I noticed something really odd today, something I can't unsee!
My DD, 3, puts her trousers on before her socks!!

AIBU to think that this is absolutely crazy, and to question if she's even mine

Skinny jeans may need you to put socks on first, otherwise it's socks after trousers.

Nooo, socks on FIRST please! DP and I always put socks on first, but he does like to test me by putting trousers on DS (3) before socks

My DD does this too. The rest of us put on socks first. I consider socks to be an undergarment so it's underwear, socks then clothes.

I put my trousers on after breakfast/shower and may only later decide whether I'm going out and will take the sock decision depending on what shoes I'm going to wear and what the weather is like.

Socks go over not under tight skinnies and leggings surely - otherwise they make an unsightly and uncomfy bumfle? Hence why they go on last.

I'm so impressed by your daughters instinctive logic. Unlike me (and most of you by the look of it) she will never have to screw her hand up inside her trouser legs to sort out the crumbled sock-lump that mysteriously appears mid-calf every single time I get dressed.

Socks last obviously. Apart from my OH who thinks it's acceptable to wander round in his boxers and socks. He also doesn't separate kit kat fingers. I don't know how we're still married.

Well yeah, I get up, showered, dressed socks first of course then go out to work or wherever. I dont bother with any of that faff until I will be leaving the house.
If I am not even leaving the house that day (extremely rare event) I put on some joggers and t shirt, no socks but slippers.

Of course socks go on after trousers! You'd look blooming weird running around in socks and pants!

With a 3 year old, I'd just be glad they're wearing trousers. I had more than one who felt that should be optional.

I have never really thought about it before, but I probably do it in an all broken order as socks are the first thing I put on after a shower. I hate cold feet and apparently would rather look odd in just socks than just pants.

The rest of my family only wear socks if they're wearing shoes and so do it last. They also wear normal thin socks rather than my lovely thermal soft ones.
