To sneak a McDonald's into the cinema

Would it be wrong to sneak a big mac and fries into the cinema? I usually just take a bag of sweets and bottle of water. I refuse to pay the cinema prices for food. The film I want to see tomorrow is 3 hours long, plus 30 minutes or so of adverts. It starts at 11.30am. Do you take your own food into the cinema?

Have taken McDonald’s happy meals in,I even prepared by taking ziplock bags

SihtricsHorseWitnere · 03/05/2019 22:12

No chance as mn folk claim to smell febreeze, glade, perfume, conditioner, plug ins, fast food and fabric softener within a 45m radius. And immediately gag and faint

Exactly! Also anyone who hasn't showered and washed their hair in the past 2 hours and even if they're wearing a bra that hasn't been freshly washed.

everythingisginandroses · 03/05/2019 22:12

Good call, OP. Flowers cause they smell better Grin

londonrach · 03/05/2019 22:15

Of course you can take food in due nothing that smells. Mcdonalds smells so its a huge nono

SihtricsHorseWitnere · 03/05/2019 22:17

No more smelly than the food that's sold in the cinema. But you're not supposed to eat that on MN, either.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 03/05/2019 22:27

Ahh the mn odourless chicken cooked in cola.no nasty smell.just whiff of smuggery

Rosielee93 · 03/05/2019 22:35

Do it!!!!! Sounds amazing! Dont know why i didnt think of it sooner.

CalmdownJanet · 03/05/2019 22:36

We once went to the drive thru (two hours hence only going once) it was bliss! Slippers, fleecy blanket, pillow and 15 minutes in we get a knock on the window with a big pizza and proper chipper chips, that was so worth the journey!

InceyWinceyette · 03/05/2019 22:37

"Mmmm roll and crisps. Good choice"

No! N-o-o-o-o-o crisps. Please no crisps. I go to a cinema where hot food is banned and how I wish hey would ban crisps.

I don't go to our local Odeon. Those Odeon Nachos smell totally rancid. In the dark I can't tell if someone is cleaning between their toes or eating that fake cheese.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 03/05/2019 22:38

Yes to crisps a big multipack with dips.go to supermarket first

Mother87 · 03/05/2019 22:38

Done this lots of timesBlushwith all sorts of food (even fish and chips and dim sumGrin) And NOTHING can compete with nachos and cheese sauce for smelliness anyway!

Stoplookandgo · 03/05/2019 22:40

yes op take a nice quinoa salad that will really hit the spot when you fancy a big mac!. Go early have your maccy then get loads of snacks to take into the movie and enjoy. ( I also take a couple of those cans of gin & tonic)

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 03/05/2019 22:41

Cinema with food is a given. So no I won’t go without or go odourless

Studentnurse1981 · 03/05/2019 22:42

Tge odean cinema near me has notices up about not allowing McDonalds burger King or KFC into cinema

myrtleWilson · 03/05/2019 22:42

@MrsIronfoundersson this corner of the Church blesses you!

UnPocoLoco2 · 03/05/2019 22:47

I've never understood why people have to eat at the cinema. It's like all the kids clubs that give out snacks . Are we all such obsessed chubsters that we cannot go for a few hours without eating something?
But seriously YABU because maccyD food stinks, especially at 11am. If you must eat just bring a bottle of water and a banana. Maybe a cheese sandwich too. Nobody will notice if you keep them in a backpack.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 03/05/2019 22:47

Take the MN Everlasting Chicken then you can share it round the audience.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 03/05/2019 22:49

Haha yes the mn chicken serves 75,serve it with LOADS of veggies
Kids can silently sook a carrot

Duck90 · 04/05/2019 01:46

I know Op has changed her mind, so not about her. However the smell of macdonald’s is very strong. It’s a distinctive smell, and not pleasant - it also lingers. Everything in moderation, but please not in a cinema.

I agree with others... just because no one complained about your food in the cinema, doesn’t mean they couldn’t smell it. That would mean starting an awkward moment with someone who doesn’t care about others comfort. Not worth the confrontation, in my opinion.

MrsFoxPlus4 · 04/05/2019 01:55

Nothing smells as bad as those hotdogs being eat and the feety cheese smelling nachos. Eat whatever you like ☺️

flyingspaghettimonster · 04/05/2019 02:01

This kind of thing is why I wait till a movie has been out ages... so all the snuffling scoffing munching slurpers have already seen it. People suck.

MrsFoxPlus4 · 04/05/2019 02:08

Only on MN would people get angry at people wanting to eat in the cinema, all cinemas near me sell food hot & cold. Iv seen someone on here say it’s “acting entitled” to want to eat during a 3.5hr film 😅, suggesting taking a sandwhich instead or picking up a Waitrose quinoa salad 😭 I usually just go by the rule of no rustly food. McDonald’s will be good once it’s out the bag!

Saavhi · 04/05/2019 02:12

Recently got on a packed London bus with a family of 3 stuffing their faces with Big Mac's whilst standing, absolutely revolting. It was raining so the bus was really humid and damp, inconsiderate people everywhere.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 04/05/2019 02:14

This thread is a hoot for the sheer righteous indignation and daft suggestions
Scum, folk who eat fast food, don’t forget that one
People,should eat Odourless,inaudible food
A Waitrose quinoa pot is acceptable. Or a quiet pret sandwich.MacDonald’s is not
No slurrrping,sooking,gulping,rustling,chewing,swallowing.Just no!

MrsFoxPlus4 · 04/05/2019 02:21
