For things that are agreed as gospel on MN

I'll start: I like dressing my kids in matching outfits and I really enjoy a Butlins holiday

I also don't think Nevaeh is that bad

I don't think RP is the only way to 'speak properly' and I don't think saying 'haitch' is wrong. (I speak RP and don't say 'haitch'). I also don't think estuary English is the linguistic crime some people on here regard it as.

Sparklingbrook · 22/04/2019 19:16

I love having a TV in my bedroom.

I like watching Jeremy Clarkson on the TV, and also Boy George.

AlwaysFuckingTired94 · 22/04/2019 19:16

Most women do hope for a girl when pregnant

OP posts:
AndItStillSaidFourOfTwo · 22/04/2019 19:16

Another linguistic one: I don't mind business speak and I'm getting tired of that joke about not saying 'reach out' unless you are a member of the Four Tops.

Sparklingbrook · 22/04/2019 19:18

I have to disagree with the hoping for a girl thing. I wanted boys.

HateIsNotGood · 22/04/2019 19:18

Hunting shouldn't have been banned.

PookieDo · 22/04/2019 19:18

Going on a package holiday is hugely over rated and not very relaxing with DC who would probably rather have other things (unless it’s a holiday of a lifetime aimed at kids like Disney land) it is 2 weeks of sitting in the same resort doing the same things over and over for £2k + and having to buy all new clothes you probably won’t wear again

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 22/04/2019 19:19

I disagree with wanting a girl as well, I didn’t.

fikel · 22/04/2019 19:19

Work on relationships if you can, without the chant of “dump him, dump him” from MN users

CherryPavlova · 22/04/2019 19:20

So many.....
Sleep training is good for all concerned.

Children, including those with special needs, can be just plain naughty.

You don’t need to see a doctor very often. You need to go to an emergency department even less (except when you have tropical fly larvae in your leg).

Truly accidental pregnancy is rare. People should think more carefully before deciding to sleep with someone and reproduce.

Perpetual happiness is an unrealistic expectation and children need to learn to deal with a full range of emotions and experiences.

HaroldsSocalledBluetits · 22/04/2019 19:21

Most people don't "outsource" cleaning, ironing, gardening etc and just because there's two of you working doesn't mean you can afford to do it.

If you spend £5000 on holidays every year it's not because you "prioritise" holidays but because you've got £5000 to spend on them.

It's eminently possible to live on less than £100k.

The vast majority of council estates are not "sink" estates.

Poor people don't love their children less and don't care about their education less.

By definition, not every mnetter's child can possibly be "top of the class" (whatever that means).

Requiring parents to purchase specific items of clothing in order for their child to go to school is not a "leveller".

AndItStillSaidFourOfTwo · 22/04/2019 19:23

Buying a house is not a major achievement that makes you into a morally superior person.

The onus should not be on me to put up with your dog/your smoking, but on you to make sure your dog/your smoking doesn't bother me.

NotMyPuppy · 22/04/2019 19:23

Tom Hardy mings

HoldMyGirl · 22/04/2019 19:24

I quite like the name Jaxon.
I love white skinny jeans.
Grey hair can be ageing.
I fed baby rice to my babies.
I dressed my baby girls in pink and my boy in blue

Some of those aren't opinions

PumpkinPie2016 · 22/04/2019 19:24

A roast chicken will not feed a family for a week Grin

PookieDo · 22/04/2019 19:24

Cleaning was my other one...
Being messy is nothing to be proud of it causes disorganisation arguments and chaos. People who are tidy and organised are not smug they are just practical

AlwaysFuckingTired94 · 22/04/2019 19:24

I don't think the word chav is offensive

Smoothyloopy · 22/04/2019 19:25

I like plug in air fresheners & fabric conditioners.

Sparklingbrook · 22/04/2019 19:25

Paying someone to clean your oven is money well spent.

iklboo · 22/04/2019 19:26

There's nothing wrong with only children and they're not all spoilt attention seeking brats who don't know how to share.

AndItStillSaidFourOfTwo · 22/04/2019 19:26

On the theme of achievements, being slim is not a woman's major achievement and being called fat is not the worst insult possible for which even tiny children have to be rigorously punished (seen on threads on here).

Nuttyaboutnutella · 22/04/2019 19:26

Avocado is devils snot.

"Smashed avocado" sounds completely unappealing.

Also, seems popular on here to whip up bacon and eggs everyday, despite leaving for work at 6am with 5 kids in tow. Most people I know just throw down some cereal or toast.

PookieDo · 22/04/2019 19:27

@Smoothyloopy

Oh my god me too
Yankee candle black coconut plug in and blue lenor. And yes I spray it on my sofas

flyinghigh1 · 22/04/2019 19:28

Pineapple is amazing on pizza😍
