Just that really... the last two episodes have been so slow!

@BMW6 exactly! I was shouting at the telly 'toast them, toast them!' I don't understand why she didn't either?

I wouldn't say it's shit but it's definitely different. There has been a bunch of crowd-pleasing scenes which I don't think GRRM would have written. I have a feeling of dread that I'm going to hate the ending.

And- misses the point of the thread- I know it's in that tricky 'got scalped by a crazy nun and still growing back' stage, but how bloody awful is Cersei's hair?! I just can't get past it!

YouTheCat · 06/05/2019 22:51

I love that we're all set up now for the Hound to help Arya finish off her list.

CaptainCabinets · 07/05/2019 00:05

I’m also really enjoying Sansa’s character development this season!

I adore Brienne, felt so sad for her Sad. Gwendoline Christie is a fantastic actress.

ALSO I might’ve listened to Pod’s rendition of Jenny Of Oldstones about 600 times today. He’s another favourite character of mine Smile

I hope Dany dies soon because she’s getting on my fucking nerves! Blush

llangennith · 07/05/2019 00:14

When Rheargar (?) was killed why didn't Dany fly Drogon around the attacking fleet and burn them all up from behind or the side?

I thought that too.

Antigon · 07/05/2019 01:15

@LaurieMarlow

The fight for The Iron throne, which was always the main plot line.

Not if you read the fucking books it wasn’t. Facepalm.

Another superior little book bore. Yawn.

Antigon · 07/05/2019 01:16

When Rheargar (?) was killed why didn't Dany fly Drogon around the attacking fleet and burn them all up from behind or the side?

I think you could argue both dragons are injured and exhausted from the battle at Winterfell.

crispysausagerolls · 07/05/2019 06:25

I was shouting at the telly 'toast them, toast them!' I don't understand why she didn't either?

I think it’s plausible that danaeyrs was scared/tired/shocked and didn’t know what to do/didn’t want to risk her last remaining dragon!

lotusbell · 07/05/2019 06:38

@M0reGinPlease, yessssss!!! Thank goodness someone has said it!!! It would've grown back ages ago, why has she kept it so....horrible? And back to the point if the thread, I agree. Everything feels rushed, a lot of it is absurd and people pleasing - how did they not spot Euron at sea? Why have they turned Tormund into a comedy character? Plus, packing up Tormund, Sam and Gilly (and Ghost) so neatly? Nice to see Bran still annoying as ever.

Harrison376 · 07/05/2019 06:43

I saw an interview with David and Dan, they said that when the final episode screens they’re going away with their wives, drinking vodka and turning their phones off. You can’t please everyone all of the time but I’ve a feeling they’re braced for a bit of a backlash.

ememem84 · 07/05/2019 07:02

I’m hoping that the final episode isn’t as disappointing as the final episode of Lost was.

If I find out that the final episode ends and we see that it’s just a. Inch of kids playing a dungeons and dragons type board game I’m going to be so mad....

YouTheCat · 07/05/2019 07:28

So long as Dany rolls a 1, it's all fine with me. Grin

Decormad38 · 07/05/2019 07:32

Oh dear! It’s not Die Hard! Go and watch something else then. You would hate Better Call Saul!

lotusbell · 07/05/2019 07:38

I would now like to see Tyrion and Sansa rule. Live Tyrion, dont particularly like Sansa but I like her character arc, think she's become a potentially great leader. She is still being undermined by Jon, despite Arya's confidence and Tyrion's admiration. Her words to The Hound last night were not for nothing. Jon is frankly useless and Dany is going mad with power. I hope Euron has put 2 and 2 together and turns on Cersai who is such a brilliant character. I think Grey Worm will die trying to avenge Missandei's death and I'm still not sure about the whole Arya kills Jaime uses Jaime's face to Kill Cersai theory. Will Brienne follow her heart and go after Jaime?

crispysausagerolls · 07/05/2019 07:42

I agree actually - I really like Tyrion and Sansa. Their honesty with one another has been great to watch. Really sad for Tyrion desperately trying to convince himself he still supports Danaerys though.

I hope Jaime lives long enough to return to Brienne and explain he left to kill Cersei and all the reasons he prefers her (Brienne).

CalmDownPacino · 07/05/2019 08:23

Not a fan of episode 4. Hated what they did with Jaime and Brienne. One go on Jaimes magic cock and she's crying after him in the snow. That's not Brienne!

How did they not spot Euron's fleet?
Why did Dany leave the dragons so exposed?
Why didn't she burn them from behind after they killed Rhaegal? They couldn't have turned all those ships fast enough to shoot him down too.

It all feels really rushed and I don't think we are going to get answers to all the burning questions. The only bit I liked was Missandei saying dracarys.

Yes, I'm too invested Grin

crispysausagerolls · 07/05/2019 08:34

That's not Brienne!

I disagree! She has been in love with Jaime from season 2/3, and there has always a sensitive undercurrent and insecurity about her.

IratePanda · 07/05/2019 08:46

Is no one going to mention Jon not saying goodbye to Ghost? That broke my heart a bit.

CalmDownPacino · 07/05/2019 08:52

crispysausagerolls True, I just thought it was unfair almost. She's been this fearsome strong warrior woman all the way through 8 whole series' and BAM there she is mooning after a bloke in the snow. I felt let down for her.

I hated that he didn't say goodbye to Ghost either. The whole goodbye with Tormund, Sam, Gilly and Ghost felt a strange way to end it. Are we going to see them again? I can't see how they could be brought back so their 'ending' after all this time feels somewhat flat.

CalmDownPacino · 07/05/2019 08:52

Did everybody spot the Starbucks cup? Grin

crispysausagerolls · 07/05/2019 11:01

I hated that he didn't say goodbye to Ghost either.

Didn’t make any sense!!! At all!! Maybe trying to let go to his Stark side?! Didn’t get it

But re Brienne - that’s why I hope hope hope she gets her “happy ending”, as un-GOT as that is. I want Jaime to murder Cersei and come back to her.

OrangeFluff · 07/05/2019 16:01

I really enjoyed the episode, I alway think the character development and political plotting is the best thing about GOTs.

The scene with Tyrion and Varys was excellent. Sansa was very smart putting that into motion as she wants rid of Dani. Also showing Dani feeling increasingly isolated and losing all her trusted allies- I wonder if she'll eventually become the villain?

I thought Brienne was crying for Jaime, not herself. Because she knew that he is probably going to his death.

I wanted Jon to say goodbye to Ghost too! Just a pet on the head would've done!

Euron realising that Tyrion knew about the baby. He is no fool, he'll know the baby isn't his....

UnPocoLoco2 · 07/05/2019 16:02

I don't have a tv. what is GOT please?

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 07/05/2019 20:10

Er, Game of Thrones.

Jebuschristchocolatebar · 07/05/2019 20:34

Did you see parts of the final episode was leaked on line. I didn’t see it but people were saying it’s the shitest ending to a show ever. Hope it doesn’t disappoint after all this

Honeyroar · 07/05/2019 20:47

I'm loving it! (And yes I've read all the books, they got tedious and I don't think George will ever finish them).
