To sneak a McDonald's into the cinema

Would it be wrong to sneak a big mac and fries into the cinema? I usually just take a bag of sweets and bottle of water. I refuse to pay the cinema prices for food. The film I want to see tomorrow is 3 hours long, plus 30 minutes or so of adverts. It starts at 11.30am. Do you take your own food into the cinema?

Didn't expect so many replies. I ate my mcdonalds at mcdonalds and therefore missed most of the adverts before the film. Didn't eat anything during the film. There was someone there who was making lots of noise eating individually wrapped sweets. Not sure if I was just more aware of it because of this thread.

I carry one of those Glade spray things on my body and hook it up to a battery so every time someone moves near me, there's a nice spray of air freshener, Lipstick, don't you?

mumlikeaboss · 04/05/2019 18:24

I don't think 'nonplussed' was really the word you were after, either 😁😁

SihtricsHorseWitnere · 04/05/2019 18:25

Okay, mum, then how about she doesn't give a fuck?

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 04/05/2019 18:38

Nonplussed,It is very much the word I was after and I intentionally chose it

I'm annoyed at anyone taking any type of food into a cinema/theatre.

I've paid to watch and be able to HEAR the performance/film. Not hear folk fiddling with fucking wrappers/slurping/munching/passing round.

Average length equals an hour and a half? And people can't go that without stuffing faces Hmm

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 04/05/2019 18:50

And what if the cinema sells food, are you annoyed at the business?
Theatre doesn’t sell nachos, pizza, hotdog, garlic bread so I don’t take them in

SihtricsHorseWitnere · 04/05/2019 18:54

Well, my guess isn't you go to cinema much then, dont, because they sell all manner of food in there for people to eat whilst viewing. If that annoys you, that's your problem.

mumlikeaboss · 04/05/2019 19:11

Shittrickshorse oh I can tell that, lol

mumlikeaboss · 04/05/2019 19:12

DGAF and nonplussed do not have interchangeable definitions, IMO.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 04/05/2019 19:21

I think you’ll find language is fluid and nonplussed can indeed mean indifferent, nonchalant
Nonplussed is commonly understood to mean unperturbed

It was a joke dearie.. Ever heard of them?

SihtricsHorseWitnere · 04/05/2019 19:33

Why no, sweetie luv, I sure haven't just like you failed to understand my response to you was agreement mixed with sarcasm. I honestly don't give a fuck what people eat in a cinema, personally.

mouldyhousemouldylife · 04/05/2019 19:35

Love McDonald's but yabvu. No hot food, don't be selfish. Nobody else wants to smell it.

Cheerybigbottom · 04/05/2019 19:50

The showcase I saw endgame in last week served hot food. Fish and chips, chicken nuggets and burgers etc. The room absolutely stunk-also at 11.30am!

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 04/05/2019 19:52

Dig deeper see the etymology and use of the word nonplussed
Modern linguists accept its dual meaning

Sorry to disappoint the snob in you but the beef isn’t processed“

Unless it’s served up as a slab of beef, sorry but it’s processed. It’s not magically turned into burgers.

Parttimewasteoftime · 04/05/2019 20:01

I have taken full on pack luck boxes into cinemas before no questions asked.
Cold pizza sandwich sweets the lot as OP decided a Maccy d only smell would offend.

maddy68 · 04/05/2019 20:04

The smell and rattling would really piss me off tbh. The cinema is for sweets but not meals. But in answer to your question you can take in your own food don't sit by me or we will have words

ChiaraRimini · 04/05/2019 20:05

Easy answer- just don't go to the cinema to watch utter rubbish, then you won't have to share air space with junk food guzzlers.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 04/05/2019 20:09

Lol at Mandy getting all phil Mitchell you can take in your own food don't sit by me or we will have words
Do you do a gravelly voice, act like a z list gansta when you say that

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 04/05/2019 20:12

I’m laughing even more now maddy will ave words.oh you couldn’t make it up

mumlikeaboss · 04/05/2019 20:12

Lipstick ah, it's an American thing 👍🏼 you're forgiven
