After the deletion of various threads on here (you know what I'm talking about) Grin

Just wondered what is the most bonkers mumsnet thread you've ever witnessed or came across?

There have been some VERY memorable threads on here. I didn't know the one where the OP was in labour having a premmie whilst her DH was water ski-ing was a troll thread!

The one who's popped up under at least a couple of usernames who is allegedly a senior manager in a company where they don't let people go home for emergencies, decide whether employees will be allowed to go sick according to the needs of the business, monitor how long employees spend in the loo, and when even senior employees give in their notice they instantly put them on photocopying and opening the post. The sole function of senior management seems to be to police all of that.

Her husband also apparently runs a school along similar lines, with staff being expected to give up hours and days of their free time for parent/teacher evenings, parents being expected to remove children no questions asked if the school disapproves of them in some way, and children being permanently excluded if their parents dare to question the school in any way.

Strangely, she becomes quite evasive when asked how they defend the employment tribunal and other legal actions that would inevitably result if any of this stuff were true.

IvanaPee in a nutshell posters believing that Louis Tomlinson's baby was fake, the mother of the baby was never really pregnant and was just scamming, it was all a bluff to hide the fact that Louis Tomlinson and Harry Stiles were an item the evidence for the latter being they wore similar clothes/borrowed each others clothes, and other far more disgusting comments and theories. The threads were awful and the fact some of the comments were being written by women who possibly had sons the same age as Louis and Harry was very disturbing to say the least.

ScribblyGum · 27/04/2019 15:01

Some fool started a thread about not ever making roast potatoes when they had a roast dinner because they didn’t like them.

Unbelievable, an entirely justified flaming scenes occurred.

CassandraCross · 27/04/2019 15:01

Sistine Screamer is in Classics I think.

HeronLanyon · 27/04/2019 15:02

Boswell
Cheese wedding cake
Renter looking for property seeing Missing kitchen floor with ‘loads of dog poo’ one
The cafe in Clapham with kids play one.

IvanaPee · 27/04/2019 15:02

Thanks, Cassandra. Glad I missed that one Confused

Prequelle · 27/04/2019 15:03

I am absolutely gutted I missed the screamer one.

englishdictionary · 27/04/2019 15:03

Boswell 🤦🏻‍♀️

Thanks for the reminder - it took me ages to stop thinking about that weird shit

ooooohbetty · 27/04/2019 15:03

I remember a couple of threads by the same OP about her fantastically intelligent and gifted child. I had no idea if the child was a genius or not but some of the replies were very funny.

Sparklingbrook · 27/04/2019 15:03

YY Cassandra there were subtle signs apparently so there were lots of GIFs. Both baffling and worrying all at the same time.
Anyone saying they were loons were given a lot of grief. One of them started worrying about being identified and it affecting her job or something.

Luckily the threads were deleted and they found somewhere else to be barking share their theories.

I think the baby turned out to be real too. Shock

SilverySurfer · 27/04/2019 15:03

Not so much bonkers but really funny - I always have a good laugh when I read the Easter Bonnet thread in Classics and loved the one where the mother and children made fatballs (lard and birdseed) and put in the fridge to harden up before putting out for the birds. In their absence the idiot husband ate it and told them on their return that he thought it was an artisan scotch egg. He said it was a bit greasy Grin

Sparklingbrook · 27/04/2019 15:04

What about the Baileys Iceland Dessert one? That was good.

BuzzPeakWankBobbly · 27/04/2019 15:04

There is one right now about whether people take their own towels to hotels. It's pure essence of MN. And I just read another thread where someone said they buy multiple loo brushes at a time, use them once and bin them, because "needs must"!

Skettles Wasnt snapped and farted just a typo?
No - everyone was laughing thinking it must be, then OP came back all mardy and confirmed that WAS what she meant as she had IBS.

SihtricsHorseWitnere · 27/04/2019 15:05

Yeah, the water-skiing with preemie in NICU was a troll (also claimed to have 6 kids and be a multi-millionaire and a load of other shit like that, can't believe anyone believed it all).

The virtue signalling ones are pretty bonkers. The one from an OP who had inherited a house from her deceased grandmother which had sitting tenants in it and she wanted advice about giving notice but instead got reams of abuse about how unfair it was (a lot of it was one particular poster who was famous for me-railing and virtue signalling) and she should give the house to the tenants.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 27/04/2019 15:05

The woman who witnessed a mum in swimming pool changing rooms playing the pan pipes to calm the baby while at the same time doing a little dance..she maybhave been in a state of undress to boot.
I had to out it away cos DH kept saying what r u snorting for and it was just too complex to explain...

Ooh, I'd forgotten that one! I was snorting for ages over that one, and you've just made me do it all over again - so thank you Grin Grin Grin

FannyWork · 27/04/2019 15:05

“You are the carcass!!”

cashew19 · 27/04/2019 15:07

I seem to remember she came back to explain that she gets very windy when she gets angry!

IvanaPee · 27/04/2019 15:07

I am Canadian!

That was a good thread.

MsLayla · 27/04/2019 15:08

Very much enjoyed the toothpaste one yesterday.
