For things that are agreed as gospel on MN

I'll start: I like dressing my kids in matching outfits and I really enjoy a Butlins holiday

I also don't think Nevaeh is that bad

This - I think my 18 year old is a teenager, not a fully grown adult who should have moved out, Live his life, without any help, opinion or input from me.

Keeping your baby in the same room as you for ALL sleeps for 6 months is completely unrealistic and impractical - no one I have ever met has done this

I did, except for once when I left him sleeping and went to do some housework, he woke up, got his leg trapped in the bars of the crib and screamed the place down. Never left him unattended again.

JanMeyer I think that was the point the poster was making- lots of people aren’t medically diagnosed. It’s the causal throwing out ASD in the same way ADD/AHD was 19 years ago.

Herland · 22/04/2019 22:23

Your dog is not a child. It is literally not your baby.

Bacardi101 · 22/04/2019 22:24

A single cooked chicken does not do a whole week full of meals!

I have no issues with butlins, we go every year...
couples not sharing finances is not a big deal... thier choice...
People not wanting to get Married just for security.
Not everyone likes the school run....

High immigration, especially from poor countries, is bad for Britain.

Oh I know exactly what their point was. But I tend to ignore people who say shit like that, because they also tend to be the type of person who reduces autism to "being shy, quiet and not liking hugs." In other words the type of person who knows fuck all about autism, and has no business making sweeping statements like "most people who say they have it don't."

If only being autistic meant being quiet, shy and not liking hugs 😂

Agreed, if only Angry

Tattoos look grim on most people, but they look particularly awful on attractive young women.

I don’t have a problem with strip clubs, as long as the dancers are make a free choice to work there. It’s just a job.

Obesity is a choice.

DramaQueen101 · 22/04/2019 22:32

@Kungfupanda67 yes! Finally another 'food before 1 is not for fun' the saying irks me!

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 22/04/2019 22:32

abortion is a fundamental right and for some women can be the best outcome

Ragwort · 22/04/2019 22:32

Nobody cares about your wedding day, people who say ‘everyone said it was the best day ever’ - your friends are just being polite, no one is going to say ‘actually I didnt really enjoy it much’.

The vast majority of weddings are boring, tedious, unoriginal and a huge waste of money.

I love my dog to pieces but I don’t feel the need to take her everywhere. You can have a successful shopping trip without your dog.

Hadenoughofitall441 · 22/04/2019 22:35

You don’t have to get married, it’s just a piece of paper and a waste of money, normal couples can do everything a c married couple can do...

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 22/04/2019 22:36

Don’t fetishise your dog. it’s a pet,and not a sentient being.it doesn’t fully understand
And if a dog bites or causes harm it must immediately put it down

Overmaars · 22/04/2019 22:37

It's not ok to lie about using contraception to get a baby. It's your responsibility and the man shouldn't expect to use a condom even when a woman has stated she's on the pill unless either of them wants this. This doesn't mean it's always the woman's responsibility, just that she shouldn't lie about it.

It's not okay to have more children than you can afford or devote time and energy too.

Not all arseholes are depressed, have anxiety or dementia. Some people are just arseholes.

Depression is not a free pass to be an arsehole.

Women with sons want to still see them and be involved with their families. Obstructing this because you prefer your own family is really unkind.

Herland · 22/04/2019 22:38

@hadenough

So married couples are abnormal🤣🤣

Klopptimist · 22/04/2019 22:38

Abortion at any stage for any reason. Abortions for all!

MrsKoala · 22/04/2019 22:39

I don't care if people use my drive to turn on. I like children walking along my garden wall. I'll do someone a favour if I can, even if it means going out of my way. I don't need to shower daily or wear deodorant. Paid work is often overrated and nothing to aspire to. The protestant work ethic is there to subdue the masses and make the rich richer. I'm pro the death penalty in certain cases. I don't see a problem with private LLs. I don't care if dh has female friends who text him and they go to dinner together. I think MN is often hostile and mean spirited.
