Was having a conversation with a friend this week and she's been banned from her local swimming centre for arguing with the receptionist. The receptionist didn't believe her daughters age and said that she was trying to get her in cheaper Confused resulting in the manager banning her for life!

It made me think of the time I was banned from Santa's grotto 15 years ago 🤦🏻‍♀️ I can't go into too much detail because it's extremely outing!

Have you ever been banned from somewhere and why?

Lighthearted 😬

My friends and I were banned from our local McDonald's when we were about 14. We were rural, and McDonald's opening in the next small town was a big thing for some weird reason back in the day. We'd go there after school, order meals and then attempt to sit in for as many hours as it took for them to throw us (and various other youth) out. We eventually got banned for making a mess with our wrappers etc. I'm afraid we did deserve that.

I've been banned from a few online forums at various times, usually I think for arguing with admin about something totally pointless.

Fontella · 14/05/2019 00:47

I got banned from a Menopause site. It's quite famous and you can find it easily but I won't name it.

The overwhelming majority of the participants are American and I'm not sure if something was lost in translation but I managed to offend many of them who reported me to the admin who kicked me off.

At the time I was going through the hell of peri-menopause and the myriad symptoms it brings, and was genuinely looking for answers to the horrors I was experiencing.

And then I came across a thread about thinning pubic hair. It was a long serious thread, where merkins were discussed at length. Everyone was sympathising and commiserating with each other.

At the time I was going through so many horrific symptoms that were affecting my life, that I'm afraid thinning pubic hair would have been at the very bottom of any list of concerns. I honestly wouldn't have cared if I was bald down there when I was struggling to get through the day panic attacks and hot flushes that made me want to dive naked into a snow drift, unable to sleep or feeling so tired I could barely stand up.

So I said so on this thread and got myself booted off.

@gammonnosher
I was removed by the police whilst calling them fascist bastards.
Then they threatened to arrest me for breach of the peace and I decided to be quiet 😂😂

I still makes me howl laughing when I tell the story

TheTurnOfTheScrew · 14/05/2019 13:08

I got barred from the Students Union bar for being caught in the gents' loo.
I went in to look after my flatmate who was legless drunk and vomiting, so harsh IMO.

I also got barred from a pub at university for topping up my soft drinks from a bottle of vodka stored in my bag - that one was a fair cop.

Vivianebrezilletbrooks · 14/05/2019 22:05

Remembered another! My entire art class was doing pottery and the teacher left the room for some reason and some of the kids decided to throw the clay up and see if it stick to the ceiling and it did. We all got banned from doing pottery for the whole year and the lumps of clay were there for a long time,I think they were still there when we all left that school. I'm sure there's people on here who know which school and year that was.

Dp’s ex wife has banned me from ever going into the village Penkridge-not that I’ll ever take any notice of that batshit crazy nutter

Up yours missus!

I was barred from a weatherspoons in Nottingham years ago. A member of staff came over to our table and demanded ID for everyone. I handed over my passport and she told me it was out of date. I eyerolled at her and said I must have missed the customs desk on the way in. So she told me to go get a lemonade (I was 26) or she’d make me leave. So I picked up my glass of wine and chugged it back in one go. She then picked up my handbag and coat and escorted me out.

skimask · 15/05/2019 08:51

When I was 17 I used a friends ID to get into clubs, we got to this one club and they asked for the post code and I froze up 😐they took the ID from me and told me to leave (I wasn't barred at that point).

Then my girlfriend at the time told me she knew a way of getting into the back of the club, so me, her and her cousin went climbing over walls and fences to finally get there and 4 OFF THE BOUNCERS were stood outside having a fag.

They grabbed me, chucked me out and told me I'd never be let back in because they'd recognise me!! Jokes on them, I've been back many times since! I do remember also that when I jumped over the last wall to the club I dropped my phone and they wouldn't let me go and retrieve it the next day😆

Ive been banned from church when i was 8 years old. Back then my school attended friday mass every week and i was banned because i was too loud. Got to sleep in every friday after that, so i wasnt sad about it.
Was banned from a night club in my early 20s because i punched a guy in the face when he grabbed my ass.
His nose was bleeding quite badly, but i still dont see how i was the one who was banned and not him!

ForalltheSaints · 09/12/2019 14:01

I was banned from being on Top of the Pops, as there were too many backing singers for the song I was on.

NoSauce · 09/12/2019 14:04

I got banned from a nightclub for headbutting a bloke on the dance floor who was trying to grope me. He got banned too. We had a bit of a row on the street outside and my friend ended up going home for an ONS with him

Sounds like a scene from Gavin and Stacey Grin

HigherFurtherFasterBaby · 09/12/2019 14:04

Sacked and barred from the city centre bar I worked in.

Threw a pint glass at a doorman and called him a disgusting cunt who should be banned from going within 100ft of any women, ever.

He was a vile twat who made extreme sexual comments to female bar staff constantly, until one of them broke down sobbing because she couldn’t take it any more.

I’d already told him to fuck off numerous times but seeing her cry really pushed me too far.

TheFuckingDogs · 09/12/2019 14:06

Great stories! I got banned from local pub twice in early 20s and from Asda for shoplifting as a young teen 🙈 spent a year having to make excuses to my mum whenever she said “come on time to go to Asda” 😂

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 09/12/2019 14:23

I wax banned from a Facebook page for answering the question "what do you do to stop your feet hurting when you wear high heels" with "rub ibuprofen gel on them". Apparently I was promoting drug use ConfusedHmm

Also banned from a couple of pubs, one for being affectionate with my boyfriend (we were cuddling, not even kissing or groping!) And the other for arguing with my boyfriend (the bouncer was an ex and it wad an excuse to piss me off). I was 17 both times. I later went in the first one with DH and was nervous that they would remember me and kick me out. They didn't but DH teased me about it anyway!

Wrybread · 09/12/2019 14:32

I was banned from a charity shop for asking the staff to please shut the door to the back room (where they were chatting loudly) so I didn't have to hear one of them being racist.

(I mean, I wish now that I'd called them out more firmly and filmed the whole thing too)

The manager reacted by shouting at me that I was banned from the shop and had to leave or they'd call the police ConfusedShockAngry

YellowSubmarine94 · 09/12/2019 15:15

I was banned from an AncestryDNA Facebook Group back in 2017.

What happened was, I was new to Facebook and didn't know what the "done thing" was. I had made a post announcing that I was leaving the group and going onto another similar AncestryDNA Group that was more relevant for me. I ended the post with "Hope to see some of you over there 🙂" I had no idea it made me look like I was attention seeking, I didn't mean it that way.

Anyway a few members were rude about it and I tried to be polite in replying to them but then I suddenly lost it, I made another post (Admin had disabled the commenting on my original post) and called out one particular woman and said that I feel sorry for the people who have the misfortune to share DNA with her.

Before I knew it, I could no longer access the page. I can now because I have a new phone (New I.P address) but catch me wanting anything to do with those snobby bastards again.

Great thread OP Grin

I got banned from a nightclub in Birmingham when I was about 17 for fighting (and yes I started it Blush ). It was a girl I knew and she absolutely had it coming. I was very quiet and shy and she got a bloody shock (and quite a decent right hook if I say so myself).

Her friend and my friend also ended up brawling and to this day the sight of a bouncer trying to pull my friend out by her waist while she was still holding onto the other girls hair makes me smile.

hushnowthanks · 09/12/2019 15:34

I once got banned from a naice wine bar for projectile vomiting in the foyer - out of sheer embarrassment, I’ve never been back since.

Lifecraft · 09/12/2019 15:39

Went to a company event once where everyone had to write 2 facts about themselves, anonymously on a bit of paper, and put the paper in a box. Organiser then pulled them out, read them out, and we had to guess who the facts belongs to.

She went thru about 10 normal ones, and then got to:

Fact1. My penis is the same size as an Argos pen.
Fact2. I am banned from Argos.

QuestionableMouse · 09/12/2019 15:43

A big car dealer in my town. They took my car to do a recall repair and fucked the heating. It had been working perfectly before it went in and didn't work at all when I got it back.

After much argument, they decided they'd charge me ££ to look into it. I asked what they'd do, then asked my BIL if he could do it for me. He did and it made no difference. Went back to dealership. They basically told me it wasn't their fault and to go away.

I was extremely mad so blocked the entrance to their car park with said car and told everyone who wanted to come in what they'd done (I had proof)

They phoned the police who came and asked me to move. I explained and the big manager of the dealership kindly offered to have another look at the car.

Turns out they'd missed quite an important part and the car could have caught fire at any time because the part they'd put in was also faulty.

I never got an apology and I'm not allowed back. Happened 5+ years ago and to this day I stick my fingers up if I have to drive past.

Aridane · 09/12/2019 15:44

I got banned from Egypt!!!

BobLobLawLLB · 09/12/2019 15:47

I was banned from a Prepper forum, for asking if Grimsby suffered from occasional earthquakes.

Confused
EleanorShellstrop100 · 09/12/2019 15:56

I got banned from a bar for getting too drunk before I went in and ordering loads of drinks for loads of people at the bar before realizing that I’d lost my bank card and then apparently being really horrible to the bouncer Blush Still feel bad about that and it was a good 12 years ago.

BeatriceTheBeast · 09/12/2019 16:11

@hushnowthanks

I used to work in a vair, vair naice country pub. We once held a wine tasting event during the day and a woman had a lot to drink, went to the loos and somehow had a.. erm... number two accident, very badly and used those flannels you get in naice establishments to clean herself up. Poor woman. But more so, my poor young, male manager who had to clean the loos before dinner service that night Shock.
