After the deletion of various threads on here (you know what I'm talking about) Grin

Just wondered what is the most bonkers mumsnet thread you've ever witnessed or came across?

OP posts:
CassandraCross · 06/05/2019 12:58

You could well be right IvanaPee, all I remember is the over dramatic hyperbole shown by the poster over this supposed world ending tragedyGrin.

Witchofzog · 06/05/2019 14:26

@stickyblisteredanus I did Grin Willy Willy Willy was just so odd!

AlphaJura · 06/05/2019 16:52

I think that 'slithery' was a wind up. Because she goes on to say she considered 'Blood' as a name. I think it's taking the piss out of some of the out there names some people come up with. I remember reading one years ago where the op was considering 'Portley' as a name Hmm. That was probably a joke too thinking about it.

Hopeygoflightly · 06/05/2019 17:20

One if the first I ever read where the woman wanted to know how to bug her DH! He was being overly helpful and running errands all the time so she thought he must doing it to talk to the OW. I expected posters to say - oh, lovely you’ve got some trust issues or a communication problem with your DH but instead everyone piled in with advice about the best way to bug a car! That’s when I knew Mumsnet was a mad, mad wonderful place...

Cocobean30 · 06/05/2019 20:05

What was the one with the woman who had a seriously ill child in hospital and another at home, she was clearly full of it and kept making new threads updating on child’s condition? And she had to travel hours a day by train to the hospital or something?? Sorry can’t remember more! There was a Reddit thread about it

Cocobean30 · 06/05/2019 20:07

Oh and the one about ‘A’ making grown women vomit because they were bitching about her!

IvanaPee · 06/05/2019 20:11

That was ridiculous!

IvanaPee · 06/05/2019 20:11

The one where OP pretended to be dying and looking for ways to help her dd remember her was disturbing.

What sort of person does that??

Prequelle · 06/05/2019 20:13

coco that one was so pathetic

December2019 · 06/05/2019 21:00

Placemarking! I'm loving reading these 😂😂

StillCoughingandLaughing · 06/05/2019 21:22

Oh and the one about ‘A’ making grown women vomit because they were bitching about her!

I’d forgotten that one! Didn’t she say something like ‘I devastated them intellectually’? GrinGrin

CassandraCross · 06/05/2019 21:43

Cocobean30 that one was a troll, there was an 'Olivers' Army' of posters attached to it. Can only presume that people post those sorts of thread because they are desperate for attention. I do struggle to understand the motivation of posters who become like crazed groupies whipping themselves up into a frenzy on these threads, it becomes a nauseating competition to see who can care the most. I wonder if the posters responding are doing so for the attention as much as the original poster who started the thread, that and the feeling of being such a good caring person feeding into their ego.

I also remember the person making A sick, didn't the poster publicly call a group of them out over something? They didn't overhear something in a restaurant or was that another one?

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 06/05/2019 21:49

Is this the babychino one?

Willy Willy Willy:

I LOVE the first reply!

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 06/05/2019 21:56

This one is rather marvellous:

CassandraCross · 06/05/2019 22:03

No that's not the babychino one I was thinking of WeBuilt, the one I remember has been referenced in that thread though - it was at Costa and IvanaPee was correct it was to do with marshmallows! Looks like it was originally in Chat so will be lost to the mists of time.

IvanaPee · 06/05/2019 22:07

Yeah it was definitely in costa!

elephantoverthehill · 06/05/2019 22:07

Webuilt that Morrison's one is very bonkers. Thank you for finding it.

Southernc0mfortmirror · 06/05/2019 22:14

I think the OP of the Costa babychino thread was wound up about the marshmallow being a choking hazard, and wouldn’t accept the majority of posters saying it wasn’t an issue as she could have easily intercepted the marshmallow before her child ate it

StillCoughingandLaughing · 06/05/2019 22:34

I’m just reading the Willy one and my username has never been more accurate Grin

CassandraCross · 06/05/2019 22:37

That was truly bonkers Still, the addition of the Summer Nights video from Grease in order to clarify the actions was inspired.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 06/05/2019 23:13

Ah, that's a shame, CassandraCross - it sounded brilliant. That one I found was OK, but didn't seem as hilarious as people were suggesting Smile

BadLad · 06/05/2019 23:32

On a thread where a poster was aggrieved at being univited to a wedding at the Dorchester, one poster's advice was to "snitch on them to the Dorchester".

A thread about having difficulty passing the driving test was qnswered with "Can you get someone else to take the test for you? Or have they tightened up on that?"

The thread where fatandembarrassed took a stroll into business class has some mad posts on it. "I wouldn't hesitate to give up my business class seat to a pregnant woman who needed it" being one.

ooooohbetty · 07/05/2019 19:29

Never mind the most bonkers thread, this is the best thread ever. I hadn't seen most of these truly bonkers thread and have thoroughly enjoyed reading them. Willy, willy, willy is like something from a bbc3 sitcom.

danni0509 · 07/05/2019 19:40
