To getting annoyed when people say ‘you look well’

I had my baby almost 6 months ago and I know (hope) it won’t be permanent but currently I look fat, exhausted, and my skin is somehow covered in spots and dry and flaky at the same time, just generally haggard. I do not look well.

I saw a few people today that I haven’t seen since DD was born and every single one of them said a variation of ‘you’re looking well’ - if this is me looking well what the fuck do they think I looked like before.

I think I probably ABU to be so annoyed but am I really?!

Gosh good to know. I’m in the south east and always used this to mean someone is looking healthy, tanned from holiday, slim, rested - take your pick. Never fat - why would I comment on that 😒

But obviously it means that in some areas - so good to know and be cautious!

Am I the only one who's never realised 'you look well' means you look huge!? Now I'm questioning every time someone has said that to me 😂 I was happy being ignorant thinking it was a compliment!

I was told "you look well" this week. I have a BMI of 19 - they most definitely didn't mean "you look fat". I took it as a compliment.
