Cats or Dogs, if only on species could survive?

Which would you prefer? Are you a dog or cat person?

Cats as my choice but dogs as a choice for the nation for reasons from other pps, guide dogs, protection, etc.

Wait are we talking about all cats? May need a tiger for protection if apocalypse 🐯

I have a dog and cats, if my house was burning down, my dog what get herself in a shizzle, and try and drag me out by my collar. My cats would walk over me, smile and wave. I’d go for dog.

I'm on the fence here. I've had cats in the past. Not been in the position to have pets for years. I often wonder what I would do if I had the opportunity and I think a dog. On the practical side cats are pretty much self sufficient and less of a tie though. In a perfect world I would have one of each!

Given that my cat has been a horror this week and is the most entitled bag of fluff ever I’ll go with the dog although it’s close for neither of them at the moment with her ridiculous antics on walks. Squaring up to bigger dogs. She’s the size of a guinea pig. 🙄

Dogs are more useful but measuring everything by how useful it is to us is probably part of what makes humans as a species so repellent. Cats are far superior and are set to become the next super species. So cats 100%.

This would have been so easy to answer a few months ago - cats! But then I adopted a puppy, I'm not at all a dog person, it's just this particular dog I'm smitten with, and he needed a home.

My cats - I went through the worst time imaginable several years ago, and one of my cats is practically an angel. I doubt I'd have survived if it hadn't been for him. Is your's a Devon Rex, KC225? Mine has similar furry chaps.

Cats for sure. She's an utter snob, demands food, shits in our neighbours garden, deamnds attention then bites you when she's had enough we love her.

Are humans still around? If so then dogs. If not then cats.

Dogs are loyal and have evolved alongside us. We wouldn’t be the same species today without dogs. And we still use them for so much more than just pets.

Cats have never really adapted to being pets. They still go out for long periods killing garden birds. In some countries (eg New Zealand) they are responsible for the extinction of many species.

Plus at 1.30 am all the cat people are being kept awake by a cat furiously making puddings on their chest, whilst occasionally making that yaaghhk noise they make when they have a furball.....just to keep you on your toes.
