Just wondered what is the most bonkers mumsnet thread you've ever witnessed or came across?

One where the OP phoned both 101 and social services after being whipped up by replies to her thread.

She'd posted a WWYD along the lines of 'I walk past this house on my way to work, two times now I've seen a youngchild looking out of the window and looking sad'

I liked the one years ago by the woman who went waterskiing when her dc was in icu after being born premature. Also, the woman who had a moment of madness and took her swimming costume off by the side of a public swimming pool.

Was Sharon the one with the hamwich (hamwidge?) or was that a different one? The OP started her first thread saying she was supposed to meet her friend on here at 11 am or something, can't remember if she was called Sharon or Louise or Anna or whatever, she was going " are you there Sharon/Louise/Anna, is that you? Why are you all laughing at me? She said she would meet me here and bring a hamwidge" or along those lines.... it was totally batshit and really really funny.

Yes and the roasted badger and rice, if that was a troll it was absolute genius. The bonkers-yet-deadpan OPs are the best.

My fave was the Mum who'd been left in the back of the car. It was a huge estate with seats in the back and all the family & ILs got out the car and went into the house and left her on the small backwards facing seat and didn't wait for her.
So she started a thread from the boot of the car about how no one cared about her because they hadn't noticed she wasn't in the house and she was going to stay there until someone noticed.

I don’t know if the answering their own posts with a different name would be the same - but I find them ones hilarious!
On one the OP was getting a bit of a grilling and total name failed just to stick up for herself... shouldn’t laugh but I found it entertaining!

Yep, I'm glad the helium balloon thread is remembered. A poster just mildly asked, 'where can I get my helium balloon filled ?' (Party balloon)

It then led to page after page of how terrible helium gas was (for the environment) and a load a technical jargon about helium and the environment !

Poster went to Sistene chapel with her DH and was so overwhelmed by it’s loveliness that she started screaming and sobbing. I think she was asked to leave. Her DH said she was embarrassing. Op thought she was all sensitive and in touch with her emotions. Everyone else thought she was batshit attention seeker.
