For things that are agreed as gospel on MN

I'll start: I like dressing my kids in matching outfits and I really enjoy a Butlins holiday

I also don't think Nevaeh is that bad

T doesn't belong in LGBT because the rest are sexual orientation and that isn't.

Moralitym1n1 · 23/04/2019 08:11

Paedophiles can be loving normal people who are horrified to be what they are.

Then they're also silent - because the ones who speak make it clear they think their inclination is 'right', are extremely predatory, and when caught will minimise, lie, justify, concentrate on the bad effects on their lives and nauseum with not a modicum of thought for the effect on their victims. They'll also always try the pop psychology, victim-y line that they were abused themselves and poor them orbits the reason they abused children.

It's not, and they probably weren't.

Moralitym1n1 · 23/04/2019 08:12
  • as nauseum

People do not just go off and have affairs, there is something missing in their relationship or their partner is not meeting their needs.

Moralitym1n1 · 23/04/2019 08:13

Also I for one wouldn't be trusting anyone not to act in their "inclinations" regardless of their apparent self awareness.

thiscannotbenormal · 23/04/2019 08:13

The term "single Mother" implies no co-parenting. I don't know why some women want to define their parenting by their marital status.

thiscannotbenormal · 23/04/2019 08:14

I hate the movies Dirty Dancing and Love Actually.

Moralitym1n1 · 23/04/2019 08:14

People do not just go off and have affairs, there is something missing in their relationship or their partner is not meeting their needs.

This is true for most women.
It is not true for most (or at least many) men. Women and men's sexuality is not the same.

Prequelle · 23/04/2019 08:17

People shouldn't be allowed to live in social housing forever. After a while they should move on to allow other people in need the opportunity they had.

Moralitym1n1 · 23/04/2019 08:18

Female comedians are not funny, including French and Saunders.

Many are not.

I think the odd one is e.g. Sarah Milligan, Kristen Bell

Moralitym1n1 · 23/04/2019 08:19

Sorry, Kristen Whig, not Bell.

AgnesNaismith · 23/04/2019 08:19

Hamilton is crap

Moralitym1n1 · 23/04/2019 08:19

Jeremy Corbyn would make a great Prime Minister.

zingally · 23/04/2019 08:23

The prints on Joules clothes look better suited to infant-sized onesies. Any adult should be going NOWHERE near those striped, flowered monstrosities.

You're fat because you eat too much and never do any exercise. Yes, you are unhealthy. Yes, you'll probably die younger than you should have done. No, you don't look good.

JuniorAsparagus · 23/04/2019 08:23

Everyone is racist to some extent. (That doesn't make it right.)

zingally · 23/04/2019 08:25

Prequelle, YES.

There should be a time limit on social housing occupation. I'll be generous... 20 years.

More than long enough to get yourself on track, raise the kids, get a job, and let someone else have the opportunity you did.

Moralitym1n1 · 23/04/2019 08:25

I don't like school uniforms, and really hate how anal many schools in the UK becoming about them. Most of the rest of the world manages to educate their children perfectly well without them. We are slowly eroding our children of their indeviduality by forcing them all to look the same as each other

I thought one of the ideas behind them was so that there was no 'evidence' of different economic/social status among kids- no competition/status ladder with 'designer' labels etc. And I very much agree with that. Clothing esp for teenagers often is a status show or conformity show with less advantaged kids putting pressure for labels on their parents who can't afford them, and feeling inferior that they're not wearing them. How much individuality do they have as kids/teenagers anyway? Teenagers end up looking like clones with their mates if they pick their clothing. Many kids are oblivious.

Ghanagirl · 23/04/2019 08:29

@DrinkSangriaInThePark
When I talk to my adult friends most regret having first sexual experience whilst still at school.

Yabbers · 23/04/2019 08:29

One does not need to RTFT if they think their opinion is so important it trumps all of that.

Agreed. But one should at the very least read the title instead of ignoring it and just posting judgements and opinions that are actually widely held as mumsnet general views.

AlaskanOilBaron · 23/04/2019 08:31

Joules prints look terrible even on the models (although they make great Breton stripe tops).

The notion of it being some kind of short-cut to the middle classes is perverse, as is the aspiration to be a dull middle-class person in the first instance.

I'd rather be anything but middle-class.

Jeremy Corbyn would make a great Prime Minister.

I need to go and lie down for a bit now Shock

Yabbers · 23/04/2019 08:31

@Zingally

If I were PM, that would be my policy. 5 year tenancies, means tested against the same criteria as entry, maximum of 3 tenancies and you are out.

Prequelle · 23/04/2019 08:31

Women were NOT made to birth the type of babies we do. Their heads are much bigger than what we are made for in part because they have to stay in the womb for so long and in part because we evolved to walk bipedal which narrowed our pelvis.

So anyone who waxes on about natural births and how we are 'made to do it' bug me because after seeing many births I can say they're brutal affairs and if men went through it, c sections would be the done thing now.

Propertywoes · 23/04/2019 08:37

All Boden clothes are ugly.

Spending £1,000 on handbag is absurd.

Propertywoes · 23/04/2019 08:38

Caesareans should be offered as standard to all pregnant women. It is just as valid a birth choice as any other.
