To sneak a McDonald's into the cinema

Would it be wrong to sneak a big mac and fries into the cinema? I usually just take a bag of sweets and bottle of water. I refuse to pay the cinema prices for food. The film I want to see tomorrow is 3 hours long, plus 30 minutes or so of adverts. It starts at 11.30am. Do you take your own food into the cinema?

Um, I know, Mrs. I was agreeing with you and being sarcastic. Many people don't give a rat's arse if people eat in the cinema, or what, but on MN it's a crime up there with kids growing up without a garden, eating meat or having a BBQ in your garden in Summer without clearing it with all neighbours in a mile vicinity.

MrsFoxPlus4 · 04/05/2019 14:53

SihtricsHorseWitnere my apologise for being rude then 😅 you’ve hit the nail on the head 😂😂

howabout · 04/05/2019 14:56

Cinema popcorn stinks, is noisy and messy and leaves a cloying atmosphere. Cannot imagine a McDs would make matters any worse.

I seldom go to the manky places these days especially when you have to factor in Lynx drenched chatty teenagers who can't sit still and need the loo every 5 minutes.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 04/05/2019 14:56

Cinema food menu inc pizza, beef dog with onion, mustard, garlic bread, chilli nuts, wine, milkshake for consumption watching movie

SihtricsHorseWitnere · 04/05/2019 14:57

It's okay, I was just taking a break from going from beer garden to beer garden telling off punters sitting in them smoking and going mad at colleagues who put on their makeup in the works toilet. Grin

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 04/05/2019 14:59

They don't allow McDonald's though do they NOT correct
numerous posters confirm they’ve taken McDonalds to the cinema no challenge

MrsFoxPlus4 · 04/05/2019 14:59

I honestly hope the OP didn’t take a Quinoa salad like suggested

mumlikeaboss · 04/05/2019 15:01

LipstickHandbagCoffee can you learn to put spaces after your commas? My eyes hurt reading your comments.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 04/05/2019 15:14

Your Eyes hurt?i will add that to list of things I’m nonplussed about,if I can be bothered

MrsFoxPlus4 · 04/05/2019 15:31

On another note where can I read a thread about the mumsnetter with the nose of a bloodhound sniffing out unwashed underwear

MrsFoxPlus4 · 04/05/2019 15:45

They could hand theses out at cinemas, the smellers wouldn’t need to smell or watch the eaters

SihtricsHorseWitnere · 04/05/2019 15:55

The threads are legion, Mrs. The 'polite, furtive sandwich' on the train one was classic. The same poster couldn't believe a diabetic passenger might need to eat on longer journeys and should only have rice, crisps or cake, all of which would spike the person's blood sugar but you know, people could smell food!

Strugglingtodomybest · 04/05/2019 16:00

Glad you changed your mind OP, taking a Maccy D's into the cinema is just rank.

I'm another one who doesn't get the need to eat through a film, surely if you're concentrating on the film then you're not concentrating on the food and just mindlessly shovelling it into your gob anyway so what's the point?

Sweetpea55 · 04/05/2019 16:13

I'd find it difficult to see to eat a Big Mac in the cinema
The layers seem to slide apart.

What about a nice egg mayo sandwich.....?

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 04/05/2019 16:46

Egg?my god the vapours alone will fill that room causing seizures and bunions

Moominfan · 04/05/2019 16:51

Been and gone but I've taken McDonald's into vue cinema before. Nobody said anything

MrsFoxPlus4 · 04/05/2019 16:51

Not if the nice egg sandwhich came from m&s or Waitrose

SihtricsHorseWitnere · 04/05/2019 16:51

Egg mayo? Are you on glue? MNers can smell that from their laptops right now. How offensive. You probably wear perfume, too.

SihtricsHorseWitnere · 04/05/2019 16:53

Moomin, that is because they were too busy gagging on the fumes whilst posting outrage on MN from their phones.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 04/05/2019 17:00

Been to cineworld, and vue with McDonald’s,never been challenged or declined admission

What did you do with it?

Scoff?
Guzzle?
Pig?
Trough?
Chomp?
Stuff?

SihtricsHorseWitnere · 04/05/2019 17:11

Slurp, rustle, mangle . . .

Ragwort · 04/05/2019 17:46

This thread has just really put me off going to the cinema ever again; I enjoy a McDonalds meal but I can’t imagine wanting to eat it, in the dark, whilst trying to concentrate on a film. Hmm

My friend belongs to a film society where they have a very strict no eating policy, I love going there.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 04/05/2019 17:53

What did I do?well I dragged my perfumed self into the cinema, applied hand cream
I sooked coffee through a plastic lid making a click clickity noise
I rustled for a prolonged period wrappers, bags, lids
Made Psssshhhhtttt noise opening ginger bottle, repeatedly
I sluuuuuuuuuuuuuurped coffee loudly
I got my perfume out mid movie had a big spray

AngelinaNeurosurgeon · 04/05/2019 17:56

The smell is what I hate about certain cinemas - popcorn, nachos and farts - Envy
