I know nothing about football but...

There are two football finals with teams from the uk. Liverpool vs Tottenham and Man U vs Arsenal (I think). They are being played in Madrid and Baku, so thats approx 50,000 extra people travelling from the UK, by air.

I get that the locations where agreed in advance but AIBU to be annoyed that we are all trying to be environmentally friendly with reusable bottles and wooden sodding toothbrushes and those with power have no regard for anything other than money!

And again, my opinion is stupid. Personally, I don't think wanting to see an end to the money spent treating people who have been affected by drunken football fights/injuries and the stupid".

Completely ridiculous to think that football causes this. These people would still be nasty drunks.

You really have a strange aversion to football, I presume your team reached neither final? You're a United fan I guess?

cabcab · 11/05/2019 16:18

All those thick academics with their wrong opinions about violence and abuse.

You're an absolute blind fool to think that academics don't show violence.or abuse......utterly ridiculous and naivety to the extreme.

Your original comments were daft but that comment is beyond stupid!

DontVisitMe · 11/05/2019 16:20

My team? Get a grip.

Um, you can't tell that I'm talking about in the context of football?

pikapikachu · 11/05/2019 16:20

You don't think that professionals get drunk and beat their wives? 😂 Only difference is that they can charge their drinking to the company that they work for and get away with it more as they can afford legal representation or use financial abuse to keep their wives in check.

DontVisitMe · 11/05/2019 16:21

Yet again, I'm talking about the context of football.

DontVisitMe · 11/05/2019 16:22

I don't drink alcohol, but my colleagues that do will be astounded to find out that they can charge their drinking to the university.

BadLad · 11/05/2019 16:23

Poster whose opinion is called ridiculous claims to be an academic.

Fancy that.

HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend · 11/05/2019 16:23

Even if the context is about football, majority of men don’t beat there wives up, a minority do, again with the sweeping generalisations.

Children will go on to become professional footballers, FACT!

HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend · 11/05/2019 16:25

And for that matter, woman included!

DontVisitMe · 11/05/2019 16:29

Yes, fancy that. My opinion has nothing to do with my profession.

Where did I say the majority of men beat women? The facts are, domestic violence incidents increase when there is a big football match on. It's not rocket science.

cabcab · 11/05/2019 16:30

@BadLad an academic indeed....... speaks volumes!

Academics don't follow football therefore don't beat their wives.....utterly, without a doubt, total. BOLLOCKS!

No academics follow football because they're all so so clever they just wouldn't! GrinGrinGrinGrin

Anyway I'll be glued to the TV tomorrow for the last games of the season and on the 1st for CLF!

cabcab · 11/05/2019 16:31

@DontVisitMe and at Christmas and at Easter.....ban those too?

NameChangeNugget · 11/05/2019 16:33

Ban everything!! Grin

cabcab · 11/05/2019 16:36

@NameChangeNugget you've got it! But not until after the champions league final, my team are playing! ⚽️

DontVisitMe · 11/05/2019 16:36

Academics don't follow football therefore don't beat their wives

Yeah, definitely said that Hmm

Really couldn't care less about Christmas or Easter. I'm an atheist. Far too intelligent to believe in religious crap Smile

sweeneytoddsrazor · 11/05/2019 16:42

@DontVisitMe you sound a real bundle of laughs.

HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend · 11/05/2019 16:42

I never said you did Confused you’ve said you want football banned for small minority of people.

Domestic violence increases on bank holidays, during the summer holidays, televised boxing fights, grand national and many other major event be that sporting or a public holiday.

derxa · 11/05/2019 16:42

What brings you pleasure in life? Do you normally wear a hair shirt?

cabcab · 11/05/2019 16:43

Ban football, don't drink, couldn't care less about Christmas or Easter.

I imagine you do have very like minded few friends...... you sound like a laugh a minute.

You care about domestic violence in terms of football but don't care in the terms of Christmas and Easter....so the issue is the actual game not the resulting actions?

HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend · 11/05/2019 16:45

Cabcab, I don’t even think she even knows.

It’s all very singular and narrow minded

cabcab · 11/05/2019 16:45

What brings you pleasure in life? Do you normally wear a hair shirt?

Not a football one obviously!

ilovesooty · 11/05/2019 16:48

Anyone would think from DontVisitMe that all the alcohol related A&E visits were down to football Hmm

NameChangeNugget · 11/05/2019 16:51

It’s such a lazy, tired argument Hmm

cabcab · 11/05/2019 16:51

It’s all very singular and narrow minded

But intelligent because she keeps telling us!

InspectorClouseauMNdivision · 11/05/2019 18:58
