As well as the bannister-shagging fox, there’s a nice fox on top of the washing machine too.

In an odd way I kind of love it. I imagine the people who owned it putting it together, finding all the things that they loved.

It’s just amazing!! Think of the amount of time it has taken to make a house that OTT. Hats of to them for doing what they wanted and not following the normal conventions. But I bet it takes a lot of cleaning.

You're a long time dead - so yes, yes, to living life to full, including surrounding yourself every day with vibrant colours, sumptuous fabrics and paintings, if that's your thing, rather than feeling the pressure to conform with miles of elephant's breath, or whatever. The dead animals aren't to my taste, but each to their own.

I'm planning to fill my next house with head to toe luscious patterned wallpaper and a riot of colour. I will take inspiration from the chandelier in the washing machine room. I won't care if you all laugh; it will make me happy
