I have been watching it too, it makes me cringe a little. Yes, it does make me think everyone’s having shit sex, I’m sure not all couples are like this but probably a lot of them. I think it’s easy to get stuck in the same boring routine and it becomes a chore. I’m glad I’m single, I was married for 12 years and the sex was miserable (same old position, vanilla and boring), I lost my sex drive completely until he moved out. The best sex I have had is in my 30’s, I worry about getting into a long term relationship if this is how things end up.

I split up with an ex because the sex was boring, as he was too. I realised if I felt like this after two years, it was not going to be any better twenty years later.
My DP and I have been together over 25 years and still have good sex. No fetishes, but we know how to please each other, and it is never boring.

In a real relationship, it is about closeness, caring about each other, a way to leave RL life behind for a bit and enjoy each other. Sometimes it is a full on session, sometimes just a quickie before the DC`s turn up or you fall asleep from exhaustion created by a full day at work etc.

You started as a couple so need to remind each other of that sometimes.

I remember being blown away (ahem) by how good my husband was at sex the first time we did it. It was a whole different level to the men I had slept with before.

My experience as a bisexual is that women are better at it than men. But my husband is by far the best I’ve ever had so maybe I just got lucky with my female partners.

Either way I expect loads of people across the country are suffering through terrible sex and that is a real shame.
