To sneak a McDonald's into the cinema

Would it be wrong to sneak a big mac and fries into the cinema? I usually just take a bag of sweets and bottle of water. I refuse to pay the cinema prices for food. The film I want to see tomorrow is 3 hours long, plus 30 minutes or so of adverts. It starts at 11.30am. Do you take your own food into the cinema?

OP posts:

You habitually keep asserting eat in McDonalds prior to movie.missing point
I have explained repeatedly it’s food and cinema, that’s the point.Food with the movie

PassMeTheWine · 04/05/2019 12:26

I'd take in something less smelly, I usually take in a meal deal from tescos.

YemenRoadYemen · 04/05/2019 12:29

Hilarious!

Good times for you though, it seems.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 04/05/2019 12:32

It’s not Hilarious in the least,it is an occasional takeaway in cinema
Doesn’t require advanced logistics.Fine motor skills.mastication.thats it

Lipstick I've asked you about three times now, what's wrong with non smelly food and snacks? Typical cinema food is popcorn and a drink, maybe some sweets.

SihtricsHorseWitnere · 04/05/2019 12:51

Actually for many, it's the nachos, hot dogs and pizza the cinema sells to customers to eat whilst viewing the entertainment.

And offensive and inconsiderate on MN is a lot of ado over nothing in much of the rest of the world. So many professionally offended MN is so offended by everything it's a wonder how they get out of the house and function in society at all - no BBQs in your garden the smell might offend the neighbours it's so inconsiderate, make sure you shower and wash your hair immediately before leaving the house every time as your smell might offend others, don't ever use perfume or scented laundry detergent or fabric softeners because it can offend someone, eat in private every time because the smell and sound of your eating can offend someone . . .

SihtricsHorseWitnere · 04/05/2019 12:53

Oh, and from another thread, you're also not supposed to put on your makeup or touch up your make up in a works loo because others might have a shy bladder.

SoleBizzz · 04/05/2019 12:54

YABU it stinks. I would go mad at you.

SihtricsHorseWitnere · 04/05/2019 12:56

Popcorn smells. According to some on MN they can't abide the smell and people all 'chomp' it. Or drinks, they can hear those, too, and are offended.

Monty27 · 04/05/2019 12:56

Why would you have the ask in the first place?

YouBumder · 04/05/2019 12:57

Yep and if the school do a fundraiser you don’t approve of you can’t just ignore it but your must WRITE TO THE HEAD AND THE PTA to let them know how disagreeable and SHAMING it is. Honest to fuck.

WindsweptEgret · 04/05/2019 12:59

Those who think smelly processed food is part of the cinema 'experience', it may enhance your cinema 'experience', but ruin it for many others who have to sit in the cinema with you. It's just an inconsiderate thing to do.

borntobequiet · 04/05/2019 12:59

Mc Donalds should have film showings which would go some way towards resolving the problem.

Confusedbeetle · 04/05/2019 13:01

Eating anything at the cinema is rank. One of the reasons I no longer go. The sound and smell of others eating...

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 04/05/2019 13:17

Typical cinema food is popcorn and a drink, maybe some sweets
No that’s not the case
Actually cinema sells pizza, nachos beer, crisps, hot dogs, chilli nuts, garlic bread, popcorn, milkshake, tea, coffee, coke, fanta to eat and drink during movie

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 04/05/2019 13:21

In fairness considering the heightened olfactory acuity of the mn nose modern life is deemed inconsiderate
The mn. nose can smell fabric conditioner, hair conditioner, perfume.all deemed rank
So someone eating the food the cinema well that’s sure to cause gagging, nausea, faintness

SihtricsHorseWitnere · 04/05/2019 13:22

Ah, but Lipstick, you know well that you're never supposed to eat in public - it might offend someone! A 'polite, furtive' sandwich on a 12-hour train journey, perhaps, but make sure the filling meets Non Offensive to Anyone Standards (which means you can't eat it).

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 04/05/2019 13:25

Ahh yes the quiet sandwich to be sooked, never chewed.odourless of course
The family dressed like Amish as treated cottons, coloured clothes as hell for sensitive nose
No perfume, scents, soaps as these will induce hives in an instant

femfemlicious · 04/05/2019 13:27

OP...i always take in a nice kfc when I go to the cinema... worry not! Take your McDonald's. At that time the cinemas are usually quite deserted so sit away from people.

WindsweptEgret · 04/05/2019 13:28

Some people are inconsiderate of those around them, there is always the option of trying to give thought to the impact of your behaviour on others though.

GimmeBread · 04/05/2019 13:28

Friends of mine once took a flask of homemade soup with them!

SihtricsHorseWitnere · 04/05/2019 13:29

But you must have showered and washed your hair immediately prior to leaving and make sure all your clothes are clean (but odourless) because people can smell when you haven't washed your bra and find it offensive.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 04/05/2019 13:29

Yup done that soup, baguette and Brie

SihtricsHorseWitnere · 04/05/2019 13:31

Friends of mine once took a flask of homemade soup with them!

OMG! How inconsiderate! Wink. Bet it stunk to high heaven and then the sound of them eating it offended all those who weren't offended by the rank smell and the ones who didn't faint or break out in hives probably killed your mates with their flask/'went mad at them'. Grin

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 04/05/2019 13:32

My cinema sells pizza, nachos beer, crisps, hot dogs, chilli nuts, garlic bread, popcorn, milkshake, tea, coffee, coke, fanta to eat and drink during movie
If it’s such an olfactory asault why is it so popular?huge queues
Why is it offered? Clearly there is profit and demand
