For things that are agreed as gospel on MN

I'll start: I like dressing my kids in matching outfits and I really enjoy a Butlins holiday

I also don't think Nevaeh is that bad

OP posts:
TildaTurnip · 22/04/2019 22:40

Of course animals are sentient beings!

DramaQueen101 · 22/04/2019 22:41

Sleep training is ok.

My DC slept in their own room from 5 weeks. Would have been earlier if my CS wound didn't hurt so much!

I can post pictures of my DC on my private SM if I want to all day long. It's my choice. Unfriend me if you wish.

Being a mum is hard. Sometimes it's great.

Sending your child to a childcare setting and stating, "nursery will sort (weaning / toilet training... etc.)" is not ok.

I think that too much emphasis is placed on women (by ourselves) to do it all.

I don't get the Game of Thrones phenomenon.

SexOnTheBitch · 22/04/2019 22:41

Breastfeeding a 2yo is daft

Giving a toddler a tablet or smartphone to play with is lazy parenting

The desire to have no one visit you and your new baby for weeks (especially your DH/DPs parents) is selfish

I get fed up reading "current guidance is...." as though it's the holy grail. Today's "current guidance" is tomorrow's "old way/wrong way"

Expecting friends/family to shell out £££ to celebrate your week long destination hen/stag is wrong (especially if you expect all the guests to cover your share of the expenses)

I judge people who can't correctly use your/you're and there/their/they're etc (and yes I know some people are dyslexic but lots are just lazy)

Obese women in tight leggings look gross

Baby showers and gender reveals are grabby and memememe

Keyboard warriors who give it all the "well I would have just said/done.." are mostly full of crap

Overmaars · 22/04/2019 22:41

Lovelyjubbly are you Annunziata?

TildaTurnip · 22/04/2019 22:41

This thread feels like an excuse to spout hatred

It seems some posters have taken it to mean so, I agree.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 22/04/2019 22:43

I wouldn’t fall out with a friend because she’s the OW,I’d not lose a friend over it
I wouldn’t necessarily tell a friend if I knew about their partner having an affair

TerryWogansWilly · 22/04/2019 22:43

Condoms don't split

That's not an opinion. It's an incorrect statement of fact. I know they do because I have had it happen. They can also get stuck in you and come off your partner. It's not fun. Everyone is sad. Then you have to go get the morning after pill.

UnderCaffeinated · 22/04/2019 22:44

Everyone is capable of learning to cook.

You can do a full weeks shopping in Aldi, you just don't want too (and that's fine, but don't pretend it's not possible!)

One chocolate egg is sufficient at Easter.

There are only two genders, just because you don't fit a gender stereotype doesn't mean that isn't your gender.

Children of separated parents can feel equally at home in two houses.

Having a pet is great.

YeOldeTrout · 22/04/2019 22:44

I tend to prefer honesty over PCness. Even ugly honesty.

Mammylamb · 22/04/2019 22:44

I’m pro-life.

But at the same time, I wouldn’t outlaw abortion. The alternative is back street abortions which could also kill the mother

YeOldeTrout · 22/04/2019 22:47

Adrian Mole stories are God Awful Navel Gazing narcissistic tripe.

Hadenoughofitall441 · 22/04/2019 22:47

If you have a partner that cheats, it’s not just other persons fault, if anything your partner should take the brunt of it... thier the ones that cheated ..

DeftandGlory · 22/04/2019 22:48

YABU - it seems an unpopular opinion on MN thread is too tricky.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 22/04/2019 22:49

No,dogs aren’t sentient.
they have a wide range of emotions & responses. These aren’t indicative of,or proof of being sentient
By training, breeding and habits dogs enact behaviour humans want, and like

Roussette · 22/04/2019 22:49

Rees-Mogg is a great role model as a father and husband
Shock Shock Shock
This is probably the most shocking thing I've read on here and I've been taken aback with some things. He is poisonous. This is the man who wants abortion banned even in the case of rape and incest.

Pregnant women were designed by nature to give birth and, while giving birth has always presented risks for mother and baby, most women can give birth naturally and without pain relief given the right preparation and an excellent midwife. Babies born naturally have better health protection than babies born instrumentally or by Caesarian.

Breastfeeding is really easy - much easier than formula feeding. And the health benefits for mother and baby are incomparable.

Supermarkets and packaged foods are an abomination.

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 22/04/2019 22:51

My main issue here is the trans threads

I really really hate them . Hate how angry and hate filled they are, and how Aggressive the tone gets

I have seen some stuff written that made me shudder

I’ll shut up now but it’s the one thing I really dislike about this site

It’s so extreme

And I also agree that teens are being treated far too quickly too , and it’s gone too fast where maybe some tolerance and patience would help

It’s impossible to have a middle line view on the issue

TerryWogansWilly · 22/04/2019 22:52

I don't feel slightly guilty about my abortion.

I think it was brilliant that I live in a country where I had safe access to one.

I know I'd have killed myself if I had to stay pregnant and would have left dc motherless.

I think people who think would ban it are cunts.

takemeouttonight · 22/04/2019 22:53

A planned c-section should be an available option for every pregnant woman

Cherylshaw · 22/04/2019 22:53

Men are not to blame for women's problems
I don't think you should force your child to share
Abortion should not be used as contraception
We are not living in a patriarchy

TerryWogansWilly · 22/04/2019 22:54

stopfuckingshoutingatme they can be much. I think it's important to remember though a lot of the anger is based on whats happening outside of mumsnet though. So it appears onesided.

OhTheRoses · 22/04/2019 22:55

My 7 years as a SAHM were wonderful and very easy compared to work, even working before children. The house was always tidy (by 7pm), everything was done and ship shape. Long days in the park were great, Tumbletots was great, playgroup was great, leafkicking, playing and teaching them to learn. Bloody brilliant.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 22/04/2019 22:55

Birth is risky, nature doesn’t get it right.its hippy rubbish that a woman just knows
Hospital intervention & cs has reduced maternal deaths hugely

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 22/04/2019 22:59

Other women/mistresses don’t steal men,they go willingly.they want to.
As unpalatable as it is he made a choice,he wasn’t tricked, forced,or coerced
