@Reallybadidea
Kate won what exactly?

Coolcoolcoolcoolcool · 08/05/2019 15:05

I"m 6 weeks post partum with second, getting 3 hrs sleep a night, and a very energetic toddler. I think parenting is great, hard work, obviously, but great.

Just want to say well done Meghan and good luck to them all. I'm a Republican at heart but jesus the shit that gets thrown at these 2, now 3 makes me come out all protective.

aintnothinbutagstring · 08/05/2019 15:06

The three of them are gorgeous. White dress is risky but better than the backless NHS gown I was wearing in all my postnatal pics Grin

Mumberjack · 08/05/2019 15:07

I hope afterwards Meghan said thank gawd that’s over, tied her hair back and put her comfy joggers and slippers back on Grin

They’re happy new parents, giving the public a wee look at their baby. Job done (for now)

Ghanagirl · 08/05/2019 15:09

@Studentnurse1981
Really you’re a student nurse?
You have missed the empathy syllabus.
Don’t compare two completely different mothers.

The80sweregreat · 08/05/2019 15:11

as much as i am not a fan of all things royal, if they hadnt brought out baby sussex for a photo shoot, the rumour mill would have gone into meltdown as they cant do much right in anyone's eyes. Some people are interested in Harry and he does have a special place in people's hearts as he lost his mum so young I think - if she were still alive i doubt there would be quite as much fuss somehow.

they are dammed if they do these sort of things and dammed if they don't.

RubberTreePlant · 08/05/2019 15:12

Surprised she still went for high heels, nice frock, standing in front of arrayed media, and so on.

I was expecting them to be sitting on a nice sofa with just one (pooled) cameraman and one (pooled) photographer, after all the fuss.

Crispyturtle · 08/05/2019 15:15

Lovely! In a world of endlessly shite news it’s been nice to see some people looking happy and a cute baby.

Ghanagirl · 08/05/2019 15:19

@Cherrytreesa
Why do you feel the need to be offensive about a beautiful woman who gave birth 2 days ago?
What’s funny so funny about criticising a new mother on a forum that’s supposed to support new parents.

The80sweregreat · 08/05/2019 15:22

Of course she had to come out looking ' nice' and that dress is probably hung up and the comfy clothes are back on!
If she had come out looking scruffy or a top with milk down it, i can just imagine the threads on here!! That would never happen of course.
The pressure to look good must be huge, i dont envy her or Kate or any of them. the first few days after giving birth are pretty awful whoever you are!

Scarcelyburnt · 08/05/2019 15:22

I think once people come to terms with their racism, they'll calm down. Meghan is mixed race. So too is her baby. The new addition to the royal family had black blood coarsing through his veins. Get over it.

Anyone who gets so exercised over Megan's race that they have to dish out so much bile must be phenomenally stupid. No race is better than another.

Meghan is a beautiful, successful, and independent woman. I am proud that Harry did not give a toss about race when he chose her and she chose him.

feelingverylazytoday · 08/05/2019 15:24

Bless them, deluded fools. "Parenting is great". Yeah Harry, give it about 12 hours, they all sleep in the first 2 days and tthey spend 9 months unleashing hell
No they don't all do that, none of my 3 kids did, some people do find parenting reasonably easy and even enjoyable at times rather than a horrendous ordeal.

TellItLikeItReallyIs · 08/05/2019 15:32

@Quintella LOL at this !!! Grin

Good on meghan... Not standing on hospital steps in precarious heels with perfect blow dry

Oh she really showed 'em......standing in a castle in precarious heels with a perfect blow dry

RubberTreePlant · 08/05/2019 15:32

"Comfortable" doesn't have to mean "scruffy" and milk stained Confused

LittlePaintBox · 08/05/2019 15:35

I have to admit, the video made me smile, especially the way Meghan can't keep her hands off the baby.

And I was a bit worried for her, standing for so long shortly after giving birth - I think I was still flat-out on the settee at this point!

RubberTreePlant · 08/05/2019 15:36

I just hope the high heels etc isn't an indication that she feels under pressure.

I definitely would have been squishy sofa, cashmere tracksuit, press walk-in, get shots, press leave.

I'm Shock at those four inch heels.

RaptorWhiskers · 08/05/2019 15:36

Bless them, deluded fools. "Parenting is great". Yeah Harry, give it about 12 hours, they all sleep in the first 2 days and tthey spend 9 months unleashing hell
They’ll be unleashing it on the nanny though. I’m sure parenting IS great when you don’t actually have to parent. I’d love to just do the fun bits then hand my DC to a nanny when I was tired or fed up.

threedeepatthebar · 08/05/2019 15:39

Bless her, I wish she’d been able to just wear a nice soft navy wrap dress or something. I’d have cried at the thought of having to put on a dress and heels on day two. She rocked it though!!

threedeepatthebar · 08/05/2019 15:40

@feelingverylazytoday miaow!!!

Quintella · 08/05/2019 15:41

I'm assuming she chose her own clothes! I doubt some grey suited type left the frock and heels in her chamber with a note saying 'The Firm requests you wear this for the photo call' Grin

Mrsmadevans · 08/05/2019 15:45

'Jesus, remember when you could make a little light joke on MN without being torn to shreds.'

No , never Grin
Beautiful baby , parents look madly in love and very proud . All is well in the land . Peace be upon you .

threedeepatthebar · 08/05/2019 15:46

Of course but there’s definitely got to be an element of pressure. What I mean is it would be nice if there wasn’t the pressure for her to look ‘done up’.

AllPowerfulLizardPerson · 08/05/2019 15:47

Can't really tell if the babe is cute or not.

Nice blanket, though

RubberTreePlant · 08/05/2019 15:48

I doubt some grey suited type left the frock and heels in her chamber with a note saying 'The Firm requests you wear this for the photo call'

Of course they don't.

Which makes you wonder why she'd choose four inch heels. Internal pressure?

Quintella · 08/05/2019 15:50

She's spent years on the red carpet in killer heels, I doubt she considered flats for the 2 mins she had to spend in front of the friendliest possible press audience.
