For things that are agreed as gospel on MN

I'll start: I like dressing my kids in matching outfits and I really enjoy a Butlins holiday

I also don't think Nevaeh is that bad

OP posts:
Jamhandprints · 23/04/2019 01:55

My kids eat sugar.

ncagain222 · 23/04/2019 03:10

Being a SAHM would be wonderful and a far preferable and less stressful option than to having to work. Sadly I fall into the latter category.

ncagain222 · 23/04/2019 03:10

I think that there are some things in this world where men really are able to better than women ever could. There are some amazing, brilliant inspiring and genuinely great men out there and I’m not afraid to admit I look up to them for what they are able to do.

I think there are some badly behaved kids who are simply just little arseholes. I don’t think they having a diagnosis with a behaviour problem should make me think otherwise because in many cases it’s used as an excuse and the kids (and their parents) often know how to turn it to their advantage.

Monkeys aren’t cute, they are creepy as fuck.

ricepuddingme · 23/04/2019 03:33

I think the snobby opinion on baby naming is awful on here... to call a babies name disgusting or tacky is disgusting and tacky to me!

mouldyhousemouldylife · 23/04/2019 03:45

I judge anyone who uses a Snapchat filter on selfies they post outside of the app. It's cringey. You're not a dog and Snapchat's novelty surely wore off years ago, now it just looks stupid.

I use the app frequently however I'm sick of seeing filtered to death photos everywhere outside of it. You don't look like that.

Half of Facebook has a stupid filter on their pics so I'm assuming how I feel is unpopular.

mouldyhousemouldylife · 23/04/2019 03:46

It pisses me off the most when it's on Tinder. How can I know if I like the look of someone if they have a beauty filter on?

Ribrabrob · 23/04/2019 03:46

Parents spend too much time obsessing whether their house is clean/tidy rather than actually bothering with and enjoying their children.

Home/free schooling (private school at a push) should be the only form of education for children. How can one teacher in a state comprehensive adequately teach 30 kids, all with different needs, learning styles and interests?

It's become too trendy and fashionable to hate being a parent and moan about how 'hard' it apparently is.

Nobody should eat animals and those who question vegans should question themselves as they tuck into a dead animal on their plate.

Manchester is a horrible city. And northern accents (all of them) aren't very nice.

I like Meghan Markle and don't understand the hate. I also feel sorry for Teresa May.

Ribrabrob · 23/04/2019 03:48

I like Jordan Peterson and agree with everything he says. I don't feel this makes me mysogonistic.

Kel801 · 23/04/2019 04:09

Not all men are abusive - mn opinion seems to be dump him he’s an abuser

Thelovecats85 · 23/04/2019 04:18

Kids are more badly behaved now because they are being raised in nurseries and then over indulged by their guilt ridden parents.

Not the parents fault - governments fault for allowing wages to fall so far below the cost of living.

You're not evil or entitled by wanting to use patent and child spaces when you have young children. They are not there for people with hidden disabilities, they are there for parents with young children. If your disablity is that bad get a blue badge. Also 90% of the people using parent and child spaces without a child arn't disabled, they're just nobs.

FoxFoxSierra · 23/04/2019 04:33

Some people trot off to the gp at the slightest sniffle

Gender is a completely made up thing, it's a load of stereotypes that society has decided is what defines being male or female and people who don't identify with those stereotypes are now calling themselves non binary where in the past they would have been a tomboy or effeminate man

We will not be leaving the EU, the government knows it but they don't know how to tell us without causing riots

Zbag · 23/04/2019 04:41

Breast is best, fed is just the bare minimum.
Mummy does not know best
CIO techniques are awful, you shouldn't have children if you're not prepared to be there day and night.
Weed should be legal
Drinking and smoking should be illegal until age 21.
The death penalty should be used for more serious crimes, rehabilitation is not possible for everyone and those who have commited crimes against children should be executed.

Just because they make crop tops and mini dresses in large sizes doesn't mean they look good on larger people.

OhTheRoses · 23/04/2019 05:10

Why have children been replaced with kids and even worse grandkids.

brizzlemint · 23/04/2019 05:18

Because, like baby goats, they eat things they shouldn't and get up to mischief?

(I don't like them being called kids either)

FunkyKingston · 23/04/2019 05:21

Getting a first class degree is easy due to enforced grade inflation these days.

I don't think that's contentious at all it is an open secret. Where i work, less than 10% of students get a grade lower than a 2:1. We are strong armed into giving barely competent work a 2:1 and mediocre work a first by teaching directors.

pineapplebryanbrown · 23/04/2019 05:36

It's not OK to go NC with your parents unless they were actually sadistic.

You can go NC with siblings all day long.

You can't turf a kid out the second they turn 18, there's a housing crisis.

maddiemookins16mum · 23/04/2019 05:40

Not toilet training until nearly 4 (if MN is anything to go by) is just ridiculous.
Co sleeping, basically parents who cannae be arsed to put their kids to sleep in their own beds and will trot out the usual ‘a third of the world has no choice but to sleep together’ etc. That might be right, but your child has a perfectly nice Peppa Pig bedroom down the hall.
SAHM’s with cleaners!! Get a flippin grip love.

pineapplebryanbrown · 23/04/2019 05:41

I think gender and sex are the same words.

Female comedians are not funny, including French and Saunders.

You will not get cancer from passing a smoker in the street.

Cars are great, cyclists cause traffic jams and are very inconsiderate and aggressive.

pineapplebryanbrown · 23/04/2019 05:42

Brexit isn't real, there's no need to worry.

JuniorAsparagus · 23/04/2019 05:48

Theresa May is doing her best. She has an impossible job.
No we are definitely not 'all on the spectrum'.
All children need discipline and boundaries, including those with additional needs. Having Autism/ADHD etc does not mean parents can excuse bad behaviour.
Bringing up a child with Autism is very hard work.
Not all I independent schools represent good value for money.
Success shouldn't be measured in terms of degrees, Russell Group Universities etc. I am happy that all my children (including the autistic one) have chosen jobs which benefit others.
Blasphemy is offensive.

Thepacksurvives · 23/04/2019 06:16

Being a sahm should be an affordable option for all

Full time working for both parents is not okay when you have preschool children

Formula is shite and not good enough to go in my kids

amandacarnet · 23/04/2019 06:33

It is never a child's fault if the dog bites/scares them

It is not okay for kids treat dogs as if they are toys. So run up to a dog and start to climb all over them. Had to recognise my old dog more than once from kids treating him as if he was a toy rather than a living breathing thing who could feel pain.

I got nipped badly by a horse when I was eight. My mum told me it was my own fault because of what I was doing. She was right.

amandacarnet · 23/04/2019 06:36

Having an overly stressed, sleep deprived mother is not better for the baby than sleep training or giving a bottle. Somehow some people get into rigid ideas that only one thing is best for babies, and totally ignore that it is a relationship. And getting some sleep and feeling better will help that relationship.

x2boys · 23/04/2019 07:03

People are getting offensive nowHmm
