I've just watched Tenable and the thing I thought it was called didn't make the top ten of names.

I'm honestly, genuinely shocked. I thought it was really common and would be the most obvious answer.

When I was growing up we always called it "the thing", even now when I visit my parents I call it "the thing", but now, at home with my own family we call it the buttons.

CherryPavlova · 18/04/2019 22:39

A Husband?

WhoKnewBeefStew · 18/04/2019 22:40

Pass me ‘the buttons’

myhamsteratefreddiestarr · 18/04/2019 22:40

Doodah or remote

SarfE4sticated · 18/04/2019 22:41

the 'hand set'. no idea where it came from, sounds like something my granddad may have come up with.

misskatamari · 18/04/2019 22:41

We call it the remote but growing up it was the tweeker. No idea where it came from

OrchidInTheSun · 18/04/2019 22:44

We call it the donger. I don't know why and it seems we're alone

DustyMaiden · 18/04/2019 22:46

Remote, DH call it buttons

SarfE4sticated · 18/04/2019 22:47

Just seen that there are three of us using this! Yeay! Thought it was just me! thanks @Dahlietta @amongstthetallgrass

Wonder where it came from...

MaryBoBary · 18/04/2019 22:57

When I left for uni I called it a zapper. That was just what we’d always called it at home. But I quickly changed to “remote” after having the piss taken. Now remote is second nature.

MaryBoBary · 18/04/2019 22:58

OHs family call it the buttons.

wizzler · 18/04/2019 23:03

The picker or the I'm in charge

helpconfused · 18/04/2019 23:05

Mote in our house

WillowUfgood · 18/04/2019 23:05

Remote at mine, Clicker at my parent's house.

smallereveryday · 18/04/2019 23:06

Kung TV (direct translation from Thai as ex DH Thai) TV thing

lisasimpsonssaxophone · 18/04/2019 23:07

I am so happy that other people call it a ‘didge’ too!

My partner and I recently started calling it ‘the patriarchy’ but that’s a weird in-joke that makes no sense.

bitingcat · 18/04/2019 23:08

The troll!

NannyRed · 18/04/2019 23:15

It’s the zapper in our house.

HippyChickMama · 18/04/2019 23:16

The clicker or the fat (as in fat controller)

Normaknowall · 18/04/2019 23:29

DH. Because he's always got the remote.

Frangipane · 18/04/2019 23:32

Blipper.

MazDazzle · 18/04/2019 23:32

The remote.

As a kid we called it the boogie box.

polarisation · 18/04/2019 23:39

DH's (Brummie) family call it the bodger so that's what's stuck for us... Feeling very unique now!

FrozenMargarita17 · 18/04/2019 23:42

Buttons. Outing but my dh's family call it a magloobah. Don't ask me why - I refuse to say it
