So I have just been watching a documentary about Becky watts murder and everything about it was so shocking.

OP posts:
HoneyHarlow · 18/05/2019 09:23

@User12345677777 did you know her kids too?

hardyloveit · 18/05/2019 09:47

CSIBlonde yeah she served 19 years of a life sentence!
Yes I read Paula worked in a school for 12 years before being found out and sacked! Just horrendous

Qweenbee · 18/05/2019 09:52

I just watched the film " the Cleveland abduction". Very hard to watch.

WarCat · 18/05/2019 17:12

@JammyGem What pisses me off about Hansen is that one amazing woman managed to escape whilst handcuffed and even left her shoes behind in his car to try and leave evidence, and he still got off as the police thought a baker couldn't be a murderer HmmAngry. Never mind the fact she was handcuffed! And had been tied up and assaulted Hmm

acedeuce · 18/05/2019 17:21

I really wish I hadn't discovered this thread! It's not been good for my mental health.

Kittykat93 · 18/05/2019 19:01

@acedeuce

Me too 😞 I've had bloody nightmares! And visions of something happening to my son. My own fault I kept googling the cases I hadn't heard of and some of them have haunted me since

acedeuce · 18/05/2019 19:37

@Kittykat93 that's what I've been doing too Sad

DickieDonkey · 18/05/2019 19:44

When I was expected my my second DC there was a MN baby name thread from someone thinking about naming their DC Albert but was worried because their surname was Fysh. I had never heard of Albert Fysh but googled him and was horrified, the worst case I had read about.

Kittykat93 · 18/05/2019 19:56

Honestly my brain can't comprehend some of the cases I've seen on here. Beyond my worst nightmares. Feel so much sadness for the victims and their families. The world is a terrible place

Binting · 18/05/2019 20:18

The murder of Jamie Bulger knocked me for six, it was just so shocking. I cried a lot thinking about him and how confused and scared he must have been.

The other person I think about is 14 yr old Konerak Sinthasomphone who was one of Geoffrey Dahmer’s victims. He managed to escape when Dahmer went out for alcohol and 3 women tried to help him but he was quite disorientated (Dahmer had drilled a hole into his scull and injected hydrochloric acid into his frontal lobe). Dahmer came back and found Konerak with the women and said he was his boyfriend. The police came, believed Dahmer and told the women to butt out, they then walked Konerak back to Dahmers apartment (which stank as he had another body decomposing in the bedroom). One officer even looked in the bedroom quickly but didn’t see the dead body. Dahmer then injected Konerak a second time and killed him.

Mississippilessly · 18/05/2019 20:23

Some of these cases are absolutely shocking. A murder done in the heat of the moment is clearly not Ok (!) but you can understand it to some degree I think. But some of these are premeditated and so horrifically drawn out. People are terrifying.

Iamtinkabella · 18/05/2019 21:08

clares law should be an option for any individual wantingto find out somebodys oast before starting a relationship. Due to past experiences i can do this under good reason but many other people cannot due to not having a good reason. very very scary. If only i could of checked on EX(not d)p past i could of saved myself a lot of horrific abuse.

Iamtinkabella · 18/05/2019 21:08

excuse typos. bloody phoneAngry

cpjoli · 18/05/2019 21:09

Grace millan

Jiggles101 · 19/05/2019 08:29

Tinkabella many women don't want to hear it or don't believe though, I'm sure your ex was very plausible and convincing at the start.

I think there needs to be a register for Domestic Abuse Serial Perpetrators akin to the sexual offenders one. I also think DA should be classed as hate crime.

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 19/05/2019 12:21

Me either . I used to trawl stuff when I was younger and in a dark place . And this thread has bought this all back .

That said my nightmares are nothing in comparison .

I just work very hard to bat the bad thoughts away .

Lizzie48 · 19/05/2019 12:40

For me, it would be the Yorkshire ripper as I was growing up in Yorkshire when these murders were happening and women and girls were scared to be going out.

Also: April Jones, the Soham girls, James Bulger.

I also feel a lot of distress when hearing about one parent killing their children as an act of revenge against the other parent.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 19/05/2019 13:12

The Toy-Box Killer

His planning and execution of the crimes was chilling. His total disregard of the fact his victims were humans .

And he seemed on the surface to be an average bloke , ex military , did engineering , maintenance work.

He played tapes to his captives to outline what he would do, and what he expected of them.
The number of potential murder victims will never be known.

I was on a thread , the advice was don't Google (which I ignored , obvs)

Don't Google the TBK !

pinkoneblueone · 19/05/2019 17:32

Poor baby Stanley Davis, the amount of detail in the local papers was so awful. There was a similar case a few weeks after this one.

Thankfuckitsfriday1 · 19/05/2019 17:50

James bulgar and Rachel nickel, she was walking her dog in the park with her 3 year old when we was raped and murdered

BasilFaulty · 19/05/2019 18:14

The worst one for me is the Ding Murders. V outing, but I was on CID at the time in the force it happened in. A family of four were brutally murdered, stabbed to death, including their two daughters, youngest of which was 12. I won't go into the details, but safe to say numerous, hardened DC's took up the offers of counselling afterwards. It was on the same day as Kate and William's wedding and I can't see any of it now without thinking of that poor family.

SteelRiver · 19/05/2019 18:47

The Joanne Dennehey murders. She killed for kicks. Evil through and through.

Mississippilessly · 19/05/2019 20:07

I hate to sound like a DM reader, but how is it that the mother of Stanley Davis and her boyfriend only got 5 years of actual prison time each?
5 years. 5 years. For a life. For giving that tiny baby pain and suffering for his short life. They will be out before they are 30.
It actually makes me cry.

TooLittleTooLate80 · 19/05/2019 20:15

My ex used to work at one of the three high security hospitals in the UK. The "trigger events" that caused some of the patients admissions are the scariest crime stories ever. Thankfully you won't have heard of them.

DerrenBrownings · 19/05/2019 20:17

@TooLittleTooLate80 eh?
