For things that are agreed as gospel on MN

I'll start: I like dressing my kids in matching outfits and I really enjoy a Butlins holiday

I also don't think Nevaeh is that bad

I like Meghan Markle. I like Prince Harry. But not together. He seems to have lost his joie de vivre and she has attracted a tonne of hangers on.

I have encountered many naughty children. None have additional needs. I have encountered a (very) few nasty children. They all grew up to be nasty adults.

You do not have a food allergy. Tomatoes disagree with you. In fact they shoot through most people so you are not special.

If a dh goes out for a beer once in a while you do not need to LTB or match it with a spa weekend.

I would encourage my daughter to try to marry a wealthy man so that she can have choices.

Figmentofmyimagination · 23/04/2019 08:42

It’s better never to start wearing ‘foundation’.

Prequelle · 23/04/2019 08:44

We keep people with zero quality of life alive for far too long.

We aren't sustaining life we are prolonging death.

TixieLix · 23/04/2019 08:44

Women who pump fillers into their lips look bloody ridiculous

Today's younger generation will look back on their pouting selfies and thing "what possessed me.." and we as their parents will say "told you so"

Posters who title their thread just 'AIBU' with no other description are definitely being unreasonable

Eating on buses should not be allowed. Likewise train journeys of less than 1 hour (this includes chewing gum).

Boden IS shit.....so is Hush.

Eating meat/dairy doesn't make you the spawn of satan

It is perfectly possibly to have a balanced, reasoned discussion without resorting to petty name calling

TatianaLarina · 23/04/2019 08:48

Why not encourage her to make her own money? Then she’d really have choices. Unless she’s thick?

Money that someone else earns is never really yours and can lead to power imbalances in relationships.

tappitytaptap · 23/04/2019 08:50

Wearing make up to work is normal and does not mean you are trying too hard, just that you like to look nice.

helacells · 23/04/2019 08:51

Idris Elba is not attractive
Most men aren't worth the hassle
Most women will put up with crap to avoid being single
People who don't wash or season chicken and meat are gross

tappitytaptap · 23/04/2019 08:51

Leaving your 2 year old overnight or for a short break is ok. Would leave almost 7 month old for a night if I could...glances at the adorable bottle refuser...

AlaskanOilBaron · 23/04/2019 08:51

I like your take on it. I think these two are a PR disaster to the point that it's a risk to the monarchy, she seems to shine a light on the royal family in a way that the Queen has managed to avoid pretty assiduously.

In fact, i think she's the best chance republicans have of overthrowing the entire institution in the next couple of generations.

ssd · 23/04/2019 08:52

People with one year old who think they are parenting experts

People who automatically assume you have had an inheritance because your parents are dead
People who say council houses aren't for life but have never lived in one
Couples with separate finances WTF

thiscannotbenormal · 23/04/2019 08:53

@TatianaLarina Oh yes, I would encourage her to have both, like me
BUT with a wealthy man so she has choices (unlike me who has to be the bread winner)

JacquesHammer · 23/04/2019 08:53

Feminism doesn’t necessarily equal man-hating, that’s a lazy assumption.

thiscannotbenormal · 23/04/2019 08:54

All tattoos are vile.

ssd · 23/04/2019 08:54

People who think fawning over the royal family makes them superior

thiscannotbenormal · 23/04/2019 08:54

*unlike me

thiscannotbenormal · 23/04/2019 08:56

Obsession with cleaning is a lower class thing.

*runs

Prequelle · 23/04/2019 08:56

jacques I had an argument about that the other day. Apparently we are hypocrites because we are supposed to be fighting for equality for all. I was like erm no, feminism is about equality for women. It doesn't mean I don't fight for men's rights in other areas but it doesn't need to come under the feminism umbrella and it really just is another example of women not being allowed anything that purely suits their own needs and wishes.

It reminds me of the white people who kick off at minorities having their own causes

AlaskanOilBaron · 23/04/2019 08:57

People who think fawning over the royal family makes them superior

I didn't know such people existed, certainly on balance republicans consider themselves superior to royalists (they do seem to have logic on their side). The royal family is more an article of faith, sort of like religion.

TixieLix · 23/04/2019 08:57

People who automatically assume you have had an inheritance because your parents are dead

Likewise, people who automatically assume they'll get an inheritance when their parents are still alive

The80sweregreat · 23/04/2019 08:58

Prequelle, I agree with you .

MardAsSnails · 23/04/2019 09:00

I don’t actually give that much of a fuck what anyone else does. I can’t be bothered getting stressed/upset/even mildly bothered by things other people do.

KissingInTheRain · 23/04/2019 09:01

Parents should not feel free to give a child an absurd and humiliating name, as if they were naming a show dog.

TatianaLarina · 23/04/2019 09:02

with a wealthy man so she has choices (unlike me who has to be the bread winner)

As 40% of marriages end in divorce, one can never be assured of not having to be the breadwinner.
