Brianna. And then I went to the bathroom and sobbed.

Clearly you dont need to be a parent to understand why this is utterly horrific. But now I'm a mother I find it more incomprehensible, more reprehensible. When my son gets hurt it feels like I am hurt. When he cries i feel his anguish. How can anyone allow others to inflict pain on their own babies. How.

I feel hollow tonight. I'm a Christian and all i can do is hold on to a belief that all these poor poor people have a peaceful afterlife.

The world is a horrible horrible place.

GhostIsAGoodBoi · 12/05/2019 21:58

Oklahoma Girl Scouts. Heard it on the Crime Junkie Podcast. How 3 girls could be raped and killed right on a campsite with other kids and adults around is fucking beyond me. Killer never discovered.

BasilTheGreat · 12/05/2019 22:02

Sarah Payne, her abduction and murder and the continuous family tragedy. Her mum having a stroke and her father dying. Just heartbreaking. I can’t forget it.

AnAC12UCOinanOCG · 12/05/2019 22:10

The full transcripts of the Sylvia Likens case are online if you Google. Gertrude had no remorse and saw herself as a victim.

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 12/05/2019 22:16

God I wish it hadn’t started this thread Sad

But yes the one that broke my heart was Daniel pelka . He looked like the little polish lads at my school and it utterly haunted me . Both his mother and stepfather committed suicide in prison

As for Junko . And all Of them . May they all rest in peace eternal . You wish there was heaven when you read these stories

User12345677777 · 12/05/2019 22:18

@TopBitchoftheWitches It was the murder of Heather Barnett. She was a good friend of my family, my son was born on her birthday a couple of months before she died. She was over the moon about that and how she would think of him every year.
Her poor children, he knew they would be the ones to find her. He lived across the road and was one of the first on the scene outside apparently to ‘comfort them’.
Absolutely bloody horrendous

RussellSprout · 12/05/2019 22:28

The toy box killer, who trained his dog to rape his victims.
And the murderer was caught but died of a heart attack before he could be sentenced so no justice.
