I don't live there. But I sort of wish I knew whoever does...

My parents have a massive Mary statue in their guest room. Honestly. She does get covered with a blanket when guests stay but frankly that is even creepier.

Bignosenobum · 18/04/2019 21:39

I hope the owner is not offended. This post is just rude. Love to see your house.

Wow...

Entschuldigung · 18/04/2019 21:55

I doubt the owner would be offended. This is a great post. Have really enjoyed looking at that house. It's not to my taste but it's brilliant that someone has gone to so much effort to make it how they like it.

Not sure that was being bitchy. Confused

Jezebel101 · 18/04/2019 22:59

I might just love that house.

The decor is not that unusual in certain parts of Southern Europe, and the ott-ness combined with the statue of the VM brings to mind a house I saw in one of those Gypsy Wedding shows. I'd say the owner belongs to a different culture, but not radically different.

happymum12345 · 18/04/2019 23:07

It’s an amazingly good value!

Milly345 · 18/04/2019 23:11

Someone is living in that house now, 😱😭😳

Skittlesandbeer · 18/04/2019 23:22

I like to think the dude seen in the bathroom mirror reflection is actually the owner and Chief Decorator, rather than the agent.

That all this splendid rococo horror could come from the imagination of a middle aged, grey slack-wearing accountant-by-day. That he kicks off his scuffed black work shoes at the door each evening and slips on his maribou mules and a silk kimono with peacocks on.

manicmij · 18/04/2019 23:41

For the outside yes.

jinglet · 19/04/2019 00:05

@Doubletrouble99- I was thinking Italian too 🙈

SuspiciouslyMinded · 19/04/2019 00:16

I like it in a weird way - I wouldn’t want to live in it as it is, but I’d buy it if I wanted to live in Birmingham. The garden is glorious, and I actually like some of the decor - the room in picture 3 is rather nice in its totally over the top rococo glory. Some walls and fitted cupboards are fine too. Most of the trinkets including the tiger and the BVM would hopefully go with the owners anyway.

But tone it down while keeping some rococo features and you have a lovely unique house.

HollaHolla · 19/04/2019 00:23

It reminds me of the place on one episode of Come Dine with Me. The woman was obsessed with Versailles - although she’d never been to France. She had a lot of ‘work’ done too - face boobs, filler, Botox, etc.

crunchycornflake · 19/04/2019 00:41

Although a minimalist, love this house, amazing to look at. However, a bit too much for me to live in. What really ticks my boxes is the garden.

TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 19/04/2019 01:13

Nice to see the Virgin Mary keeping watch over the marital bed.Shock

I would take the garden though, that's lovely.

Thestral · 19/04/2019 08:00

@Bignosenobum if you are going to call me names, can you at least spell mine correctly please?

Palaver1 · 19/04/2019 09:52

Love the massive mirror
In a funny sort of way I quite like it .
Its really nice that whoever owns the house has put their unique style on it.
Very loved house .
I wonder why their leaving

Foundring · 19/04/2019 09:56

I love a good rightmove thread. I always wonder what the estate agents think when they come in and see a house has had 100000 views overnight

Foundring · 19/04/2019 09:58

I always think the “divorce” houses look so sad and depressing though. You can spot them a mile off

Foundring · 19/04/2019 09:59

I saw one the other day. Back door smashed up and boarded up. Child’s bedroom abandoned and everything removed. Makes me feel sad!

HouseHelp2019 · 19/04/2019 10:08

I actually love it! If I lived in Birmingham I’d buy it!

brizzlemint · 19/04/2019 10:20

I love this house - the colours are lovely.
