So I have just been watching a documentary about Becky watts murder and everything about it was so shocking.

OP posts:
DerrenBrownings · 12/05/2019 22:30

@RussellSprout

You whaaaaaat?!?! Shock

Ginxed · 12/05/2019 22:50

Daniel Pelka and Tiffany Wright, both starved by their mothers and stepfathers. Tiffany ate the wallpaper around her bed, this details makes me sob to this day

Purpletigers · 12/05/2019 22:53

I’m not really surprised by any of the stories I hear now tbh . Humans are despicable creatures.

Lougle · 12/05/2019 22:55

Mikaeel Kular in 2014. His mother beat him because he got sick after a trip to Nandos, then he perished from his injuries over the course of 3 days. She reported him missing and a massive search was mounted, but she'd actually hidden his body in a suitcase, in the woods behind her sister's house.

Lougle · 12/05/2019 22:56

Mikaeel was 3 years old.

Why are you asking OP?
When have not posted since you asked the question many hours ago?
I am concerned by your motivation for asking the question. Isn't anybody else??

Joans3rddaughter · 12/05/2019 23:06

Sorry. Should read

GhostIsAGoodBoi · 12/05/2019 23:07

Andrea Yates here too.

She was extremely ill, never recovered from the post partum
Psychosis with her first, her husband wouldn’t allow her to get treatment or use birth control so they had more kids, they lived in a tiny caravan and he left them alone for long periods of time.

He should be in jail for it.

pallisers · 12/05/2019 23:13

What is horrific about the toy box killer is women who escaped - including one who had her throat slashed- were simply not believed. I'd love to think anything has changed but I don't think so. A woman can present with a slashed throat and injuries and a tale of abduction, torture and rape and STILL not be believed.

DelusionalDog · 12/05/2019 23:18

@Mississippilessly thank you

RussellSprout · 12/05/2019 23:30

Pallisers the women were drugged so had very hazy memories... Not excusing this but can see why the authorities at the time may not have followed it up

Bedforaweek · 12/05/2019 23:49

All of these horrific murders are haunting.

One case that recently stayed with me is of Rurik Jutting. A wealthy guy, who had a privileged upbringing in the UK and worked as a banker. He killed two Indonesian women whilst living in Hong Kong and whilst on drug binges. They were sex workers allegedly and he did unspeakable things to them. He filmed some of it and confessed to some of it. The horror they experienced is unfathomable.

Public school, Cambridge, parents who were apparently solid, a banker job with £4000 rental etc- on the surface he had an easy life. His capacity for evil or his evil nature is unexplained

Rachie1973 · 12/05/2019 23:59

The Philpott case. Those poor children.

Hannah Foster. I lived round the corner and it got to us all.

AmeriAnn · 13/05/2019 00:05

I can't recall her name but the woman that drowned her children but had extreme post partum psychosis. Always thought her husband should have been charged he was repeatedly told she was a danger to herself and the children also not to have any more children after the fist episode of psychosis yet he didn't believe in contraception because of his religion

Her name was Andrea Yates and her husband, Rusty Yates should have been put in prison as well.

PositiveVibez · 13/05/2019 00:08

Tbh becky Watts has been the one that has stayed with me. And also aleshya mcphail absolutely broke my heart.

I have a daughter and it got in my head that imagine her last moments.

Absolutely breaks my heart.

PositiveVibez · 13/05/2019 00:09

Aleisha - sorry

YouBumder · 13/05/2019 00:34

David Parker Ray omfg why did I read that?

I can’t believe human beings can be capable of such evil :( to even think these things far less carry them out. Those poor poor women :(

YouBumder · 13/05/2019 00:36

I feel so bad that I’ve looked up some of these stories it feels like I’ve just done that for my curiosity and it feels wrong :(

findingmyfeet12 · 13/05/2019 00:40

I am against the death penalty. When I hear about cases where children have been killed after a campaign of abuse, I find it hard to maintain my beliefs against the death penalty.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 13/05/2019 03:04

The Sophie Hook case has also stayed with me. That poor little girl.

BlackCatSleeping · 13/05/2019 05:14

Sentencing in the US is no joke, huh? Ariel Castro was sentenced to 1000 years. Yes, one thousand. Some of the UK sentencing seems so light in comparison.

However, when you hear that people are sentenced to 20 years just for stealing a TV it puts it all in perspective.

EmeraldShamrock · 13/05/2019 05:45

Crime story Diane downs, the jolly interviews she gave after shooting her 3 children.
Unfortunately some closer to home over the years.
One in court now, a 13 year old girl found dead, battered, sexuality assaulted, a pair of 13 year old boys are the suspects on trail, horrendous.

EmeraldShamrock · 13/05/2019 05:52

I just googled baby Brianna. 😭
Such evil, disgusting, I am horrified. Sad

notyourmummy · 13/05/2019 06:51

The Philpott children being killed by their own dad tore me up, but not as much as Tiffany Wright in Sheffield in about 2007 - I walked past the pub on my way to work and the thought that she was being neglected and dying there as the world carried on outside eats away at me still now.

cabcab · 13/05/2019 07:15

My god these are just awful, I sometimes despair of some supposed humans.
