To ask if you've ever been banned/barred from anywhere?

Was having a conversation with a friend this week and she's been banned from her local swimming centre for arguing with the receptionist. The receptionist didn't believe her daughters age and said that she was trying to get her in cheaper Confused resulting in the manager banning her for life!

It made me think of the time I was banned from Santa's grotto 15 years ago 🤦🏻‍♀️ I can't go into too much detail because it's extremely outing!

Have you ever been banned from somewhere and why?

Lighthearted 😬

I was barred from my local wine bar for calling the waitress eyebrows and then walking home with
M
my glass of wine after been asked to leave. I didn't even remember, went back the following week and the poor barman apologised but he wasn't allowed to serve me and explained. So I called the manager and he said I'd be allowed back in if I apologised. I left it a month and just went back 🤦🏻‍♀️

Also barred from a nail salon for returning after 2days with a new set of acrylics that had all lifted! They wanted me to pay for a rebalance...

notangelinajolie · 10/05/2019 13:25

Not banned but escorted from a shopping centre because Three phone shop wouldn't give me a refund. I was determined to sit it out but you can't argue with 2 big security guards especially when you have toddler and a crying baby with you.

I got my revenge (and my refund) a few days later when trading standards paid them a visit. Would have loved to have been a fly on the wall to see the look on the spotty snotty managers face. Still a bit cross that security took the wrong side but I think I will have to let that one go.

happyhillock · 10/05/2019 13:29

Try again.
Cafes and restaurants, for complaining about poor service, poor hygiene and poorly-prepared food.

adaline · 10/05/2019 13:44

I got kicked out of McDonald's once!

I needed the loo and they refused to let me without buying something (even though my friend was buying something) so I said if they didn't let me use the loo I'd wee on their floor (I may have been slightly drunk).

They let me use the loo but then made me leave Blush

Hungrymamabear · 10/05/2019 13:44

Only from local pub once upon a time for DTD in upstairs bar that was closed...
This is the same pub that didn't bar me for fighting, continuously throwing pints over an ex, drunkenly dropping glasses so they smashed (usually off the side of pool table) I think maybe they had enough of me and DTD gave them a good reason to bar me. Although I apologised about 4 weeks later and they let me back in...

honeylulu · 10/05/2019 13:48

Thrown out/ barred from a few bars for being intoxicated (teen/student) Blush

Once had to dash to Tesco Extra on Sunday just as I remembered it closed at 4 but recalled they can still process purchases until 4.20. Entrance door was shut so waited for someone to come out of the Exit door and slipped in. Unfortunately a security guard spotted me and frogmarched me out again. Mortifyingly someone from work witnessed it and thought I'd been caught shoplifting. I'm a solicitor.

Also got booted out of a few places thanks to my hellraiser of a best friend of my husband. Including a pub at the Henley Regatta when he was striding around challenging the toffs to arm wrestle with him.

RedBerryTea · 10/05/2019 14:08

Got escorted from and banned from an amusement arcade on the front at Porthcawl for nudging the Penny Falls machine (but the coins were soooo close to falling). It was a school orchestra trip and I was a goody two shoes so I felt completely humiliated Blush

TwinMummy1510 · 10/05/2019 14:21

You don't want to know how long I've been trying to work out what DTD meant.

I had to google it in the end and it was much more straightforward than I imagined. I was coming up with all kinds of kinky variations 😅😅

I’ve just remembered a very funny incident where my DH was very nearly thrown out of a football match between Leeds and Arsenal. He was there with my DB and an African friend who was staying with my DM at the time (he’s back home now). They were sitting with the home fans, being neutrals, but were within a stone’s throw of the Arsenal fans, who were on the other side of the fence.

However, there were also a few Arsenal fans dotted around where they were sitting, who the stewards were telling to leave once they were caught, when cheering Arsenal’s goals (they won the match 4-0, so this wasn’t hard).

For some reason, my DH was then taken for an Arsenal fan and told to leave. He remonstrated strongly with them that he wasn’t an Arsenal fan (he’s an Aston Villa fan actually), and managed to convince them that they had made a mistake.

So it wasn’t a banning but it nearly was one, in a case of mistaken identity.

OutInTheCountry · 10/05/2019 14:25

Burger King, Leicester Square. I'm not proud.

managedmis · 10/05/2019 14:27

Is didn't kniw they even had rules in Wales

Shock

Who knew

Raspberry88 · 10/05/2019 14:29

Was banned from a (rather grotty) pub when I was a student. I was beyond pissed and being a knob. They said they wouldn't serve me because I was too drunk and I said 'don't you know who I am?!!' Unsurprisingly they didn't and I was roundly barred. I think it was about 10 past 6 in the evening too, dreadful!
I was also told by the ambassador for a European country that I would never be welcome there. Totally unfairly too, it wasn't my fault and I was trying to help him! A bit of an empty threat, given that he didn't actually know my name but still all makes for a good story!

Jemima232 · 10/05/2019 14:32

I'm currently on a month's ban from another, similarly named parenting site.

My alleged crime was "writing in a pornographic way" and "uploading a pornographic image."

I did not do either. In actual fact, I do not know how to upload images (shows age and incapability here .)

Jemima232 · 10/05/2019 14:36

@outinthecountry

I was also banned from Burger King in Leicester Square.

DC were very annoyed with me as they were hungry and I'd argued with the manager, telling him the prices were outrageous (they were.)

He told me to leave his restaurant, so I said, snorting, "This isn't a RESTAURANT" which made him even more enraged as he showed us to the door.

Reasonstobeearful · 10/05/2019 14:43

Turfed out of club after puking over the dance floor (I know, gross). They told me I was banned but I went back the next week with no problems.

ControversialFerret · 10/05/2019 14:45

From a very grotty kebab shop in a popular city.

About 3am and very full of similarly drunk people, when a bloke starting hassling me despite the fact I'd done nothing to him. His friends were trying to shush him and my friends were giving him a roasting for being a twat but he still wouldn't stop. After he got right up in my face and called me a fat slag who needed a good kicking, I pushed out as hard as possible against his chest. He wasn't expecting it so it shoved him off balance and I used that momentum to get him pushed back against the wall. At which point I got right up in his face and told him that if he didn't fuck off and leave me alone, I'd do him some serious damage.

Kebab shop banned me not him. Sorry not sorry!

googleismyfriend · 10/05/2019 14:55

@FancyAPint how on earth did they justify that?

FairySunbath · 10/05/2019 14:57

There's some bloody good stories here! I (like most of you) have only been kicked off the "your bubz your roolz hun" sparkly ticker site.

BarredFromThePancakesFFS · 10/05/2019 15:21

NCed for this as it's but outing and makes me sound like a bellend Blush

I was banned from the Dutch Pancake House for throwing a pancake at DH

I was very very drunk at the time and very sad afterwards as the pancakes there were amazing.

(Also been barred from lots of bars and clubs for bad behaviour in the 90s but I only regret the pancake one Grin)

AvocadosBeforeMortgages · 10/05/2019 15:55

I was banned from Vodka Revs on my first day at university after deciding that the queue to get in was too long and boring, and opting to take the alternative route in via the fire escape Grin

user1471453601 · 10/05/2019 16:01

I was banned from a football forum for calling a poster who had made a homophobic post a twat.

Funnily enough, I frequent three football forums as well as this one. This forum is the only one that allows "swearing'.

ShakeYourTailFeathers · 10/05/2019 16:03

Not me, i'm a good girl, Grin

DH got chucked out of a nightclub for calling the DJ a wanker for playing Cheney Hawkes 'I am the one and only'

Good lad.

EastMidsGPs · 10/05/2019 16:31

Got marched out of a building and banned from ever stepping foot in there again.

My crime? It was a charity, I was sent there as a temp. Quickly uncovered gross mismanagement and misconduct so reported them to the Charity Commission and local council.
Continued to go into work but when they were contacted, shit hit the fan and they made me leave immediately.

Was vindicated later and the charity went bust.
