After reading another thread it made me wonder? And do you consider which one to wear or like me grab the nearest one? I have a lot but tbh I don’t have a favourite. Gifts for birthday, Christmas, valentines. They all smell lovely but it’s always the nearest which gets used!

CK in2

Paul Smith, Woman (but think this has been discontinued)

PhilomenaButterfly · 07/04/2019 19:57

None.

LakieLady · 07/04/2019 20:09

The PP who mentioned Fidji - that was my mother's scent and around 2004 I tried to get more for her but was told it was discontinued.

They appear to have reintorduced it @TooManyPaws:

www.theperfumeshop.com/guy-laroche/fidji/eau-de-toilette-for-her/p/30000EDTJU?varSel=1013259&gclid=CjwKCAjwv6blBRBzEiwAihbM-Vcu9w0rTxSSKWZh1YiLq46TJB3tOP-nItXHB-fRCjnTEaMeOa4GghoCyd0QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

I tried to get some more around 2000, and couldn't find it anywhere. The bottle I have now was my late mother's so probably 1990s, maybe even 1980s.

It's a lovely scent imo, light and quite floral but with something more complex in the underlying notes.

This thread is making me feel better.

I have what I thought were loads but actually. I thing like as many as I thought 😄:

Jo Malone:
Red Roses
blackberry and bay
Mimosa and Cardamom
English Oak and Redcurrant
English Oak and Hazlenut
Orris and Sandalwood
Dark Amber and Gingerlily
And my favourite: Tonka and Myrrh
Jo Loves Green Orange and Coriander
chanel’s Coco and Allure Sensuelle
Dior’s Dune
Miller Harris’s La Fumée

I usually have YSL’s Paris and Lancome’s tresor too... and have just given dd1 two of my Acqua di Parmas, lucky girl.
Am toying with buying JPG’s classique again.

snowone · 07/04/2019 20:11

I have three bottles of the same perfume! I'm so fussy with perfume - I think most of it absolutely stinks! Confused

VirginiaWolfHall · 07/04/2019 20:12

I thing like?!?! Not sure what that was meant to say but probably ‘I don’t have as many as I thought’ Confused

ZippyBungleandGeorge · 07/04/2019 20:15

3 one for every day, one for evenings/going out, one that I use sparingly for special occasions or just of I've had a bit big a shit week and need a pick me up, but it's the most recurrence of the three and I'm unlikely to buy it for myself. I'm white fussy about perfume so only DH or my mum buy it for me (perfume three duty free thank you lovely mother). My day to day scents I buy for myself

ZippyBungleandGeorge · 07/04/2019 20:16
  • if I've had a bit of a shit week
Winenotttea · 07/04/2019 20:42

I’ve got about 10 full size bottles at the moment plus about 30 perfume parlour mini oils and a Maison Margiela Republica sample set.
My all time favourite perfume is Jean Paul Gaultier Le Classique but it’s too heavy to be worn in the summer.
Philososphy Amazing Grace is my go to day time scent, so clean and fresh.
I bought hubby MMR At The Barbers for Christmas and it’s the nicest aftershave ever, I might sneak the odd spray for myself!

The 4711 cologne looks interesting, I think my credit card may now be getting some use!

Fstar · 07/04/2019 20:48

Opened i have 8 i think, in reserve i have 7 as some were being discontinued so stocked up.

I choose depending how i feel that day, i get a lot of migraines so strong ones are not good on days i dont feel my best.

Tonytonymacaroni · 07/04/2019 20:48

I’d love a signature scent so that when people smell it they think of me, but I can’t commit to just one , I have about 30 I think. More if I include samples from the Liberty Advent calendars over the past 3 years and various travel sized ones bought as part of sets at duty free shops.

Everyday favourites - Diptyque Philosykos (fig) Jo Malone Earl Grey and Cucumber (even though it only lasts 5 mins) and Escentric Molecules 03. Sometimes the Tiffany one depending on my mood or outfit.
For evenings out it’s probably a choice out of Plum by Mary Greenwell (now discontinued) or Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet which I’m going to look for online because it was a gift miniature as part of a set and I’m having to save it now. Or I’ll nick some of DH’s Tom Ford Black Orchid in the winter and only spray one tiny bit on my scarf- it lasts for weeks and I love it if I smell it on someone else in the street as I can instantly recognise it.

I love a lot of the Chanel scents but my friends have them as ‘their’ scents so I’d have to get one of the more unusal Les Beiges ones - that will probably by my next purchase. I also keep a travel sized Le Labo one in my handbag in case I forget to put some on before I leave the house- it’s The Noir 29.
One of my favourite places is the fragrance room in Liberty, it’s just so lovely.

I did have a special one for my wedding day in the end, because I’d told my sister how much I loved Acqua Di Parma’s Rosa Nobile, and she bought it for me as a surprise. I wore it at the wedding and on honeymoon and then stopped saving it and got a bit reckless with it, using it most days. It’s now completely gone but I will never bin the bottle even though I’m getting a new one soon (finances permitting, it’s a pricy brand!)
I love perfume and genuinely feel a bit sorry for those who get headaches or feel sick because of scents. I had a brief period during one of my pregnancies where I couldn’t stand strong perfumes on myself or anyone else and I was so glad when it passed because a gorgeous smell is one of those small pleasures in life and it can instantly put you back in a certain place or time with a certain person..

uknownothingjonsnow · 07/04/2019 20:58

I have around 4 and my current faves are Mugler Aura and Tom Ford Black Orchid

IfNotNowThenWhy · 07/04/2019 21:21

Nice to see Dolce Vita mentioned a couple of times, I'd forgotten about that, it's lush.
Realised all my perfumes share similar traits, and I can't stand others.
Like, I love a fruity note but it has to be sort of tart: rasberry, clementine, lemon etc. Anything with melon or pineapple and it's vom time. I also struggle with Patchouli in anything, in large quantities anyway.
And violets can totally fuck off.
Anyway, I have the urge to start buying samples of everything people have listed now. .! This could be a dangerous hobby!

Double0FeckingBollocks · 07/04/2019 21:27

None. I very much dislike strong artificial smells, although I like essential oil. If anyone wearing Eternity comes near me , I will make my excuses and leave.

unexpectedgifts · 07/04/2019 22:00

None at all.

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 07/04/2019 22:03

I have about ten I think - most are variations of fruity summery scents that I wear daily. I don’t take them out though - it really bothers me when people are work spray perfume or deodorant in the office.

I also have a couple of special occasion ones which are a bit more pricey.

GrumpySprout · 07/04/2019 22:10

I have about 8, but flit between 3 or 4 of them on a day to day basis. I too cannot leave the house without a spritz of perfume, I’d feel naked Blush

Peopleshouldread · 07/04/2019 22:24

One.
Same type all the time. I make it last for a year.
Sometimes I brew some essential oil mixes but only if I'm headachy or a bit flat.

user1487194234 · 07/04/2019 22:28

About 10
Wear Clarins Dynamissante for daily wear ,Chanel for special occasions and the rest at random

hopelessatthinkingupusernames · 07/04/2019 22:52

Just counted - 22 full sized plus some samples.

My all time favourite is Ralph by Ralph Lauren but I also love Christina Aguilera Signature (the one i get most compliments on) and Roberto Cavalli Acqua (just had to replace this and am gutted that it seems to have been discontinued!). My guilty pleasure one is Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy - it smells like Skittles!

Bittern11 · 07/04/2019 22:56

Tommy girl for everyday
DKNY for evenings and weekends

80sMum · 07/04/2019 23:00

I don't like the smell of perfume, it's too overpowering and sickly and if I have to sit near to someone who's wearing strong perfume, I inevitably get a splitting headache!

PurpleRobe · 07/04/2019 23:06

4 ...

Ceruti and also soap and glory for day time

Versace yellow diamond (my all time fave) and Jimmy Choo for night time
